This is not a speed run. It’s an exploit. Imho in a game that people get so upset about suggestion of a “easy” mode the same people embrace speed run glitches and ridiculous farming.

Sony really doing their best to look bad. Not sure if all their PR team have been on a long holiday/sacked or a just suddenly rubbish but they certainly seem to be burning all their good will with the wider gaming audience and media.

Great news. I feel for those who haven’t or can’t get a ps5 but over a year of barely no exclusive next gen games is enough. Let’s have some proper XSX and Ps5 games

@Reeneman @Shepherd_Tallon @SoulChimera true. I will say I have serious issues with many aspects of the game. It’s still a very very good game. It’s just not the GOAT and it really could be.

At times it simply isn’t exciting. It’s fun and it’s impressive. Its just held back by stupid design decisions.

That being said the grind isn’t one of them.

It just feels dated in format and design and the chase the rabbit races get a bit boring.

I’m still loving it. I’m just a believer in balance and not just praising when there is plenty of room for improvement

@JJ2 agree. I recently played it from start to finish on XSX through BC and can safely say it’s better than anything we have had this gen so far!

I got the special edition and was late to the party but also got the bonus 1m. I’ve played for. 5 hours - I have 45 cars and 2.5million in the bank. Reading all the reports before sounded like you never got cars and money was hard to come by. I have a relatively expensive Ferrari and a McClaren plus plenty of nice high end cars won from just playing.

I welcome these changes but the issues I have from this game are not winning cars or the money pay outs.

@RubyCarbuncle I own hundreds and hundreds maybe into 1000 of playstation games over Ps1/2/3/psp…. Physical And digital having an offer to pay them for £100 a year doesn’t seem consumer friendly. I would like to access all my digital games at least from my ps5…

Seriously why do people on here constantly say “people won’t use it and don’t want it it’s niche” Sony just made it a massive part of their most expensive tier. They did that from extensive research and knowing what gamers want. That’s a fact

Jim Ryan over and over has shown his disdain and even contempt for “old” games and certainly wasn’t going to spend a penny to let gamers play their collection - “they look and play rubbish” is basically what he said…. Who wants that?

Then he says old games look amazing pay us £100 a year to play your old games but only if we have them in the collection we release

It’s basically if you want these old games put your money where your mouth is and we will take it.

Nintendo and Sony really are terrible when it comes to BC and old games and yesterday did nothing to help that at all.

Until we know the games and how long they stay it’s hard to get excited. Ps2 was the generation of the licensed game. 1000s of licensed tie in games. I’d bet none are included.

At £100 a year…. £8.99 a month… from the details we currently have…. Hand on heart I find it hard to believe anyone is excited for this…

Intrigued and wanting to know more but seriously no one can be truly excited by what we know so far.

The free upgrade from Now is awesome gives me 1.5 years to see what it’s like at no extra cost.

If we had followed the advice of many people here and “stopped moaning” it wouldn’t have been. They thought they were gonna get away with it else they wouldn’t have done it. This wasn’t planned

It’s only right that push square report any issues and down time. It’s right that people point out a game needlessly being online only are then offline at the same time. Again needlessly.

Both Xbox and Sony have similar issues and everyone should want and expect better

If a game is set up not to respect a gamers time. Actively seeks to milk its players and changes stuff AFTER reviews….

Firstly it knows what’s it’s doing and it’s not made a “mistake” it knew it was grubby so didn’t want it reviewed.

Secondly it isn’t defendable - if you like to grind and farm and MTX. Nice for you. But in a game like this the grind shouldn’t feel like a grind.

Thirdly - this nonsense about reflecting rarity and all that. This is a game. Real life rarity of these cars are for practical reason. Age of car or cost to make car. Digital versions aren’t restricted the same way. It’s escapism.

This was always a car collecting game.

It’s another case of arrogant devs not understanding why people like their games and putting low hanging MTX first.

The low scores are justified. They sabotaged their own game AFTER initial reviews intentionally

@get2sammyb I’ve had an email saying I’ve got the plat from this - I haven’t. I’ve seen a few others reporting the same. 😂 might be worth a look. I did it in ten hours apparently haha. My PSN name. Official email from Sony. If you wanna do a article on it I’ll happy forward email.

The campaign is good. An enjoyable romp. I plan on playing the extra missions they’ve added. If you ignore all the other gunk and just play it like a single player campaign game it’s actually pretty good and well worth the tenner you can now get it for.

Shame most people won’t listen to that .

Also I can still play my copy of Gran Turismo. All these years later and enjoy it….. which is really nice.

When this game turns off the servers it’s gone forever

I had a bad feeling before this game came and the false scarcity of the special edition meant I did purchase day one. I’ve owned every other GT game day one.

A few of the statement in the lead up had me worried. I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I just knew something was off. I was proved right.

They have forgotten/not realised why people loved this game series. His statements contradict themselves. We don’t want people to grind the same races to have to buy cars so we’ve made cars more expensive and payouts less. Surely that does the opposite?

Like so many companies in gaming in the last few years they’ve lost their way and become greedy money over everything else.

I won’t have people defend this. It’s greed simple.

The new fifa you can only play at the level you can in real life “to reflect to skill and hard work you need to be a professional footballer” - it’s absurd his comment. You put it to any other game and you realise.

People would still say

“I love that I sit on the bench for the Dog and Duck and can’t get a game - it’s brilliant - I don’t use the MTX to play in premier league - I run up and down the touch line and wait - I understand those with a family and extra money want to pay to play in premier league though. I’ll get there one day. I’m hundred hours in and I’m almost RB for dog and duck. If you dont want to play the game it’s meant to be played don’t. I love how they’ve done it. This game was never about playing in premier league.”

The above is as ridiculous as people claiming Turismo was never about being able to buy cars.

@IronMike click on the free version multiplayer… then click on the button that shows different versions and select the ps5 solo campaign and should the show it. That’s how it worked for me

Forza does throw cars at you but it’s an arcade game. Can we stop pretending it’s one or another. Don’t excuse micro transactions and don’t play down what others want. You can always grind and not buy cars if you like.

@awp69 Gran Turismo was built on the massive garage. That start what games like Horizon has become. Before Turismo games didn’t have hundreds of cars they had tens of cars and you might own 6/7 to complete it.

Turismo was unapologetically a car collectors dream. It is why it existed. A love letter to all cars and to give people the chance to own and drive more cars than they can wish for. To pretend it’s something else is ridiculous

It’s escapism. The whole point of a simulator is to allow people to experience things they can’t others wise the attraction is being able to drive a Nissan Micra…. It’s the high end real life rare beasts.

@get2sammyb it’s more than that. It’s a flagship console seller. Gran Turismo. There are songs about it. It’s in culture. For the multiple missteps it hurts the whole PS brand. I’ve defended Sony for the longest time but there are multiple issues here to which we cannot defend. Most importantly as you rightly say here in this very article is that the statements that are put out are ridiculous - up there with the Xbox statement about if you want a offline console buy a 360 and EA and it’s surprise mechanics!

@RadioHedgeFund agreed and in horizon arguably it’s too easy to get cars. You end up with over a hundred relatively quickly.

Glad I held off buying this. It’s everything that’s wrong with gaming.

We don’t need apologists telling us this is fine. As a single player only… we don’t need our games to need online. The only reason is to milk us. Take my fee for the game and leave me alone to play it.

JKs world is amazing and getting to explore it as presented here is superb. The attention to detail is a dream I hope I get sorted into Hufflepuff and I will be buying this day one. 100%.

Licensed vs unlicensed games is a thing now?

Licensed games should be much easier (they historically have proved otherwise) than unlicensed…. You don’t have to dream up a world. You don’t need to introduce characters. It should be so much easier to concentrate on the vitals like fun and gameplay get licensed get it wrong so often. Hopefully this is one of the good ones. The HP world is screaming out for video games because it’s a world that fits it so well.

Top two was locked no matter what. Shame both are not available for new people to experience.

Just because something is “clever” or “innovative” doesn’t mean it’s a good idea it seems this is one of those cases. When MTX invaded GT years ago I was against it. When they rotated the cars you could buy and you just could let buy what you wanted - I was against it. They seem to want to take the joy out of the game and not make it more joyful. It looks pretty and they get so much right but off the track they do nearly everything wrong and for solo players the meat and bones is the stuff you can go off the track.

Why people are so up in arms over MTX I don’t know…:: they’ve been in since GT5 haven’t they? They’ve certainly been in the last couple

Lots of “apologists” as always. It’s the double standards that get me. Anyway…. I’ll wait until I play it. I’m a big driving game fan and I’m holding off for now. I have plenty to play right now and this monster won’t be going anywhere and I suspect there might be a few patches in the works for a few of the mechanics players (not reviewers) don’t seem to like.
