MindsEye developer Build a Rocket Boy has announced it's pushing back the previously confirmed Hitman level it has in store for its colossal PS5 failure.
Previously set to arrive this month, the mission featuring Agent 47 has now been delayed indefinitely. "We look forward to delivering this exciting crossover when the time is right and will provide further updates as soon as we’re able," added the developer in a Twitter post detailing other updates for the console and PC versions.
The tweet also covers two patches arriving for MindsEye in August and September. Next month sees the PS5 flop get the ability to skip cutscenes, and the September update brings "continued performance and gameplay improvements on all platforms, alongside a number of enhancements to core gameplay mechanics".
A collaboration with Hitman was made possible by the fact IO Interactive published MindsEye, the same developer that makes the Hitman games. The post-launch level is supposed to let you play as Agent 47 in a new mission designed by Build a Rockey Boy.
As the studio confirms redundancy processes are taking place, however, who knows whether the mission will ever actually see the light of day. Lead developers in the company want to create a "redemption arc" ala No Man's Sky, but since it's laying so many employees off, who will be around to try and make that a reality?
