@Kidfunkadelic83 as someone who played through the originals multiple times each, these are the exact same games with a nice graphical upgrade. I'm having a ton of fun plowing through them again.
I didn't mind the system going down, that happens. My daughter went ape-S because she couldn't play Roblox so I had to beat her severely (joke). I just wish there was more communication from Playstation, I hate when companies say "it's only affecting certain people" when it's clearly affecting everyone. I got in trouble at one company I worked for (a credit union) when our entire system went down for a week. I was instructed to tell people, who had been waiting on the phone for over 1 hour, that it only affected a small portion of people and I refused to lie to people. So it's like nails on a chalkboard seeing statements like that.
Loved the Telltale game. The guy who played Marty was almost indistinguishable from Michael J Fox, who also played a character in the game in the last episode. Plus they had Christopher Lloyd back as well. Going to have to dig it up now.
Bad question to ask PS users. I've got a ton of new stuff but am working on a 3rd playthrough of Black Myth Wukong. I am just in awe of this game. Need to dig deeper into Kingdom Come 2 which is amazing but I'm so hooked killing yaguais.
It will never, EVER, get old for me shooting Nazis in the balls. However, this series is long due for some innovation. I know it it ain't broke, don't fix it, but we're going on 10 games here.
I would strongly recommend Tchia to anyone who hasn't tried it. It's a Zelda-esque game based on New Caledonia mythology (made by them). It looks like a cutesy kid game, but it has some seriously dark humor that left me in stitches (once you get over the initial shock of one of the scenes). Plus, you can morph into any animal, including a bird which you can then poop on people. Yes, really.
@Darkri74345 I typically hate the constant negativity emanating from the internet, but previously we used to get AAA games somewhat regularly. After raising the price of subscription, the quality of the games has gone down. The only one of the games this month that might have interested me is Pac-man, but I have played dozens of Pac-man iterations over the years and I am over it now (Been playing it since the arcade in the 80s). Payday looks as generic as they come, and High on Life looks mediocre at best. They need to do better.
@thefourfoldroot1 it definitely is. I played it some more after the last comment and it's starting to click for me now. Won a few fights, even against multiple opponents. I'm really happy with it.
@EfYI Sad part is I have a lot of new games I am working through so getting it early was not a big deal, but I am absolutely glad now because the game is incredible.
@thefourfoldroot1 I didn't play the first game very much but the combat is much improved in this one. It still has not really clicked for me yet, but I am positive it will. It is more realistic because I've had 2 fights and lost both, mainly because I was getting trigger happy and burning my stamina for attempting too many swings at once. You really need to be patient and more strategic in fighting than in other games. That said though, I am really enjoying it.
Put a couple hours into this today (got delivered early). It's fantastic. My only issue is there are a lot of very long cutscenes as if Kojima made it, but they are really well written. Game is beautiful, hilarious, and what I appreciate the most is it is much more realistic than other games. Got a crossbow that's not a machine gun as it takes time to reload in the opening battle. Still trying to grasp combat but it's really unique, and much more streamlined than the first game. Amazing title so far.
I got this in early access (and paid for it). It was fun for a while, then got taken offline. When it came back up, I lost most of my characters that I had unlocked and found out that they had to be purchased or severely grinded for to get them back. Ridiculous, not to mention the game changed and was less fun. Stopped playing, lesson learned. This game was a total cash grab S-show.
There have only been a small handful of games I wanted to play that were only on Xbox over the years, definitely not enough to make me buy one. Forza was one of those games. Will be a day 1 purchase for me!
@Elodin I'm not big on platformers either, but after weeks of hearing so much positive feedback (and not one negative) about Astrobot I gave it a try. Loved it, the game is just pure joy.
Damn and I thought last month was bad. This is terrible. You would think they would have some better quality games after raising the cost of the service, but it's gotten worse.
I like challenging games but not everyone has the time to grind them out. I'm 50, work around 55 hours a week, and have a family. As much as I'd like to spend hours a day grinding away on bosses, it's just not feasible. I'm actually going to break my preorder rule for this one. Looks amazing. It's just nice to be able to finish a title on one difficulty, and then up the ante in future playthroughs if it's good enough.
I've got one of the Arcade 1up Outrun machines in my office. It's a sit down driving cab. There's a company that does a PC mod for it that I will be doing soon and it has the Dreamcast version of Tokyo Extreme 2. Can't wait to play it.
Got so many new games to play from the PS sale last month (most $10-$15!) but I simply cannot stop playing Black Myth Wukong. Late to the party, but glad I finally showed up as it is an unbelievably incredible game. Working on wrapping up Chapter 4 and making my way up the Purple Mountain.
@LikelySatan I get that. For me though, it was a place to escape from. Believe me, I've seen enough insanity to last 3 lifetimes there. Have a good one!
@LikelySatan interesting. I grew up in Miami, lived there for 30 years before finally leaving. Best decision of my life. But the idea of playing in a virtual one where I can cause destruction is very appealing to me, just the same as it was when Vice City came out. At the time I worked in Little Havana, and would come home every night and go on sprees in the same area of the game. It was very therapeutic. They absolutely nailed South Florida in the trailer, so much so that I could swear I saw a lot of my friends in it. Can't wait to dig in. Not sure if I would pay $100, but still can't wait.
Black Myth Wukong. I ordinarily don't care for hard games like this but this one is an absolute masterpiece that I can't stop playing. Currently working on finishing chapter 3.
Played the demo for a while. I can see the appeal but it's not my thing. Just too repetitive and the story/dialogue is akin to sixth grade fan fiction. But hope everyone else enjoys it.
Space Marine 2 was the first Warhammer game I've ever played. I got so hooked I picked up Darktide and am currently loving that as well. Wil definitely be looking for more on the horizon!
Just found out that a company I've used several times to mod the 1up arcade machines has one for the Outrun machine. It has Simpsons Hit and Run on it, along with Burnout 3 and lots of others. There's goes a good chunk of my tax money refund again!
It's too bad they couldn't just pull the pirate stuff and make a new game, like they were supposed to do with Skull and Bones. But it's Ubisoft, they had to drop the ball. Biggest complaint I've had with them the last few years is their games are just repeating the same formulas.....looks like that's not going to change.
I purchased the game the week at launch knowing the issues it had, especially with the 8 hr campaign. But Rocksteady stated they would be adding story missions later, so I assumed that the story would be longer and told throughout the seasons. That was a total lie. I don't care what they make from here on out, I'm not buying it. This whole game was a S-show travesty.
@PuppetMaster the article is about Kojima stating that the process is "both physically and mentally" draining. And I'm not making any assumptions since I've been a Kojima fan for DECADES and have read hundreds of articles and interviews with him over the years. I love his work (well, not so much DS) but he's not omnipotent. I am saying the game and his overall health could be improved if he could learn to delegate tasks better. I never said he didn't care about his team or their contribution, but at the same time watch any game trailer or game of his and watch how many times his name is in the credits and displayed repeatedly. He even hates being called Kojima San and insists on being referred to as Kojima Kantoku (director), his reasoning being his desire to be recognized more for his creative leadership role in the video game industry rather than just a generic title of respect like "San."
@PuppetMaster I know he has a team, I am just saying he does too much and is too obsessed with controlling every aspect of game design. It's not a novel or a album, games are incredibly collaborative and Kojima seems intent being a control freak.
@EchoRange I've been a fan of his for decades but I think his obsessiveness over control is probably a detriment to his team as well as his overall mental health.
@Orpheus79V I understand, my point is he is doing too much and burning himself out. One of the first things I learned when entering management was you have to learn to delegate things. I think Kojima is obsessed though being a control freak and seeing his name on everything. Not knocking him, I've been a fan of his work for decades, just I think he gets a little extreme with control.
@tselliot It could, he just really needs to learn to delegate more. I put a good 15 hours into DT but couldn't get into it. I think that has more to do with me being a former mailman though!
Just a thought......maybe if his games weren't simply Written by Hideo Kojima, Directed by Hideo Kojima, Produced by Hideo Kojima, Edited by Hideo Kojima, Storyboarded by Hideo Kojima, etc, he could focus on the important aspects of game development while sourcing some of the more mundane tasks to his team. But I think he just likes seeing his name so much on his titles.
Game looks amazing but feels like I've been waiting for it forever. Article says it was announced in 2023 but it feels longer than that. Hopefully will be worth the wait, it looks that way so far.
@IamJT it's actually been 6 months and I don't miss it at all. I just hated how no matter what positive thing you try to spin, there's always someone there to knock it down. Like, you could post about a movie or song you like, and then someone will chime in that you're an idiot for liking it. I just couldn't stand that. I think if Mother Teresa were alive today, people would be roasting her daily on the internet. It's really sad.

@VeldinX hopefully it will be. They've been pretty strict about what they release so there's a good chance.

@16BitHero There was a PS4 version as well. Might be able to find a physical copy somewhere. Sucks it was delisted, it was a great game.

Seems like the PS Plus is where the live service and other failures come to die. Coming up next month: Skull and Bones, Concord, and Funko Fusion.
