The industry is in a phase of self harm and most gamers are sensible and know how to shop savvy. We won’t pay £70 and still be locked away from content.

He hasn’t read any of what’s been said, he is not interested in engaging and can only see one solution.

The issue here is people are confusing saying that a community can be infiltrated and exploited by preparatory men; to an attack on that community it isn’t.

Anyone that believes this doesn’t happen just doesn’t understand human nature.

Not everyone that joins the police force is a predatory man that will use the position to commit acts of violence against women; but we need safe guards in place because it demonstratively has happened and so has it happened in the community we are discussing, I have no doubts they are not genuine members of that community but even so they exploit the new rules. We can demonstrate this has happened.

That is problematic: the fact people want to deny it is problematic. JK pointing out horrible people will exploit that community: is not.

@Westernwolf4 if you were a human rights lawyer… you would know the struggle women still have. It’s real. Violence towards women is still normalised in society. Women wanting to discuss issues, that demonstratively exist is important.

I wouldn’t usually comment on such matters but it seems mostly men are offended by JKs statements.

I believe in the rights of Trans, Gay, all sexual persuasions, all races, creeds and religions AND women.

We have to discuss repercussions of large cultural shifts.

When a whole community wants to shut down discussions and safeguards it sounds to me very much like when Metoo started and ill informed men started spouting “not all men”

I am a man and I never felt offended by metoo.

Half life…. Rallisport, ridge racer, Splinter cell…. Coming….. my oh my….. wave race….. all flying onto their various platforms and multiple plats….. it would be so exciting…..

Instead we get the psp ridge racer….

@ROTTIEMAN16 I’m in the middle. 8/10 hours is a short game for me. 50 plus is too long. For £70 I don’t want it over in 10 hours.

@AdamNovice you’ve not been watching the recent movies then…… they could easily have different settings/areas where it develops.

@Sequel right? And this is a good game. You don’t need to play a game for a 1000 hours like I said. I basically said….. I don’t have enough time to want to play a game for 1000 hours, so this perfectly good game which had an added GaaS aspect tacked on the end of a good solo campaign was a worthwhile investment at £15 you’d get 20 hours of fun out of it at less than a £1 a hour.

I’d also buy your logic about how precious time is but your on a thread about said game reading 100s of comments about said game typing a reply to say your time is too precious to actually play said game….

@naruball exactly this. Even at ten quid I saw online people saying I wouldn’t play it for free….. what?!?!? It’s a good game. It could have been better but the story and gameplay for the campaign is very good for a tenner!

I’m looking forward to booting it up again as it’s been a while.

The solo player aspect of this was a good game. I paid £15 for it and expected it to be awful but it just proved most the people vocal hadn’t played it.

The stuff after completion of the main game seems to be focus of the anger. I’m not one to try and play and game for 1000 hours so the standard sized campaign was enough me. Loads of free dlc.

I found it hard to be angry at this game.

But I did actually play it and not just get angry at the tacked on GaaS nonsense.

I will go back and enjoy the masses of free cosmetic content that it’s about to get as I didn’t get caught up in all that and there is loads of it.

I think I still have a few missions and things to do. I haven’t done all the dlc so the free cosmetics will make all that interesting.

My issue with the last few was that so many features seemed locked to silly timed events and content vanished forever when they pull support.

One of them had a cool “Forza style” barn find type thing that was only during set periods. It was then lost forever.

When it’s been programmed and sorted why not just add permanently when you are going to pull support?

Modern gaming is a bit rubbish for this nonsense.
Beef up a game after release but only for a limited time.

With Blade already confirmed and Deadpool…. Moon knight and punisher would be the next two I want. It’s not a bad roster already.

@brazzios_84 gaming journalists are usually qualified. To degree level. They have learnt a certain amount of responsibility. Influencers mummy bought them a camera and set up and they go about trying to get freebies and paid. It’s not a good way to deal with reviewing or advertising.

Magazines and websites will get far more scrutiny and regulation.

@zupertramp I didn’t say that. The fact of the matter is most hackers get offered a deal and then get high paid jobs in cyber security. I said people making out this is a heinous crime and want the hacker abused in jail have a whacked sense of what a serious crime is. This sort of crime is viewed so harshly because it can lose people money. So media programs people to vilify it. Where stuff like rape most of the time you don’t get found guilty or you get a ring sentence. I’d just like common sense mate

@theMEGAniggle aye, I’m not fussed about seeing it at all. The gaming media has flooded it to me mind you. They could have ignored it and it would have had a much smaller audience. The code is the big thing but surely the minute it gets released dataminers get that all anyway? GTA V code is easily getable I assume?

@lindos exactly. The gaming industry is so precious. It lives in such a privileged bubble. We saw a few work in progress shots and most of us probably shrugged and went who cares it’s years away. It was nice to see a few shots but doesn’t tell me anything we didn’t already know.

1- anyone judging a game on a leak is an idiot.
2- why are devs punished? And how?
3- don’t make this a bigger deal than it is.
4- some people live in a bubble that they feel this is a drama in their life “that’ll pass” - people are dealing with death, illness, homelessness… cmon people.

The reality is some people got a look at an u finished game, this often happen is promo builds anyway.

Often photos from movie sets leak and it’s not the end of the world.

@themightyant I don’t disagree but it did see the light of day and people were charged $60 and within a year it’s not even a game anymore. Luckily I didn’t buy it but the industry needs regulation and protections put in for gamers. It’s a ridiculous situation and it’s happening more often and with everyone seemingly intent on chasing GaaS money it’ll happen more often.

Since when did “expansions” and “DLC” become two seperate things? People in comments claiming thus is standard? What? What other games make that distinction?

Also plenty of games have given sizeable “updates” for free.

People do talk in comments like the know everything and patronise everyone else.

This maybe paid for content but (and that’s fine) it’s not been clear from any of the articles…. Making ridiculous claims about wording and how the industry works is stupid. Every firm seems to make up what they call DLC/updates/expansions etc. i would say there is no longer an industry standard.

I thought I had but it’s saying I hadn’t. Bizarre. Claimed now. Would have been grumpy if I’d missed this month!

I like the contents of the edition but 280 is nuts. I’ve preordered for £50 and I’ll stick with that.

I’m glad it’s a small amount saying they’d pay and it’s a small fee under 9 dollars.

Can I play the management mode as a WSL team? If not then they are a token gesture. I want to take charge of a womens team same way I can a man’s team.

If it’s just friendlies or one off cup/trophies it’s not really a big deal - in as much it will seem shallow. I hope the womens teams are given the same modes as the mens.
