Guilty Gear Strive update 2.00 will arrive on the 9th April, essentially refreshing the entire game.

In a move that's reminiscent of re-releases like Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2, Strive 2.00 will see the introduction of a new mechanic and a significant rework of existing characters.

2.00 will also pave the way for Season 5, which of course is built around a new Season Pass. Two new DLC characters have been announced, having been heavily teased last year.

Jam returns on the 9th April (she looks amazing in the below trailer), and Robo-Ky is coming at some point this summer. Two more characters will be dropping in winter 2026 and spring 2027, respectively.

This 2.00 reveal isn't without controversy, however. Arc System Works has confirmed that it'll be bringing a kind of battle pass system to Strive, which will feature character cosmetics and additional content.

At the time of writing, it's unclear whether you'll need to buy the battle pass to unlock all of the new stuff, or whether some of it will be available through just playing the game.
