PlayStation New Trophy System 1

We love Trophies here at Push Square and so any sort of update to the system is going to be met with great interest around these parts. Starting today in the US and tomorrow across Europe, Sony will be updating the Trophy system to extend its level system all the way up to 999 and updating the icons associated with each type of Trophy.

As detailed over on the PlayStation Blog, Trophy levels are being increased from 100 to 999. To be clear, this level is the overall rank associated with your PSN account rather than the total number of Trophies you've unlocked. Your new Trophy level will automatically be remapped to this new levelling system with an original rank of Trophy level 12 jumping up to the low 200's provided as an example. Platinum Trophies will now be even more valuable and there are new icons attached to your particular rank. You can see them all in the chart below.

Finally, director of product management at SIE Toshimasa Aoki quickly touched on how the Trophy system will be handled on PlayStation 5. "Lastly, just for clarity, Trophies that you’ve earned on previous PlayStation systems will come with you to PlayStation 5, just as they have in previous generation transitions." What will your new Trophy level be? Share your thoughts on this update in the comments below.
