@HeeHo many of us have gamepass. What did he say that’s wrong? I’m as critical of now/whatever they call this new thing…..
This is a terrible year for exclusives for Xbox and not much. Better for Sony as it stands.
Microsoft will aggressive trying and fill the holes in the GPU calendar with 3rd party games. At least anyone like me who subs will hope they do. I don’t pay them for nothing. A sub model only works if you give strong content every month
I can’t remember a time when I’ve been less excited for games coming soon.
It’s like the industry forgot to make good games I wonder when they’ll remember good games are at the heart of this industry and not subscription models. Even sub models need good new games. I can see a industry reboot coming up. The FTP dollars won’t last forever
I applaud push square and it’s staff for dealing with all this sensibly and not being apologists. We aren’t over reacting to expect a big feature of a £100 a year service to work day one. Especially with all the upgrade nonsense and all that.
I’d have hoped that the complete resistance saga, plus Killzone, Motorstorm and god of war would all be present with all their games and versions. Plus Wipeout. These Sony exclusives should have been a given and on the first marketing wave.
@soimun might be regional. I’m in U.K. and I’m fairly sure it’s not available here. Maybe I just missed it and I thought I’d snapped all the classics up. I won’t miss it this time lol
Now thats more like it... DC wasnt on PSP/Vita or PS3... Hopefully the start of some newly available games not just the ones they recently took our access away from...
So we are now claiming this new service is going to be much much smaller than now and saying it said “up to 700 games” lol…. But we are starting with under 200???
Hahahaha.
Honestly….
Two drops a month. The first drop needs about 200 games to make this even half decent. Again I’m talking the retro games. The top tier is the one that needs serious work.
@daveofduncan had a long weekend off been lovely actually. Sorry if I triggered your inner fanboy but for one of the main selling points being a “library” of classic games we just aren’t seeing that - I want it to be better and we all should expect more than 2 psp games and what 10 ps1. No real ps2 games except the ones that were on ps4… and even then not all of them.
If you are happy at the offering for over £10 a month that’s great good for you but some of us will say when we think both the PR and the service thus far is looking bare bones. The new stuff looks great but why put such a scant offering as the “top tier”.
I’m not fussed about trophies but I understand others love them so this is great and a big deal. Should have been part of the announcement. Not sure why Sony PR have done this in such a strange fragmented way. The hype would be far greater if they’d done a big shiny showcase with full details and all the games and info. Would have sent the internet into meltdown but instead people seem confused and all a bit Meh…. When it’s shaping up to be an amazing service
Like others have said the whackiness (intentional) of this whole series is a turn off. It’s a shame as it could be a great series and the first couple showed some promise.
Also people that use woke (as in being awake) as insult make me laugh.
@themightyant but like Nintendo the value has to be there from the start. They started similar with a pathetic offering (I’m talking the classics here) and with no guarantee of releases we are drip fed one game a month.
Psp, ps3, pS 2&1 all have monster back cats and to only be able to get those few on from start is truly IMHO worse than nothing.
I have three years stacked and honestly believe the service will be just about serviceable by then and that’s if they don’t strip away the old games on rotation. I have no interest in having to play Syphon Filter now because it might leave in 60 days.
I really don’t know how they’ve managed to fudge the classic games so much. Licenses aren’t a problem as loads of the classics in my head are Sony own and yet still missing. They could and should have done way way better
m underwhelmed. The new stuff is solid. Not spectacular but solid and similar to GPU. The classics announced are terrible. 8 ps1 and 1 psp?!? Why bother? The PS3 stuff is a backwards or at most sidewards step from what we have on now currently. I thought they were going to blow me away but instead they’ve done a Nintendo and done the very very very bare minimum. I’m stacked on cheap codes for three years so it eases the pain much like I only pay £3 a month for GPU so the fact 22 will have no Xbox exclusives stings a little less. But no way is this service worth a tenner a month.
No Killzone. Only two of the resistance games. No classic God of wars. No sign of the first two Motorstorm games. Ps2 is pathetic…. Such a massive back cat and they manage a couple?
It’s the disrespect I expected Really… Jim has said he hates old games and has shown they don’t have a clue about classic games.
I’m kinda underwhelmed. The new stuff is solid. Not spectacular but solid and similar to GPU. The classics announced are terrible. 8 ps1 and 1 psp?!? Why bother? @Col_McCafferty we aren’t Nintendo fanboys we are gamers. We don’t “support” one brand like a sports team. We are educated, intelligent gamers that appreciate varied experiences and don’t say things like “glorified mobile game”
I couldn’t care less you don’t like Nintendo but you do half talk some rubbish.
It’s a cracking machine. I love the vita and the switch really shows what Sony could have had if they hadn’t given up. The switch is a monster and has such a solid varied games line up. The 3rd party support is growing and it should have been stronger from the start. Lots of companies don’t like money. With this user base companies should be begging to put their games out and it’s a complete myth most switch users are kids - I’d wager most are older gamers with plenty of cash to splash on games. Retro gamers.
I’m not disappointed but I’m surprised as the player base and availability of consoles is still a way away from what it should be but good to see ps5/XSX power being unleashed finally
Glad I stacked early on the Now front at £35 for three years. Annoyed I’ve wasted money on any plus for that time as I get nothing extra but I’ll take the cheap stacking I won’t be paying £100 a year after that I doubt same I won’t pay GPU when they make me pay more than £3.40 I pay right now
@IonMagi that isnt 100% going to be the case. Look at the BC stuff on Xbox. Quite a few license games on their. Even on the ps5 via ps4 BC we have games like “the warriors” (a ps2 title) and old now non cannon Star Wars games - bounty Hunter for example. It will be where the game was published by a different company that owns the license where we will have issues, sports games and driving games with real life cars but even they are not impossible it certainly complicates things I’ll give you that.
I’m not sure if the Harry Potter games were made my WB studios? It is unlikely they’ll feature but we could see some licensed games
There are tons and tons of “old games” I’d like to revisit from 1,2,3 - mainly 2 and 3 - I’ll make a bold prediction that pretty much none of them will end up on this service. They either have license issues or will be caught up in IP ownership tangles. More the later tbh.

All this will do is create a narrative that this service is awful. Gamepass can still be had for £3.40 a month as Xbox happily leave open the cheap work round. This service is considerably more than that and doesn’t include day one exclusives.
I don’t think it should include day one exclusives but that’s all you’ll read when it launches. I’m a realist and I want this service to be a good one and succeed but Sony proved with Now (and has proved before with Vita and so many other things) that if the public don’t lap it up at first offering they get bored and don’t do much with it.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced During Sony's State of Play Livestream for June 2022?
A lot of coming next year stuff. Disappointing for me. A lot of horror and VR stuff. I’m surprised so many seem to have this as amazing really.
Re: Japanese PS Plus Premium Lineup Shares First Look at PS3 Games
No complete Resistance, no complete Killzone, no complete god of war and no complete Motorstorm or wipeout. Bizarre choices.
The complete back catalogue of Sony exclusives should be the VERY bare minimum
Re: PS Plus Members Bemused by Potential God of War Inclusion Across Multiple Tiers
Sony PR team are big fans of Lee Dixon.
When he scored an own goal he went BIG. Epic own goals. When Sony get it wrong they love to go big and do it in style.
Doing this first month of service is so Sony. 😂
Re: Rumour: Killzone VR Was in Development, Could Have Switched to PSVR2
Just give us another full Killzone you cowards!!!! And a Motorstorm!! Stop sleeping on your IPs.

Haha

Lol. Two more games. One psp and one ps1…. Lol.
This launch is ridiculously disjointed and all a bit underwhelming. I expected more from the classic games.
I really expected more. I will learn to expect bare minimum - actually I’d argue less than bare minimum for these classics.

Re: PS Vita's PS Store Says Content Is No Longer for Sale
Sony are having an absolute nightmare. What are they playing at?!?!?
The vita is an amazing machine. Sony have treated it horribly like anything that does go over 100% from day one. They ditch it and forget about it.
Vita was a machine they could have supported and over time it would have been an amazing success. I love mine. I don’t play JRPGs.

Re: PS Plus, PS Now Members Will Be Upgraded to PS Plus Premium for the Duration of Their Longest Subscription
So if you just own Now you are far better off?? I think this is a bit of a con and everyone is giving them a pass….
If you own Now to 2025 and nothing else you get the top tier of the new service until 2025…..
If you own now to 25 and plus to 2024 you get top tier of new service until 2025….
Also if you own now until later in 2022 and plus until. 2025 you get the new service 2025….
Those of us that have given most money to Sony seem to lose out again…..
I think more should be calling this out….
