Just in case it had slipped your mind, Nintendo has partnered with Sony Pictures to make a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.

Initially planned for a global theatrical release on 26th March, 2027, none other than Shigeru Miyamoto himself has announced a slight delay:

The film is now pencilled in for 7th May, 2027 — not a huge delay, and hard for it to really have an impact when it's so far out in the first place.

Still, we appreciate the notice; thank you, Miyamoto-san.

The Legend of Zelda movie is being produced by the Nintendo head alongside Avi Arad (producer on all things Marvel, mainly — Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Venom, Iron Man, and plenty more).

The director is Wes Ball, known for the Maze Runner films as well as Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
