The Last of Us 2 Available for Pre-Order on PlayStation Store Again

Digital it is. I wouldn't normally pay this price but I have two PS4 Pro consoles, me and the gf can both play and not have to decide/argue who plays first. Feels more like £27.50 for each PS4 then. We'll probably still argue who gets the better TV. I want all that 4K HDR goodness for TLoU2.

I read and see the story yestarday, hope this game flop hard and Sony fire Druckman and put some order on ND.

I'm still pre-ordering this.

Fan fiction or not, I'll have to see the entire story and the context behind it myself to have a definitive answer, and the gameplay and visuals are truly magnificent.

@makina you hope a Sony first party studio fails because you don’t like something they are doing? Isn’t this a PlayStation centric website for PlayStation fans? I personally have no interest in the likes of MLB the show or the GT Sport but would love to see them do well. If you have no interest in this game and don’t intent to buy it or wish it well then why are even bothering to post about it?

@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Because people on online websites and forums are entitled to their opinions? Half of Naughty Dog’s staff aren’t happy with the agendas pushed in this product, that says something about the state of the game.

A lot of people are cancelling their pre-order after the leaks (and I agree with them), this situation is really bad for ND... :/

Take a look at Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann’s twitter pages and look at everyone’s responses to this leak; the same feelings are shared for all the right reasons.The information comes from an article that I’ve posted on this article but keeps getting removed by the moderators for some unknown reason.

I’ve seen some of the things posted on Twitter towards naughty dog and especially Neil Druckmann and it’s disgraceful, they are not a well thought out opinions they just reek of entitlement. @Fuzzymonkeyfunk So you approve of employees at Naughty Dog being unpaid and fired do you? People hate the decisions made by Neil and the studio for the right reasons and yet again, when some of the studio’s own workers don’t approve of the product, I’d say there’s more than enough reason for the dislike and hate.

This situation has become far too messy for me to wade too deep into. All I will say is that anyone expecting one of the biggest games of the year launching uncontested in a quiet month to bomb because a few homophobes are having a temper tantrum might want to get off of Twitter and spend some time in the real world for a change.

You must have no real world experience because people don’t get paid and get fired in any job in the world.

However . . . that its got people narked, suggests they haven't played it safe, and that makes me more curious to experience it for myself as intended . . . I actually have made my own opinion off the spoilers which presents the game as literal garbage and I guess in your dumb logic, everyone who disagrees with this direction Naughty Dog have taken is also “quite sad”. The article stories about “making characters more trans friendly” in a video game are concerning though, and remind me, unpleasantly, that Sony’s censorship policies are still a thing. I’ll also wait for the first reviews to pop up and decide afterwards if I should get the game.

Neato, but I'm going physical with this one. TLOU was one of my favourite last gen games, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Always liked the gameplay more than in Uncharted (still good, but the crafting on the fly makes it a bit more involved).

@Constable_What it’s never a bad thing to wait for reviews before buying. I have re-preordered but I’m a sucker for a first party 3rd person action/horror game 😊 Most games that come out now I either wait for reviews or wait till they drop to a price I’m willing to pay

I will absolutely be pre-ordering this game. Really can't wait for this. Have had nothing spoiled for myself, and hope to keep it that way. Naughty Dog is my favorite studio, and each of their releases are a big deal for me, and this being no different.
My only disappointment with this game is the departure of Bruce Straley. Would have loved to see a sequel with both Neil Druckmann and Straley directing, and finishing what they both started together.

Been sitting on a physical Special Edition on Amazon since September 2019.

They still have the regular available. Never pay full price digital if the Physical is still around

Wonder how many are gonna comment that they’re not preordering because “agenda this, agenda that”, or because of out of context cutscenes that you morons spoiled for yourselves without understanding the context behind any of it/getting the full picture. They stated a LONG time ago that this game was going to be about vengeance, anger, etc. I knew from the get not to expect the same tone from the sequel. I’m not spoiling it, or reading the spoilers because I’m one of the many that wants to experience it for himself. Everyone on the hate “this game isn’t the story I wanted told so it’s s—t and not buying it”. Boo hoo! There’s plenty of other games to play then, move on!

While I don’t like Naughty Dogs’ crunch culture, they have YET to make a critically panned game, so I’m gonna judge this one for myself. I find it a little weird that it was taken off and everyone was refunded when it was still gonna come out, especially when the final release date turned out to only be a few weeks later, but hey - it is what it is.

That being said, a few people are probably glad they did get refunded now.

Idk why people are fussing over Naughty Dog’s storyline ? They never created any game without a meaningful experience so please give them benefit of the doubt cuz they are one of the few developers who deserve it. Look at every character’s death in TLOU Part 1, they killed almost off everyone and still satisfied us cuz it made sense so please play the game with whole story instead of whining.

@Fuzzymonkeyfunk I don't agree with everything he's saying, but many sources have said that cancel culture is a big thing in Naughty Dog, that many developers aren't happy with the narrative direction, and anytime someone spoke up they got called a bigot or a "phobe" of sorts.

End of the day if you loved the first one just go out and buy it, ill buy it just for the sheer fact it will be a good game. I'm going in open minded. May just preordained digital so I can preload.

The world in tatters and people put all their expectations and frustrations on it and all the people involved to create it. It's just a game. And, most likely, a great one.

Thanks to the leaker I'm going to pass on this one, the gameplay might be better but the story looks horrible, I just gonna keep the good memories of the original on the PS3 and pretend this game doesn't exist

@oldschool1987 I think some people forget that at the end of the day it’s just a game. You hear a lot of stories so I suppose there’s no smoke without fire. If people aren’t happy with the way they think naughty dog are being run then they need to vote with their wallets.

For what it's worth, you really should play the first one in entirety. It's an amazing game. I would imagine not completing the first and then playing the second would make things a little confusing

I guess they were going to make it a PS5 launch game (bit slimey and low effort but I wouldn't put it past them) then thought better of it?... so I wonder why they brought it back again?... All seems very indecisive and discordant... And STILL no news on the system or much of the lineup... Dear dear.

June 19th is a long time to have to avoid spoilers. It can't be fixed now, but I think Naughty Dog should just have released on schedule. I know it wasn't to their satisfaction because they wanted everyone to play it at the same time, but the situation they were in before the leaks was about as good as it was going to get. It's debatable whether or not the leak still would have happened had they stuck with their May release date, but I'm betting things might have turned out differently.
