@Propaperpusher Yea, it was really tough on the hard settings, but I did it. I have to play it through it again to get the DLC, but playing it on easy now and am completely breezing through it. But hey was just a suggestion. Have a good one!
A little frustrated I was working through Lies of P again and finally got to the end of chapter 9 ready to start the DLC. Then, nothing. No pop up, deleted and installed the game 3 times, still nothing. Went online and emailed Geowiz last week. No response. Found a forum where someone stated that any outside region would not work. I bought it off Amazon in the US, but looked at the box and sure enough, it's from the UK. I thought about asking for a refund, but love the game so much I had some PS reward money and bought it again digitally on sale. Since I only paid half the first time around, it's like I bought it new. Started it up hoping to get into the DLC, nope, I have to beat the game again to access it. Sigh. So this weekend will be mostly doing that and getting destroyed solo in Nightreign. I'll get better eventually. Happy gaming everyone.
@Jrs1 that's funny, me too! I have been playing it on easy as well. Another great souls like game that has an easy mode right now is Lies of P. I beat it after on normal difficulty and loved it. But man, it was tough. Have a good one!
@Jrs1 same. I'm 51, have a wife and 2 kids, and work 60 hours a week. But remember the games we had as kids? We had some really hard games back in the day. You've got this.
A lot of people like the first SH movie but I was really disappointed with it. The main draw for me was how Harry had lost his wife, and since his daughter was all he had left he went through actual hell to get her back. You really felt for the guy. This was completely dropped. Then there were things ommitted that freaked me out in the game, like the phone call in the school, the nurses being toned down, Lisa bleeding, etc. All that was left out. Hopefully this one is better.
@Dodoo Yeah I'm working through that one now! I tried to get into souls games for years, but Wukong is the one where it finally clicked for me. Now they are all I want to play!
@Jrs1 I understand that. I dabbled in souls games for years, and was the same way. But Wukong was the one where it finally clicked for me. I was having difficulty with the first boss, but then went on YT and watched a video of someone beating him. Went back and instantly beat him. There were a few that were tough, but part of the fun is learning their patterns. The feeling you get when you finally beat them is so awesome. Since then I've played a ton of these games, and Wukong is probably the easiest of them all that I've played so far. But there are just so many things in this game that completely blew me away, from exploration to complete "Holy @$(R" moments. It's totally worth it.
This game looks really damn good. Love the premise of it. Only thing I am on the fence about is the combat, so will be nice to finally see it in action.
If anyone is on the fence with this game, just buy it. I was apprehensive at first due to the difficulty, but wanted to play it since I had read Journey to the West years ago. The difficulty is completely doable with a little patience. This game is a technical marvel, and a total masterpiece. Games like this are the reason why we game.
It's sad how many of these I've played, but going to have to go with Clair Obscur. Split Fiction and KC2 were pretty close, but Obscur just blew me away.
This is disappointing to read, however, I loved the game so much I'm still going to try it. Even if I end up not liking it, supporting studios like this is worth it.
And this is why Kojima lost me, after years of being a dedicated fan of his. I can understand his point, and his need to feel somewhat alienated from mainstream success, but at the same time I don't understand the mentality of seeing people enjoying something and wanting to take it away from them.
And this is why they release broken games like this. They cut tons of corners, didn't let anyone review the game, only showed off one of their employees playing the demo 2 weeks before release where the game broke multiple times so bad they had to turn it on "God mode" to finish it, and people STILL bought it. I'm in the wrong business.
How sad is it that I'm trying to see the progress we've made in the last 40 years yet I keep thinking about Custer's Last Stand on the Atari 2600, where you played as General Custer and the mission of the game was to rape a Native woman tied to a tree. Really sad we haven't moved on very much from that kind of misogynist immaturity.
Finally got around to finishing Thank Goodness You're Here this morning. My God what a crazy and hilarious game. I think I was having drug induced flashbacks at the end of it. Now going to get back into Lies of P, was in the middle of a 2nd playthrough when the DLC dropped so trying to get to Chapter 9 to get into it. Very excited for that one.
I'm itching to get a hold of Wuchang Fallen Feathers, Where Winds Meet, and Crimson Desert. Hell is Us looked really promising as well. And Ghost of Yotei is a no brainer. Definitely a lot to look forward to .
@AFCC Just go on Youtube and watch the glitch videos. Some of them are hilarious! I'm tempted too, but there is absolutely no way I would give them a penny to do so, because then we are supporting this BS.
I just screamed out "YES!" reading this. Everyone piles the acclaim on SH2, but aside from graphics I always thought the first one was far superior. The story resonated with me so much (especially being a parent) and this one truly scared me when I first played it, much more than any of its successors. I am so happy to hear this, day 1 purchase easy.
I've been watching clips of this game all day while I work, and I have to say most of the glitches are pretty hilarious. It's just sad people shelled out $60 once again for a broken game. We've seen some others fixed over time, but I have a feeling that's not going to be the case here. This is getting really old.
@Slayer25c No. I hope people enjoy it, I really do. But I'm pissed. I've been gaming for over 45 years. It's my favorite hobby. But there is no need to be pricing this high. Then you have microtransactions, paid DLC, needing mutliple peripherals that cost a ton also, etc. My biggest issue with the Switch was the drifting controllers. I had 3 sets of joycons. They all drifted. Sent them in to be fixed, and within 6 weeks they were drifting again. Now there are already reports of drifting on the Switch 2, and it hasn't even been a week yet. They did nothing to fix the situation - the new joy con is the same design. Where is the value? The biggest launch game they have is a newer version of a game they've made 17 of. The rest are games you can get on other systems. Just because other companies are greedy, does not mean I have to accept it. I won't.
@ChrisDeku Yeah, that is insane. For me, I've been gaming since 1978. Bought every Nintendo console since the NES minus the WiiU. Owned a few Xbox's, all the Playstations, Intellivision, Colecovision, etc. Bought thousands of games. This is where I jump ship for consoles. $80 is completely ridiculous for a single game, and now Xbox/PS5 just got their first $80 game as well. Besides, I've got an insane backlog and a home arcade I built that has almost every game known to man. I can't support this greed anymore.
Good for them. I do want to see it do well, but I'm not funding their greed anymore. I've owned every Nintendo system minus the WiiU since the original NES. Sorry Nintendo, but my money is in another castle.
Is it just me, or is there anyone else who has no desire to watch video game movies? There are so many games I love that have movies that I have absolutely zero interest in watching. The few that I have seen were very disappointing for the most part.
This game looked really interesting, but didn't know a historical author wrote it. That would seal the deal for me as I'm a big history buff and have read a lot of the Viking sagas and histories. Gonna put this on the watch list.
I love pirate games, but still am waiting for a realistic one with the art style of Skull and Bones, but with the amount of activities such as in Sea of Thieves, as a single player story driven adventure game. Thieves is one of my favorite games of all time, and I have put an insane amount of hours into it, but being a solo player I am constantly ganged up on by 3-4 players at a time. I love the fights with other players but 3-4 is too much, and it's happening within almost 20 minutes of every single time I log in. I know some will suggest safer seas, but it's limited in what you can do (over 100 in all guilds and no athena/reaper voyages). The closest we have to this is Black Flag, and that game came out 12 years ago. This looks interesting but the turn based combat is a turn off.
Under the Waves started out as such an interesting game, but fell apart like nothing I've ever seen at the end. It's like they just gave up about 3/4 of the way through.
Saw a lot of cool games over the 3 shows, but this one was one of the most interesting ones to me. Great premise and some cool mechanics at play. We'll see if they stick the landing.
@Oram77 That one was one of my favorites, but mainly because I've read a lot about HH Holmes over the years. Plus Paul Kaye is one of my favorite actors. But to each their own!
This was a nice surprise, I've been excited to play this. Lies of P is one of my all time faves so it's a no brainer. Now just crossing my fingers that we get a sequel with the tease at the end of the game. I literally would buy a new console just to play that.

Of course it's going to be Ghost of Yotei. However, Tides of Tomorrow looked interesting, I really enjoyed Road 96 so will be interesting to see this in action. Will also try 007, looks like they got the feel right but gameplay is another story.

Take that, plus the loss of 2 major executives who just resigned and all signs point towards a major dumpster fire, patch or not.

Man these sales are killing me. I have way purchased more games this year than I have time for. I'm slowly plowing through them, but there are just too many titles I want to play. Some great games in here, but if you're into story, I can't recommend Banishers Ghosts of New Eden or What Remains of Edith Finch enough. They both blew me away.

I watched it with my wife who is not a gamer and she thought that was odd as well. She also commented on how dumb it was that Ellie was able to navigate in a boat during a storm in the pitch black ocean and easily arrive to her destination. For the first season, I thought the TV show did some things better and the game others, but for this season I think the game did almost everything better.
