I absolutely hated this game. On paper it's right up my street but for many reasons it turned out to be a load of old tosh. Most of the time I'm happy to admit that a game just isn't for me, but with this one I'm convinced that everyone who praised this had a moment of pure insanity because almost everything about it is just bad.

Suggesting that all of the onus is on the consumer when physical is cheaper amidst rising living costs is not the one.

It behoves us all to consider our impact on the planet but ultimately we're forced to pick our battles in today's world.

We can talk about how 'this is x times more damaging than that' but the reality is that it's the richest people who have the biggest negative impact and it's not even close. For this reason it's a load of BS that ordinary folk are made to feel guilty because they forgot to bring their bag for life to Tesco or w/e.

Personally I have been just fine keeping crossplay on. It may well be a factor in some of the one on one fights I've lost but by and large I'm trying to flank and get the drop on people so ya mouse aiming means naff all in those circumstances.

Haven't noticed any obvious cheating either and as I understand it the anti-cheat for BF6 is quite robust.

Tried it before. Don't like how it feels to play. The off-putting strip-mining of pop culture to create a vapid soup of 'hey it's that thing I recognise' is just one issue amongst many and frankly that would be a perfectly valid reason to dislike it on its own.

Let's face it, COD will be fine, but maybe not as fine as it was. Hence moves like this which smack a bit of desperation, whatever way you slice it.

@Foxhound yeah, marketing in the 90s was absolutely wild.

@Northern_munkey even taking into account the lack of support, if you can find it at a good price it's worth it for GT7 (especially if you have a wheel) and Resi Village/4 Remake alone.

There's plenty of other good stuff - Rez Infinite, Beat Saber, Tetris Effect I'll give shout outs to. And we got a good version of Hitman in VR recently by all accounts which I've yet to get round to trying tbh.

@Ooccoo_Jr you make a fair point but a counterpoint: if a game has a niche appeal, how well does it cater to that niche? I think if you look at it in that context rather than comparing it with experiences which are wildly different it's more fair. Not that I'm saying this review doesn't do that necessarily, just talking in general.

Never seen anything else with this dude in, but he seems to be doing a good job from what we've seen. It's never enviable to step into a role which has become synonymous with a certain actor but he could win people round.

Saw a stream of the first 90 mins or so and was impressed by the atmosphere, so I'll definitely play it somewhere down the line.

I'm not particularly a Silent Hill guy, but I'll make a point of playing the good ones as a general horror fan.

@wildcat_kickz I'm pretty sure there were new hairstyles and armour etc, which appeared to be custom meshes and not simply repurposed NPC assets or what have you.

@wildcat_kickz they seem to be but it's weird. Maybe I'm getting things slightly wrong but I feel things like Baldurs Gate 3 seem to have some of the sorts of mods you couldn't get on Bethesda games on PlayStation. I can only speculate as to why that may be (if even true), I feel the mods on the mods browser for BG3 seem to be curated or at least checked by Larian?

I wonder how CDPR will approach their mod browser for consoles and if that might make any difference.

I was sure they had said previously that Japan doesn't work so well for a FH setting due to the mountainous countryside or something.

The again I'm pretty sure Ubisoft said Japan doesn't work for AC because of a lack of tall buildings and they eventually made shadows, so...

I was so bored playing this. Have no desire to revisit.

@Bluemoon2008 I'd argue it's well worth the asking price and even if it later comes to Plus, I won't feel like the 20 quid was wasted for allowing me to play on release 🤷

Maybe they were mad enough to spend money on it and never bother to ask for a refund but ffs that's on them.

I'm not surprised because it's a cracking game. The whole reason I got a series s (my first ever xbox) was so I could play Horizon 4. If only subsequent events didn't turn that thing into toaster-sized dust gatherer. Now with the multiformat strategy MS is adopting I see no further reason to step out of the PS ecosystem, Switch notwithstanding.

Deos anyone know if the act 3 requirement for the difficulty modifiers applies to NG+? Want an excuse to play this again despite getting the plat (which almost never happens, I'm usually very much done with something after that).
The issue is that the early game in NG+ is way too easy for an endgame build even with cranking the difficulty up.

Some way to tune from the start on NG+ would be appreciated.

Warner Bros need to learn that regurgitating all their IP into indistinguishable slop isn't a path to success. Sick of it, and I think alot of people are.

It's mid af. It'll probably sell well amongst those without an xbox/pc but I don't think it will win many people over.

I still kinda love Bethesda RPGs but I couldn't even finish this one.

I'll happily buy the next one because I just prefer to play on PlayStation. But I'm not buying a game I've already played to death on GP.

@GirlVersusGame I was really disappointed with Expeditions and bounced off it. Went back to Snowrunner which is my favourite chillout game.

Definitely want to give this new one a go though.

I'm quite happy to press my own buttons, thank you very much, but if this can prove useful as an accessibility feature for those with motor issues then I'm all for the development of this as an option.

That's awesome actually, deserves all the numbers it can get. It's one of the best things going.

Ciri always made the most sense, from both a narrative and gameplay standpoint.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this, Tencent slowly gobbling up the lion's share of the industry piecemeal will not be good for any of us.

@get2sammyb fair. I know a lot of people rate it quite a bit. For me it was something about the handling model that just didn't quite click, and it didn't feel as generous with its rewards.
