Re: Watch This RoboCop: Rogue City Gameplay, You Have 20 Seconds to Comply

@DarthOreo you can tell there are a lot of kids on here. Complaining about the voice over and saying it belongs in the 80s lol. Erm yeah that’s the point. It’s brilliant I’m loving every second. The demo is massive. Plenty to do. Nice write up fella and I agree with everything you say. I can’t work out how to do parking tickets it prompted me I could and I missed how!

Re: Watch This RoboCop: Rogue City Gameplay, You Have 20 Seconds to Comply

This game is brilliant. I’m two hours in and I’ve not finished the demo! If you are a fan of robocop you’ll love it. It’s brutal. You feel slow and methodical but that’s right. You have sections where you solve crimes (side missions) scanning clues and talking to people. It’s great fun. Sound and cut scenes are nailed. I’ll double dip this as it runs so well on the deck. All this not a game of year nonsense its brilliant and it’s fun.

@HarmanSmith I have it’s 50gb just under.

Re: AEW: Fight Forever (PS5) - A Superkick Party Pooper Fit for Elite Fans Only

Stocksy

@SoulChimera I’ve already sunk a lot of hours in this game. If you are a wrestling fan this game isn’t a 5. It’s extremely fun to play. That’s the main thing.

However the CAW suite is almost criminal. I was so confused. It’s so limited it’s baffling. It’ll be tough to create complex old school guys as there are no custom logos or morphing.

If they wore plain trunks and had standard looking hair you might be ok. I’ve only made three so far and all new guys (not 80s) as no one in roster fits in with them. I’ll wait for Others to create some and do some old school copying. I made an old school arena and it kinda works. Again no logos but you can remove screens and lights and just have a black stage and metal barriers and red white blue ropes. So if they add stuff to Caw like they promised it could be great. For now youd have to find enjoyment from the guys on the roster and any basic old school guys you can make. The faces won’t be good though.

Re: Gollum Dev Daedalic Entertainment to Focus on Publishing After Disastrous Launch

Stocksy

They put all their chips in on Gollum being a huge success…… but did the years of no one being excited not signpost it…. And then it not being very good.

The industry has changed you used to be able to take a flop on the chin. Games take so much longer and cost so much more. PS2 era Gollum might have done ok. So many games and so many sales. Now not so much.

People will wrongly blame Twitter. The design process for a LOTR game that decides to throw everything in on Gollum was the issue here. If you do that the game has to be awesome.

For an arcade sports game the inclusion of real life players and legends at that is massive.

It feels a this point it’s a good start.
I enjoyed NBA playgrounds 1 but 2 then did what one should have done and allowed you to play as NBA teams in a season format.

This would be great to have a similar feature added for 5 - more real life players and an arcade season similar to playgrounds format.

None of these sports arcade games have ever been perfect. Ever. The blitz games or street or Hitz or Playgrounds or Ballers…and of course Jam.. but you have to embrace to madness.

Not sure it’s day one for me but I will have a go at some point.

Re: GTA Inspired Isometric Police Game The Precinct Arrests PS5

@ShadowofSparta he uses words like “zealots” he is just repeating what really rich people have told him on TV whilst believing they are “not the man”

Most intelligent people understand what defunding the police means and most police agree. They don’t want to deal with the stuff that people want removed from them.

Re: GTA Inspired Isometric Police Game The Precinct Arrests PS5

Stocksy

I’ve always said why are there not more games where you play as police. LA Noire was excellent and I’m surprised we don’t get more in different eras.

I guess it’s more fun to design and develop being a “law breaker” but I think we could do with more games like it.

Sleeping dogs is brilliant too

Re: Don't Panic if Third-Party Games Aren't Immediately Announced for PS5, PS4 in the Aftermath of Xbox Showcase

Stocksy

@Zoidpilot4 as an owner of all three, (well 4 actually) I spend time on NL, PX and PS - PX are constantly talking about Playstation. It’s the way the Xbox only media deal with Sony and coverage that I find a turn off to the brand. Especially the JPEGs. Ugh.

Anyway….. I wish people weren’t “loyal” to a brand and held all three to the same standards. All three bring me joy and all three drive me cracker.

The steam deck keeps me sane. I can play a Sony exclusive and then a Xbox exclusive sat on sofa watching a movie.

That’s the future

Re: Publisher Take-Two Claims It's 'Not Seeing Pushback' From Players on $70 Price Tag

Stocksy

I’ve not bought and i know quite a few from an online community I’m in that would have bought a couple of their games but we passed coz of the ridiculous new price and got them way cheaper just a couple of months later. With so much to play no need to panic buy a $70 game day one - prices drop so quickly as they know long term sales at $70 would be impossible.

Re: Insomniac 'Working Hard' to Make Spider-Man 2 Its Best Game Ever

Stocksy

As an owner of both XSX and Ps5 this soundbite and attitude is much better than saying making ten out of ten games won’t get us anywhere.

Everyone should be striving to make their best ever games and competing at least with themselves.

I’m not seeing that desire from many in the industry anymore.

Profits over everything.

Make your best ever game and profits will follow.

Re: Xbox Boss Admits Microsoft Can't 'Outconsole' PS5

Stocksy

Lol - starting to regret buying my series x when the guy in charge admits he isn’t trying to make good games.

It’s why Xbox is struggling. They’ve never tried to make good games. They’ve tried to make money. When they’ve made good games it’s a nice side product.

I like Xbox - I dislike this guy.

Re: Soapbox: I No Longer Think Subscriptions Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are the Future of Gaming

Stocksy

@ShogunRok most of the people most vocal online about the “value” of GPU don’t pay 10.99 a month. They use the upgrade exploit and pay £3.50 or use points and get it free. (Which is way way to much like hard work) I have GPU at £3.5 but no way I pay 10 quid. Same with top PS tier. I stacked cheap subs before and got the upgrade for a few years. I won’t be paying 10 quid plus a month. I’ll buy what I want to play after that.

Re: Soapbox: I No Longer Think Subscriptions Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Are the Future of Gaming

Stocksy

Everyone wants me to subscribe to everything.

Movies, TV, gaming, Online content, news websites, food, delivery, alcohol, clothing…..

It’s unsustainable.

People will soon long to actually own things again. They will realise they are giving away money and getting nothing in return. It’s how to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

It’s just taking people a while to realise subscription models are taking huge amounts of money out of circulation. The rich stock pile money.

There are very few jobs for normal people in these subscription models.

We need to move away from them asap.

Re: There's One Upcoming Call of Duty Game Xbox's Activision Buyout Can't Take Away from PS5, PS4 Owners

Stocksy

So many people seem to not understand the damage this deal does to both PlayStation and Xbox fans (or like the vast majority of us who don’t affiliate we are just gamers) all the “Sony is a spoilt child” is ridiculous. Xbox owning all these third party IP hurts the industry. Less games will be released. Fact. I’m surprised so many are blind to the fact. The greed that comes with a subscription model is clear to see. A lot of entitlement from GPU subscribers, I’m a GPU subscriber and I’d rather pay for exclusives and get better more solo focused efforts. Last couple of years has been painful and doesn’t look like it’s getting better soon.
