Previously planned to launch by the end of this year, mod support for The Witcher 3 on consoles — including PS5 — has now been delayed into 2026.
This is to be the open world RPG's final, final update, allowing console players to take advantage of community-driven creations.
However, CD Projekt Red clearly needs a little more time to get everything working properly. We can't imagine that the process of implementing cross-platform mod support is particularly easy.
As for what to actually expect of the mod support when it does eventually arrive, the developer has said that "many", not all mods will be available on PS5 and Xbox. But this is pretty much what you'd expect, given the sheer breadth of mods available on PC.
We're looking forward to seeing what mods will be up for grabs next year, then. But what about you? Would you be tempted to replay The Witcher 3 for the sake of mods? Give Geralt a whole new haircut in the comments section below.
