@awp69 I did the ten hours in two days. So I paid for MVP version. The madden and College football - it’s 125.99 and with cheap credit got it down to £55 each game. Which was more palatable. And I got early access plus all the extras

I’m in U.K. and bought it. The key to this story is a bit more than just stupid people over paying. We haven’t had a college football game in ten years. Those number won’t be as high for Madden or College football next year.

@themightyant yeah physical sales are much higher than being reported publicly to try and manipulate the market. Demand is still there and it’s still high

Just put down my steam deck to read this…. Was just playing Forza Horizon 5…. It forced me to use my Xbox log in - where is the rage over that…….

If less of the industry was chasing the “Fortnite” money and the easy huge huge rewards that a one in a million and doing what they used to do…. Concentrate on just covering costs and making some profit.

The current bunch of greedy clueless idiots in charge of the industry need sweeping away the last 10 years has been a slow decent in quality and depth and replaced by shallow money grabbing nonsense.

It’s strange how some throw around the word “entitled” and they don’t really know what it means.

You are entitled to expect value for money. You are entitled to have certain expectations as a consumer. So if you mean that then yes people are entitled to feel that way.

It’s not “entitled” the way you mean. Just accepting whatever a company does just because it’s your fave bit of plastic is ridiculous.

Reviewers are also an issue here, did they make people aware of all the stuff missing on launch? As a consumer do you need to research everything so throughly? Is it fair to assume a sequel would have the similar features to the first title? I’d say yes it is. Especially on some of the features listed above.

I’ve yet to buy the game. It’s great they are adding this stuff and I will pick it up soon.

Star Wars for me. Brilliant game

Really enjoyed and was surprised by the alpha. Characters played completely different and different controls. They nailed that. Combat was fun and varied due to it. Looked good and played smooth. Was disappointed when it ended.

It’s fashionable to say “DOA” on games now and have a pile on so I think it’ll be true on this game. Look at the comments here. So many that didn’t play the game so vocal about how bad it is.

@Toadie exactly. There aren’t enough games and too many games launch and then die coz they are online only. Ps2/ps3 there were so many more games.

Look at the charts. Batman trilogy is still in charts on Xbox

@Fghtbk85 have they confirmed they are getting that? I thought it was just graphics and additional deleted or mod content?

@WolfyTn if it was getting a resident evil make over….. day one. A remake of RE2 proportions and this would be amazing.

More classic games need a make over done with the respect they gave RE2 and tbh the much old RE1 and RE0 remakes which both made the old games very much enjoyable.

I bet all the people involved in the bad decisions kept their high paid jobs.

Was reading about the company bet365 they “lost” 60m last year and the CEO paid herself 270m……

She could have just taken 200m and they made 10m profit.

I sat next to sir Patrick Stewart in a restaurant he was with his partner enjoying food. We didn’t bother him. (Even though we are big fans) we just carried on eating and having our lunch. Other couples approached him and he politely asked to be left alone.

It’s a small example but just because you are famous or rich doesn’t mean people should feel you owe them something.

It’s not a “gaming” issue too many “gamers” live in a bubble. Especially gaming Journalists. This is a society issue.

Social media is horrible and women are no bared with D pics and abuse whatever role and industry they work in.

Played the demo for 3 hours on steam deck. Bonkers the demo was so large. Plenty to do and investigate. You can give parking tickets and look into random crimes. It’s great. Have order a steam key already and will 100% play on ps5 too. As it works so well on steam deck I will finish it on that first.

The amount of Sony apologists is hilarious. Push square right to call it out. We can love playstation and not love nonsense like this.

@DarthOreo IMHO not often to beloved franchises get a proper game that captures what fans love. There are some great movie tie in games obviously but Robocop suddenly getting a corking game that captures the movie is real gold and it’s not £70!

It working on the deck is the cherry on the top.

@DarthOreo you can tell there are a lot of kids on here. Complaining about the voice over and saying it belongs in the 80s lol. Erm yeah that’s the point. It’s brilliant I’m loving every second. The demo is massive. Plenty to do. Nice write up fella and I agree with everything you say. I can’t work out how to do parking tickets it prompted me I could and I missed how!

This game is brilliant. I’m two hours in and I’ve not finished the demo! If you are a fan of robocop you’ll love it. It’s brutal. You feel slow and methodical but that’s right. You have sections where you solve crimes (side missions) scanning clues and talking to people. It’s great fun. Sound and cut scenes are nailed. I’ll double dip this as it runs so well on the deck. All this not a game of year nonsense its brilliant and it’s fun.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner 7 is the right score for sure. It’s a fun game and the gameplay is good. Not perfect at all but enough to be fun.

@SoulChimera I’ve already sunk a lot of hours in this game. If you are a wrestling fan this game isn’t a 5. It’s extremely fun to play. That’s the main thing.

However the CAW suite is almost criminal. I was so confused. It’s so limited it’s baffling. It’ll be tough to create complex old school guys as there are no custom logos or morphing.

If they wore plain trunks and had standard looking hair you might be ok. I’ve only made three so far and all new guys (not 80s) as no one in roster fits in with them. I’ll wait for Others to create some and do some old school copying. I made an old school arena and it kinda works. Again no logos but you can remove screens and lights and just have a black stage and metal barriers and red white blue ropes. So if they add stuff to Caw like they promised it could be great. For now youd have to find enjoyment from the guys on the roster and any basic old school guys you can make. The faces won’t be good though.

They put all their chips in on Gollum being a huge success…… but did the years of no one being excited not signpost it…. And then it not being very good.

The industry has changed you used to be able to take a flop on the chin. Games take so much longer and cost so much more. PS2 era Gollum might have done ok. So many games and so many sales. Now not so much.

People will wrongly blame Twitter. The design process for a LOTR game that decides to throw everything in on Gollum was the issue here. If you do that the game has to be awesome.

A walking sim in the blade runner universe?

It’s not proper inflation as everyone who is “passing on costs” then registers record profits and pays records bonus’s to the CEO whilst paying below inflation pay rises to its staff.

For an arcade sports game the inclusion of real life players and legends at that is massive.

It feels a this point it’s a good start.
I enjoyed NBA playgrounds 1 but 2 then did what one should have done and allowed you to play as NBA teams in a season format.

This would be great to have a similar feature added for 5 - more real life players and an arcade season similar to playgrounds format.

None of these sports arcade games have ever been perfect. Ever. The blitz games or street or Hitz or Playgrounds or Ballers…and of course Jam.. but you have to embrace to madness.

Not sure it’s day one for me but I will have a go at some point.

They just don’t understand main stream appeal. LOTR can be massive but Potter, Marvel and Star Wars will always have a bigger appeal to the masses. LOTR games need to be VERY VERY good to sell huge numbers. The shadow ones were very good and didn’t sell Potter numbers. Just saying.

Let’s be real it won’t be anywhere near as good as Forza H but still day one if it’s half as good.

Hopefully they understand horizon is successful

@Golem25 agree with this watched some vids of the changes they’ve made and they are amazing. Night and day. Really impressed. They’ll bring the changes into this game from the start.

I’ve always said why are there not more games where you play as police. LA Noire was excellent and I’m surprised we don’t get more in different eras.

I guess it’s more fun to design and develop being a “law breaker” but I think we could do with more games like it.

@Zoidpilot4 as an owner of all three, (well 4 actually) I spend time on NL, PX and PS - PX are constantly talking about Playstation. It’s the way the Xbox only media deal with Sony and coverage that I find a turn off to the brand. Especially the JPEGs. Ugh.

Anyway….. I wish people weren’t “loyal” to a brand and held all three to the same standards. All three bring me joy and all three drive me cracker.

The steam deck keeps me sane. I can play a Sony exclusive and then a Xbox exclusive sat on sofa watching a movie.
