Bloodborne for me! My first From game, and it drew me in more than any other on the list. Loved absolutely everything about it, from the atmosphere through to the score and the bonkers lore, that I really enjoyed reading up on.
@naruball and your allowed to make that statement, whether it’s ridiculous or not. But the fuel of these departures isn’t backing yours is it? That’s all I was saying. You can say these departures mean something, or you can say they don’t. Let’s see if we get anything substantial from Japan studio anytime soon or not.
@Shepherd_Tallon that’s a perfectly reasonable conclusion, yet the outcome is still the same, is it not? A smaller budget for the Japanese territory in general.
@naruball but the argument here is that they are losing interest in Japan, instead focusing on the western market. You saying that anyone could come to that conclusion doesn’t disprove it.
At least sites are getting plenty of clicks with this release! Article after article on here, and the amount of comments per piece shows them he reason why.
The Witcher Upgrade is being outsourced to the team that did the Switch version anyway (Saber), so they won’t have to worry about that much. I also imagine the free DLCs’ are already developed as they are typically only visual additions cut from the base game anyway(armour, skins, perhaps some mods or new cyberware). Once they’ve fixed the poor versions, they’ll probably treat that as a fresh start and move from there. It’ll still have a major affect on the expansions and MP standalone release though. I don’t think they’re ready for the demands players have with MP releases. Fast patching, regular content etc won’t be easy and I think they’re realising this now they’re in the crosshairs with people demanding fixes NOW. Gwent was a warm up, but card games vs a GTA online like game are completely different ball games.
I would use this feature! There is a mistake in the article as well, it doesn’t downscale 4K to 1440p. It downscales 4K to 1080p and then the monitor upscales 1080p to 1440p, so you end up with this blurry mess. That was the problem.
At the end of the day, I see no problem with Sony broadening it’s compatibility. The console isn’t cheap, it’s 2020 and it does zero harm to anyone else.
I didn’t manage to get very far in this game, one reason was down to the constant stutter present in this game. It’s the first WWS game I stopped playing due to performance issues. I also felt it suffered from the same problem Horizon did with its open world, where there were enemies every 2 seconds in the world leaving no ‘breathing room’ and no time to take in the world they created.
That obviously won’t be fixed here! But the performance upgrade will be substantial, so I’ll definitely be giving it another go!
@get2sammyb this question is a little out there (!) but, what resolutions are listed in the display settings? There were some threads going around due to BenQ claiming that PS5 supports 1440p, and I’m not entirely convinced. Wondered if there was truth to this or not.
I’m holding off for the PS5 and that 60fps mode, but the wait is proving more and more difficult!
@ShogunRok I have a question, can you start NG+ from a NG+ save? Like HZD? It may be tempting to give it another run with the new gear from NG+ in the future if that’s possible. Cheers
I’m sure I’ll use it early on whilst there aren’t as many next gen games, it’ll be nice to see some updates for more first party games. But I’m not sure I’ll be using it much 12+ Months in.
@HotGoomba any stereo headphones will work with the 3D audio, as it'll output the audio through the 3.5mm Jack, USB ports for people with USB audio setups and eventually, the HDMI port.
You’ll be betters off buying a solid pair of stereo headphones, rather than investing in these. Especially now Sony are providing a native Virtual surround solution on the system. Of course if you’re on a tighter budget, these might hold more value depending on how they review, but don’t feel as if your completely restricted to these to experience 3D audio on PS5 as its now open to ALL headphones.
Hyper X clouds have always been popular online for people on a budget.
I know it sounds like a lot of work has gone into it, but looking around at other releases and upgrades that are free, it really isn’t anything special! Some Xbox releases are getting substantial free upgrades, Cyberpunk and the Witcher will be getting them, many cross gen games are also getting upgrades very close in calibre to this.
I just think this is poor across the board from Sony. And when they announce the paid remasters for TLOU 2 etc, there will be uproar. The reason I’m assuming there’ll be paid upgrades is due to this Spiderman release. These upgrades are what we expect from games being patched for a next gen. Sonys set a precedent with this, if they don’t stay consistent more questions will be asked of this Spiderman release.
I assumed that statement meant they’ll continue to publish their currently announced games on the systems they’ve announced them for, but for the future I don’t think we’ll see Playstation releases. PC + Xbox
How about they just make 1 Playable Character, and they make it the one they want. No more duel Characters, no more trying to satisfy everyone, just make one damn good character whether it be male or female and develop a game around them
This is absolute nonsense as it completely ignores Microtransactions! Pubs are making money hand over fist in their games. Poor excuse, considering that the added Microtransactions won’t get any better, in fact, I’m sure they’ll get worse next generation.
Gameplay has always been my problem with TLOU. I thinks it’s fairly limited in its level design as well, but that’s to be expected considering it’s at it’s core a PS3 game. Hopefully Part 2 fixes some, of not all, of these problems! 🤞
@get2sammyb Hi Sammy! You mentioned 3D audio in the review, do you still require a PlayStation headset to receive it? Or has Sony opened it up to all for TLOU. Would be nice to get a taste of their 3D audio prior to the PS5 launch. Cheers
The minute I saw certain gameplay elements, such as the Checklist to complete the Enemy camp, I knew Ubi would be brought up by many online. It’s hard to ignore it. Still.... I’m 100% day 1 as I love Sucker Punch and am still really interested in this game, but watching this did make me think it perhaps won’t review as well as I originally expected! Still really looking forward to it though... more so than TLOU PT2
@AFCC I wouldn’t assume more staff = better quality. It just allows Ubi to pump out games quicker. This’ll no doubt be another 100+hr game, with ridiculous scope and if they hit the fall target, they’ve managed to develop it in 3 years (Valhalla development began in 2017). Mighty impressive really!
@Enuo it’s clearly not going to bomb, but blanketing the people disliking the apparent story as Homophobes is a bit exaggerated and poorly directed isn’t it? Maybe you also might want to get off Twitter and out into the real world.
(Though not literally of course, stay in, save lives and protect the NHS etc etc etc!)

This sounds good, but not £70 good.

Bloodborne for me! My first From game, and it drew me in more than any other on the list. Loved absolutely everything about it, from the atmosphere through to the score and the bonkers lore, that I really enjoyed reading up on.
Runner up would be between GoW and UC4.

@get2sammyb Which side do you take in this Japan situation then? Has the focus changed or not?

Is Jim Ryan really going too admit to them increasingly focusing their interest on the west? These departures support Bloomberg’s article.

Dissapointing! Surely they’d want to appeal to as many people as possible. Seems like a no brainer to add some extra support for potential PC buyers.

I don’t see the next gen leap, personally. 60fps will be very nice, but you then lose a lot of the visual bells and whistles.

Horizon, Demon Souls and Kena for me. All looked fantastic, and truly ‘next-gen’.
