Bandai Namco Teases 'New RPG', to Be Revealed This Week

Fromsoft? Me thinks

Am I mad to think it may be FromSoft??

All I want is more FromSoftware (traditional FromSoft, not that Nightreign crap with its awful gameplay loop for people with a Fortnite IQ). Sadly, I’m betting this is some unrelated generic anime rpg from a Bandai IP which will use that copy&paste visual aesthetic that makes all those types of games blur together and become indistinguishable from one another.

Barely any footage, but my initial thought is it’s not fromsoft just based on the fact that all their titles are all pretty dark in tone. This doesn’t look like it fits their aesthetic. More than happy to be wrong though.

Edit: also, after receiving investment from tencent and Sony, I think fromsoft were moving towards self publishing internationally. Therefore I don’t even know if their next game would be under Bandai Namco

Hopefully its not just more anime slop. Thats about 90% of there catalog nowadays.

That art style looks absolutely nothing like a FromSoftware game. Don't fool yourselves.

Obviously this is a FromSoft game based on Firefly/Serenity. Duh.

Nice a little something to look forward to. Ultimately I've really enjoyed many of namco's rpgs

Genuinely dislike these announcements announcing an announcement.

It builds up hype over something that will likely disappoint. As a company, that's not really something you want - and as players, I hate to continuously get disappointed.

Scarlett Nexus 2 would be great. It's been a decent amount of time since the first one, and the first game sold well and it was a fun time.

@Balaam_ 100% with you. Nightreign and Duskbloods both are a waste of Fromsoft's genius and resources. We fromsoft diehards want them to stick to their strength. The most epic Souls-bornes we can get. (Lies of P/Lords of the fallen fantastic, but nothing else has the Fromsoft secret sauce)

Therefore please let this be a new From game. Its been a minute since Elden ring. I need that itch scratched

Bandai Namco publishes so many games it's really tough to guess who it could be from. Be really cool to be a From Soft game but ya never know.

I am absolutely seated for this. Monster Hunter Stories 3 proves that BanCo can adapt their RE engine into a proper anime-style JRPG and it still looks amazing. MH:Stories 3 also a lot more mature than the other two prequels, so I'm absolutely looking forward to this reveal.

The JRPG-girl in me is really happy.
