What is arguably the most important poll of the calendar year is here. It's time for you to help decide Push Square's official Game of the Year.
An annual tradition, the votes that you cast here today will be tallied alongside our own staff voting system that's currently running behind the scenes. The top five titles of this poll will have their points added to our overall Game of the Year vote.
So again, you get to have a direct say in which PS5 title we crown Game of the Year.
What's more, the winner of this poll will receive its own Community Game of the Year award and subsequent article — so there's plenty of reason to take this seriously!
Below, you'll be able to vote for up to five games, from a list of 50 (which has been meticulously put together by our editorial team). You must vote for at least three games, as this ensures that the voting process remains balanced.
Your votes are weighted. This means that your first choice earns more points than your second choice. Your second choice earns more points than your third — and so on. Consider your choices carefully.
Voting closes at midnight (GMT) on Monday the 15th December. In other words, our poll is open over the whole weekend.
So, without further ado, vote for your PS5 Game of the Year, and then at least try to explain yourself in the comments section below.

No Roadcraft? Boooooo!
1- Ghost of Yotei
2- Death Stranding 2
3- Blue Prince
4- Hell is Us
5- Ball x Pit
Can't vote for Once Upon a Katamari or Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo.
1. Ghost of Yotei
2. Clair Obscur
3. Death Stranding 2
In no particular order - cos I can't remember the order - Yotei, MGS3 and DS2 on the beach.
Twas a great year.
Ghost of Yotei, KCD2, either one should have won GotY instead of Claire Overhypa. Technically there are a bunch more qualified titles like MGS3, THPS 3+4, Oblivion, but remakes and remasters shouldn’t count in GotY runnings (although I’d be willing to break that rule if it meant knocking an overhyped game out of an undeserved position).
I don't think I've played any of those... my vote would go to Fatal Fury
Death Stranding 2 is easily my game of the year. Some amazing games this year, but Death Stranding 2 blew me away. Platinumed it and didn’t want it to end.
1. Death Stranding
2. Expedition 33
3. Cronos New Dawn
4. BallxPit
5. Ninja Gaiden Ragebound
Shout out to First Beserker, Hell is Us, and Metal Eden as also super enjoyable games.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter 🔥
Would have put a vote in for The First Berserker: Khazan
1) Clair Obscur
2) ARC Raiders
3) Ghost of Yotei
4) AC Shadows
5) MH Wilds
KCD2 in my backlog, along with DS2. Both look like games I'll love, but obviously I'm not going to vote for something I haven't played. Some great games on the long list for sure!
Expedition 33 is number 1 of course. Number 2 though I think I'd have to go with Dispatch actually. Really like that one more than I thought I would. 3rd would be Assassins Creed Shadows followed by Ghost of Yotei and coming in at 5 is Sonic Racing Crossworlds.
A great year indeed!
5 points: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
4 points: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
3 points: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
2 points: Forza Horizon 5
1 points: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
1/ The First Berserker Khazan
2/ Clair Obscur Expedition 33
3/ The Rogue Prince of Persia
Mine were:
(1) KCD 2 (Xbox)
(2) Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma (NS2)
(3) DK Bananza (NS2)
(4) The Outer Worlds 2 (PS5)
(5) Avowed (Xbox)
PS5 Only were:
(4)The Outer Worlds 2
(6) Ghost of Yotei
(7) RoadCraft
1. Hollow Knight Silksong
2. Elden Ring Nightreign
3. Expedition 33
4. MH Wilds
5. Doom Dark Ages
I'm waiting for Death Stranding 2 and Yotei to come to PC, I have KCD2 installed and waiting to be played, AC Shadows was fun, AI Limit and Khazan were great, Cronos and Dying Light Beast are on the backlog, Pipstrello was fantastic. That's off the top of my head at the moment lol.
1. KCD2
2. CLAIRRR
3. MHWilds
PushSquare's true goty will be the one in the no.2 spot. No.1 is reserved for PlayStatuon else they get shutdown. 😂
Clair Obscur, Silksong, KCD2, Absolum, and Oblivion Remastered for me. It’s been a sensational year for gaming.
I tried to right a wrong by giving kcd2 all the points😂 it wouldn't let me ,so i gave it 5 , cant remember the others, it wasn't e33 i know that😂
Hard to believe that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii released this year. Seems like an eternity ago.
Dear friend @Deadlyblack
Hollow Knight Silksong = Number 1
Seeing all those titles make me realize what a crazy good gaming year 2025 was. And next year could be even better 😯
Clair obscur is an easy winner for me
Oblivion remastered was put out long enough ago to make this list. It populates this list right now and still hasn't been patched, therefore is still a broken mess. So I ask, why is it on this list???
Borderlands 4 too. The game shipped with a memory leak months ago that still isn't patched. hahaha
The GA's need to start 2 new categories for awards "least broken mess at release" award. And "most broken release" award.
Go Expedition 33!
If kingdom come 2 doesn’t win this then I give up hope
1) E33
2) KCD2
3) Yotei
4) Death Stranding 2
5) Mafia The Old Country
I’ve played video games probably all but 10 days this year. And oddly enough, I’ve not played a single one of the games on this list.
Edit: I stand corrected. Missed ARC Raiders on the list. Since it’s the only one I’ve played, and it’s great, it gets my vote.
1) Clair
2) Obscur
3) Expedition
4) 3
5) 3
Just kidding, I don’t like Mario & Luigi, so I‘m not interested in E33.
But maybe one day I will try KCD2. It has the potential for a stone cold classic, like a smaller brother of Witcher 3.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is getting robbed again!
The Top 3 are easy for me, after that it gets harder.
The real RPG of the year Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is at least my personal GotY.
How many miles you've wandered, at such a grueling pace. Rest your feet, dear maiden, sit here... upon my face
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Cronos: The New Dawn
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Ghost of Yotei
Sword of the Sea
Clair Obscur, Hell is Us, Cronos, Sword of the Sea out of principle alone.
1. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
2. Ghost of Yotei
3. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
4. Assassin's Creed Shadows
1. Trails in the Sky Remake
2. Wuthering Waves
3. Silent Hill F
4. Dispatch
5. Ghost of Yotei/Borderlands 4
If I was to include Switch 2 games as well then it would look a bit different.
1. Trails in the Sky Remake
2. Donkey Kong Bananza
3. Wuthering Waves
4. Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma
5. Hundred Line Last Defence Academy
1. Metal Gear Solid Delta
2. Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered
3. Final Fantasy Tactics
4. Indiana Jones
5. The Precinct
A couple of my favorite choices were sort of omitted in the voting this year for me.
Here’s what I voted for:
1. Death Stranding 2
2. Silksong
3. Blue Prince
4. Arc Raiders
5. Absolum
I would’ve voted for To a T, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, and Once Upon a Katamari over the last two options though when it comes to PS5.
Can’t wait for the gommage to come and scrub E33 out of the GotY discussion. I hope our humble community can give literally any other game GotY.
1. KCD2
2. Death Stranding 2
3. MGS Delta
4. Yotei
5. Battlefield 6
Abiotic Factor came out on PlayStation this year so that easily gets my vote. It's also the only game I played that came out this year so I'm not voting.
1. Death stranding
2. Co33
3. Ninja gaiden 4
1.Ghost Yotei
2.Monster Hunter Wilds
3. OBLIVION Remastered
I would Have had Digimon Story Time Stranger as my #2 but the editorial staff mistakenly left it off the list. An oversight I'm sure 😅
i voted the one i enjoyed more, otherwise a lot of great games.
Dying light the beast
Split Fiction
Clair Obscur
Indiana jones
Silent hill f
My Top 5 is as follows.
1: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
2: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
3: Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
4: Hollow Knight: Silksong
5: Silent Hill F
I feel like prince of Persia should be on this list
How serious is my backlog? I have not tried a single game on the list 😅 So im abstaining from voting. Games I finished this year? Witcher 3, FFXVI, Phantom Liberty, RE4 Remake, Alan Wake remaster.
1 - Death Stranding 2
2 - Yotei
3 - Assassins Creed
4 - E33
5 - Ball Pit
I know it’s not a popular choice but I gave CRONOS: The New Dawn my top vote. It was just such a well done and fun experience.
Expedition 33
Final Fantasy Tactics
Trails in the Sky FC
That's all I played off this list.
E33 is my game of this generation. I know some are over the hype. It hit for me in basically every way a game can. I literally went through every emotion playing it for the first time.
@Splat Feel the exact same. It's an all timer. A game that will stick with me for many years to come
Can't, no games I played or respected this year are on the list. Pipistrello was fair, not played enough of it yet though. Among other Indies that were decent this year.
Echoes of the End I helped someone with and respected it's brilliant ideas/refinements.
Otherwise played FMV games, visual novels and other genre stuff but not for long. Only beat retro games mostly otherwise.
This year was bad, like any other. 2024/2025 are the worst and had no games I really cared for.
Maybe Prime 4 but I haven't bought it and don't think much of it.
To me Rhythm Heaven Groove on Switch (Nintendo IP) is the only thing I care about in 2026.
Tomb Raider may be fair but depends how it's executed, if like Tomb Raider 2013 of good tombs/mundane items used for interesting level design good, if not pass, the elder/monster co-op game at the Game Awards was interesting enough, despite other eh cozyy games, gave me Troll and I vibe but more fair, I mean a Peach flight move, for the elder character sure, or gives off the vibe of an anime with an office lady/creatures (not in the smut/bestiality way but a decent show) seems cool. Otherwise to me game awards was dark toned trailers and bad jokes so to me I wasn't into any of it.
Or many games this year.
I mean my PS breakdown was down to 2 racing games I don't like, an FMV game I platinumed and other things I played in my top 5 hour counts. Says a lot how much I think this year sucked.
Shows how much I didn't care to use my PS4 really either.
Still no interest in PS5/Series X at all. I can wait on some FMV games, some eh racing games, but other genres, eh, nothing compelling there and the others I'm not desperate for. Hardware for console/peripherals is great, well speced, but the games and use cases of peripherals software wise disappoints.
Clair obscur expedition 33 shinobi art of vengeance. Kingdom come deliverance 2.ghost of yotei.and doom the dark ages are my top 4.word up son
My number 1 game for the year isn't listed, but it's Wheel World. I've adored playing that game this year, it really captures the feeling of cycling, which I adore.
My 2-5 are Clair Obscure, Shinobi, Dispatch and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound. Fatal Fury would be an honorable mention. It's really fun but was also pretty disappointing as an entire package, following SF6 to me.
I voted for spider man.
expedition 33, Arc Raiders, and blue prince were standouts. Yotei is such a generic safe disappointment, it was only considered because it was basically the only thing put out from ps studios this year and they always get a shoe in for consideration regardless of their actual reception. Love it or hate it, everyone is still talking about E 33 because it was that impactful, same with Arc raiders.
Yotei and many more that were considered left the overall gaming sphere conversation in a week or less.
1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
2. Blue Prince
3. Fantasy Life i
4. Ghost of Yōtei
5. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
Expedition 33 is my GOTY by an enormous margin though.
@havoc33 If only I was as responsible as you are! In five years, I'd be like, "Hey guys, has anyone tried that new Ghostwire Tokyo game?"
A lot of overhyped games this year in my opinion, Arc Raiders got stale fast and I just didn't understand the appeal of Blue Prince, after 5 runs I just got bored. Dispatch and Silent Hill F great though and I do plan on getting Expedition 33 now that there's an easy mode (which got made even easier today), the souls like elements put me off originally. The indies Hades 2 and Silksong were just safe bets that didn't deviate much from the first games, Sony get ridiculed for making "samey" Sequels so these two should get the same treatment. Yotei was good but it wasn't anything mind blowing and the highest rated JRPG didn't even get a look in.
I find the lack of Sektori here disturbing
I would vote for Skate Story and Old School Rally but they're not in the list.
Next year GotY candidates will be a lot more interesting than this year. RE 9, Onimusha, Wolverine, Control Resonant, Phantom Blade Zero, Crimson Desert, Pragmata, Saros ect. Lot's of banger.
But sadly, GTA 6 gonna win...if it doesn't get delayed.
Clair Obscur is deserved as an innovator in its respective genre, and also as a statement on how (relatively) lower budget sleeper hits typically supercede the vacuous "AAA" big name titles. Predominantly because the devs /designers seem to actually care to create a strong game with an interesting narrative.
I would go as far as to say that, at least mechanically, Clair Obscur far surpasses Persona, which very obviously inspired it.
Ghost of Yotei is an easy win with nothing else even close.
The list is missing Lost Soul Aside, which whilst nowhere near my 1st pick, would have been on my list.
I've only played E33 on this list
1) Expedition 33
2) Ghost of Yotei
3) Death Stranding 2
4) Silksong
5) Blue Prince
It’s actually criminal that Arc Raiders is only sitting at 2%
Trails in The Sky not being an option invalidates this list.
@somnambulance I can understand and respect people saying 'E33 isn't on my list because here's five games I enjoyed more' or 'it's not on my list because I just couldn't get on with x mechanic or y interface' or even laying out a clear argument as to why its sometimes derivative nature is off-putting, or how other games did those things better. But this trend of people wishing it to do badly because it has been so successful, or because it beat out a game you were rooting for at the made-up Keighley Awards is such a negative human trait. Why do we feel the need to bash stuff that's successful? Some great-looking games in your post, and I'll make a point of checking out the ones I haven't.
P.S. It's 'gommage'.
1.Arc Raiders
2.BF6
3.E33
4.MSFS24
5.Yotei
1. KCD2
2. Death Stranding 2
3. Yotei
@Marquez Edited the word, must’ve misspelled it elsewhere too!
I honestly don’t want E33 to do badly. I just want to see other games have success. I liked the game when it launched, but I thought it was a bit more average than most others, I suppose. There’s no rewarding exploration, there’s the whole tossing a new antagonist faction toward the end without developing them at all thing, there’s the definite burn out on parrying towards the end of the game type of thing for me, of course, but realistically I’m tired of the continuous hype cycle the game has received this year. I get that some people really love the game. I do. But it just feels like everywhere you turn, there’s been an E33 story basically exalting the game and I’m just a little spent on it. Could be PTSD from the time I went to the grocery store wearing a Final Fantasy shirt and someone wearing an E33 shirt randomly started talking to me, telling me how much better E33 is than FF when I completely disagree with that. Again, I liked the game, but I’m oversaturated with it, and I also feel it’s not very nice to “celebrate the industry” by giving it all the awards when there’s a decent amount of games this year that deserve awards. I didn’t even like KCD2, but to say it’s not the best RPG this year? To not credit Silksong as indie game of the year (let’s be real, if E33 is an indie, you might as well lob Death Stranding up there as an indie)? I’m droning, but I’m just ready for another year where there’s discussion instead of a single game being practically groomed into winning all awards.
And thank you for checking out the rest of my list. I try at year end to get notice out toward lesser known titles that I’d enjoyed throughout the year. Hope there’s a hidden gem you enjoy in my list! There’s plenty of fantastic games to recommend this year. There’s been well over 20 games on the 7/10+ spectrum for me that I’ve played, which is a pretty solid year, in my opinion.
@somnambulance Definitely a great year overall, and 100% onboard with the KCD2 discourse - though the devs coming out saying they were robbed is probably not a good look!
1. Indiana Jones (what a fun game!!)
2. E33
3. Dispatch
4. Mafia Old country
5. Ghost of Yotei (it was good, just too similar to Ghost of Tsushima, which I had played a few months before)
No Sektori? I know it wouldn't have got anywhere but would have been my 4 points. (KCD2 5, E33 3 and filler for the two and one)
@somnambulance i loved the game when it was first released , but after all the nonsense , best game ever made , greatest rpg ever , its like theyve never played any rpg for the last few decades , im starting to kind of hate it , stupid blurry graphics , depressing tone , every fight is basically the same , find weakness, hit parry hit, and its pompous music, which when translated has the gravitas of feliz navidad, yes its getting on my tiddies 😂
@Marquez it’s not the most professional thing, of course, but I’m sure there’s a lot of people that feel jilted about the Game Awards this year, so I can understand their viewpoint. I know my watching party was rolling eyes at all the awards Expedition 33 got. We’d all played E33 and we all liked it, but even those amongst us that liked it most were starting to get snarky about the game winning so much. Glad we didn’t make E33 wins a drinking game because we contemplated it. We also contemplated making gatcha trailers a drinking game though. Lol.
I don’t remember my group getting like that when TLOU, Part 2 won everything though, and we were a bit divisive on that game. Got to be honest, if the hype train didn’t sit solely in E33 station, it would’ve been interesting to see what else would’ve won things.
My favorite game of the year came out in '24, but I didn't play it until this year - Broken Roads.
I only bought/played one game that actually released in '25, & lucky for me, it was a good one (my 2nd favorite game this year) - Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
@lazarus11 Yeah, I sort of get the vibe that that’s how a lot of people are feeling about the game. The constant hype cycle for it has certainly made my friends sour on it. I don’t think I’ve ever quite seen a game get SO MUCH continuous coverage. Not even Elden Ring or Baldur’s Gate 3 (to use modern examples) got this level of coverage and both of those games seemed bigger, culturally.
I get the vibe that E33 was a lot of people’s first JRPG.
@somnambulance For those people I'd remind them it's not THE Game Awards (sorry King Keighley) it's A game awards - I hope between TGA, Golden Joysticks, BAFTA and DICE everyone gets the recognition they deserve.
Should have split the room in two and gone for E33 win drinks versus Gatcha... that would have been lethal!
And TLOU2, decisive you say?
Wasn't able to vote since my PS5 game of the year (Trails Through Daybreak II) wasn't listed. womp womp
@Marquez I’m just hoping for diversity from Pushsquare. I trust the staff here. Lol. And I know Nintendo Life’s going to be forced to deliberate between Bananza and Silksong, which is much more to my personal taste!
The sad thing is I won’t be able to escape E33 this holiday season either thanks to the Dorito Pope. As a resident gamer of the family, I’m going to be asked about this game A LOT in the very near future because of the coverage the game gets.
The most lethal one would’ve been “Take a shot every time you’re bewildered by something.” Man, I would’ve been toasted by Megaman getting a sequel, only for it to be a 2027 announcement!
It was the early hours of the morning here in the UK so I only had two drinks which, to be fair, was one for every Tomb Raider.
Pretty sure the PS staff will represent broadly across their own personal picks.
Of the limited new games I played this year, Expedition 33 and Fantasy Life i were my favorite non-Nintendo games, so those get my vote.
“Sorry, you must pick 3 options.”
Sorry, the only 2025 game I’ve played is Ghost of Yotei!
@ApostateMage By 'robbed', I presume ypu mean beaten fair and square in a public vote where it's currently fourth?
I haven’t played or had the desire to play any of them. It’s been a bad year for the PS5 for me personally.
Guessing BBC iplayer wins then?
Death Stranding 2 and Cronos are my top 2. Utterly amazing games. MGS 3 was also memorable for me. Great year!!
V points: Expedition 33
IV points: Ninja Gaiden Ragebound
III points: Shinobi Art of Vengeance
II points: Kingdom Come Deliverance II
I point: Silent Hill F
@CrispyMango92 Why vote for game of the year if you only played one game?
The only games I've played this year that are on the list are Silksong and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance and I haven't finished Silksong yet. Hopefully will have time in the holidays to do plenty gaming and get stuck into my backlog in 2026.
Edit: Yooka-Replaylee and Pipestrillo and the cursed yo-yo are missing from the options.
Pipestrillo would have been in my Top 5 if it had been an option, which it absolutely should have been. Great game!!!
Man, I guess I just don't have time for games anymore. 50 games listed and there's only one I've played, and as much as I enjoy BL4 for what it is, it's definitely not Game of the Year material.
No hundred line or Pac-Man? Those were gonna be my picks, damn.
Guess I’ll go with the usual Yakuza and dynasty Warriors, can’t let them down. 💪
What is the value of such poll in a obviously biased environment..?
Seriously, Ghost of Yōtei.. which is basically A Tsushima with some small changes? A DS2 which is basically a lazy sequel?
This poll results are same value like asking on Xbox forum what is better Forza or GT.. and you know a result just before it starts
@species It was a very good game? To be honest I don’t really care. My comment was more tongue in cheek.
my bottom three games released in 2025
12. atom fall
13. mindseye
14. clair obscur e33
I hardly touched my PlayStation this year except tried Blue Prince, which I found to be somber and depressing. I just started the physical GameStop exclusive version of Clair Obscur last night on the Portal and I enjoyed it for about three hours before going to bed. It’s pretty good so far, but I’m not sure it reaches the heights of of prior games of the year. I recently just spent 200 hours playing Hades 2 on OLED Switch which is my personal GOTY.
1. Ghost of Yotei
2. Trails in the Sky Remake
3. Death Stranding 2
4. Hell is Us
5. Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Missed the chance to vote, but the most fun I've had on PS5 this year is 3 back to back playthroughs of Ninja Gaiden 4!
@BuddhaBabboo
Missed too, the survey closed too soon.
