Resident Evil Code Veronica

Capcom will announce PS2 classic Resident Evil: Code Veronica as its next remake project to release, with a full reveal planned for later this year, according to new reports.

Dusk Golem, who has a history of reporting leaks and sharing details on upcoming horror titles, teased a Code Veronica remake will be confirmed "later this year", not a Resident Evil 5 one.

This is in response to a teasing social media post from Sheva Alomar's voice actor surrounding some "fun things" lined up for Resident Evil's 30th anniversary in March. Some fans think a Resident Evil 5 remake is one of them, but according to Dusk Golem, it's Code Veronica up next.

A remake of Resident Evil Zero is also said to be in the works, and VGC has corroborated this claim along with the new version of Code Veronica. IGN has also backed the report in previous articles.

Capcom has been working to a schedule over the past few years of alternating between new mainline Resident Evil titles and then a remake of a classic. With Resident Evil Requiem planned for launch next month, history would suggest another remake will be next.

Resident Evil Requiem is out for PS5 on 27th February 2026, and it brings back fan favourite Leon for a journey back to Raccoon City alongside series newcomer Grace Ashcroft. Once their adventure is over, it appears Capcom plans to return to Rockfort Island.
