Update: Patch 1.06 is available to download now on PS4. It weighs in at a very reasonable 1.7GB.
Here's a quick look at what the Traveller's Attire is now capable of, courtesy of Reddit.
As you can see, a large firefly now leads you to collectables when you have the outfit equipped.
Original Story: Ghost of Tsushima's getting another update, but don't expect any game-changing additions. It'll be available "later today" (that's the 5th August if you happen to be reading this article further down the line).
The highlight of patch 1.06 is that the Traveller's Attire is being made more effective. Previously, wearing the outfit would allow you to track down collectables such as Mongol artefacts and records. As you got closer to an item, the controller would vibrate. But with this update, the Traveller's Attire comes with "visual and audio" cues to let you know when something's nearby. It sounds like you'll be able to customise these cues to suit your needs.
You can find the full patch notes below.

Excellent! Never use controller vibration but love that armor. Good news!
@Medic_Alert i was exactly the same tho at first i kept forgetting to change outfits and wonder why i only got 3 standoff kills lol
Of course this patch comes out the day after I went collectible hunting fml
Nice. That's what my Jin wears all the time.
He almost looks like a cowboy haha
Did they fix the bug yet where you can’t get out of the area you are crawling in?
A load out option for the gear would be very very helpful
Very welcome addition.i don't know why but controller vibrations always make me uneasy. Hopefully that's something the Dualsense can fix.
I want faster horse movement in normal horse walk, hours played stats in savegame (like ff7 remaster & nier automata), and I want travel attire bonus to be included in new charms. The travel attire is too poweful, if you want to collect and explore there's no better attire, it make other attires useless.
All I really want is NG+ (even though I’m far from finishing it myself!) and an improved camera. Oh, and some DLC further down the line would be nice 😉
I've been using Traveller's Attire almost constantly because visually its easily my favourite from what i've played (still early into Act 2), the cape is so cool with the wind and when you find the guy what lets you colour things white the outfit looks gorgeous.
I platinumed it a few days ago. Loved it. This change to the Traveller's Attire would've been useful though as I actually ended up using wind direction to locate items as the rumble was way too vague.
I just did the Ghosts of the Past Mission. I'm about 40hrs in and still loving it.
Platinum'd it in a week(Ty Covid for 2wks of no work), Visual aid is a wonderful touch but I still need NG+ to rock that Immaculate gear. Gyozens Blindfold & Brutal Bandit mask ftw.
Btw I wear the Travelers attire (dyed Black) with the Thief's mask and the Headband of the Second Son
@Wsritucci37 ya thts annoying bug. I noticed you have to crawl out backwards if u get stuck
crawling. Just fyi
Thanks, but I've already got the Platinum and fastidiously tracked down all collectables. Perhaps we could have even more photo mode options including more filters and maybe some borders and logos? Oh, and make it easier to choose thunder and actually get a lightening strike in shot as opposed to switching the animation on and off and praying to the Gods!
@Medic_Alert @WallyWest Also love the traveler's outfit! Was hoping the fix was going to be the awful clipping that happens with the cape, but what can you do!
@LTJguy - Pretty sure that's not a bug, if you mean when Jin gets 'stuck' and pushing straight forward on the stick does nothing, tilt it forward left or forward right and he wriggles out just fine.
I think it’d be awesome if you could have an option to hide or show the cape on max ghost armor. 🤔🤷🏽♂️
It’d be great to have an option to show or hide cape on max ghost armor. Just my opinion...
When I tapped x on “LOAD GAME” it went to “save game” and the idiot that I am accidentally saved my wife’s game over mine. Why the actual eff would “load game” ever go to a save game screen?! Now I’m gonna have to wait long enough until I don’t remember in order to start a new game.
Hi , thanks for the update .
There's one thing that always bugs me in a middle of a fight , when the game slows down then stops to force you to switch stance . It's nice that it tells you how to do it the first time but after that it gets pretty annoying especially when surrounded by 5 or 6 mongols all having a different weapon . It would be great to have the option to switch that off .
Best game I've played in a long long time btw , I've being waiting for a realistic open wold in feodal japan for a looong time ^^
Nice, there was a bug where traveler's attire makes the controller vibrate near guys that are carrying banners on their backs around yarikawa, that made me go a little crazy until I figured it out.
Also I would like an update that allows you to remove the bow and arrows from Jin's back with any armor. I like traveler's attire because it removes the bow and arrows and it looks sick in photo mode.
The main fixes we still need our being able to move time forward today or night. And being able to instantly swap out different armor sets
My name is William. Of course I will say that the ghost of tsushima is an exceptional game. It it's near perfect. The only problem that I have with it is that when you manually unsheathe jin's sword he'll put it away after a certain amount of time passes. I don't understand that at all. Off yours giving the player a mechanic whereas he cash manually take out jin's weapon then why do you have it so that he automatically put it away? Now I know that this is something that probably wouldn't bother most people but it annoys the hell out of me. I mean, even when jin is in an enemy camp he'll still put his sword away even when enemies are around. You gotta patch that hip. It doesn't make any logical whatsoever. To me that is what's keeping this game from her utter perfection. How you read this, and thank you for letting me comment.
I would love a full oni mask and a non broken kitsune mask
Anyone know if they fixed the black loading screen with sound bug? I have a save file waiting for a patch.
The horse's tale looks like it's made from origami - it folds and moves like paper. Not what what I expected in such a beautifully detailed game otherwise. Can this be improved in a patch?
@TobiasRieper This it happened to me last night (after that mission) I must have been at least half an hour wondering past the guys thinking what am I missing, I got so annoyed I just had to look online which I really didn't want to do as most things in this game don't need a guide but my lord tracking the flags on their backs 🤦♂️
@Medic_Alert that's the only way to roam.
Now if they can fix their broke tool and ammunition glitch. Where there game doesn't register your carry capacity upgrades and deletes half your ninja tools and arrows.
Maybe they should fix the dumb and buggy climbing sessions, especially fo the altars.
@Lycanthrope it only does that when you’re using a stance that’s ineffective against the enemy you’re fighting if I’m remembering right (i honestly can’t remember the last time it told me to switch stances). Switching stances to me got to be second nature after a while.
@MarcG420 yes I know that , regardless when you're facing 5 or 6 mongols all with different weapons like I said if you're blocking a sword while at the same time being attacked by a guy with a shield while another one with a spear is launching at you from a distance ... well you can't deal with everybody at the same time AND swtich stances multiple times . you sometimes have to deal with different kind of opponents with the same stance or you take damage it's inevitable . the slow down then stop thing become annoying pretty quick in these situations .
I play on lethal and you either stay in the same stance for a moment to block everybody or you just die on the spot .
that's cool and all, but I already obtained 100% of trophies last week. Hope to see a game changing update in time, maybe a free dlc or something, GoT might be the best game of the year. gameplay and story wise
I want them to fix the bug that causes you to lose ammo whenever you fast travel. It's something to do with the game not recognizing capacity upgrades and reverting your ammo count to basic capacity.
@Wsritucci37 It's your controller, need to get a new one. However, I wish they would patch it for people who don't have the best left analog stick.
@thefirst ya I haven't upgraded the attire because the long range vibration gets so annoying. Nice addition this one.
What I'd like most is for extra hearing to not be disabled every time I crawl over a wall or open a door.
Nice...... now, about that NG+....
"The Traveler’s Attire has been enhanced to add new visual and audio cues hinting at nearby collectibles. These cues can replace or augment controller vibration in order to offer a better, more accessible experience"
Well I've updated to 1.06, but I can't see any option to turn off the traveler's attire vibrations and add the visual/ audio cues instead. Can't see anything in the accessibility menu, just want to switch vibration off for travelers attire, not for the whole game.
Help appreciated! Cheers!
Since ths patch, my frame rate is dipping more than it was previously. Anyone else notice this?
Let's see some different blade materials, lengths, and styles!!!!
I just want sucker punch to fix the disappearing ammo bug, it is so frustrating when you stock up on ammo then fast travel to another location to take on an outpost or a new tale, only to find your ammo is back to the default levels!
@Dreman99 Yes a six hour rest/sleep command would be realistic and help us get the night or day we want for the mission we are doing.
