After being taken off of the PlayStation Store and refunds issued following the delay of The Last of Us: Part II, Sony has now reissued the listing to coincide with the new release date. Now launching on 19th June 2020 exclusively on PlayStation 4, the Naughty Dog sequel is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store again.
Just like before, two versions are on offer. A standard edition will net you a PSN avatar of Ellie's tattoo, an ammo capacity upgrade, and a crafting manual. Meanwhile, the Digital Deluxe Edition includes a digital soundtrack, mini art book, six PSN avatars, and a PS4 dynamic theme. They are available for pre-order at £54.99/$59.99 or £64.99/$69.99 respectively.
Are you going to pre-order The Last of Us: Part II once again? Pledge some money in the comments below.

Digital it is. I wouldn't normally pay this price but I have two PS4 Pro consoles, me and the gf can both play and not have to decide/argue who plays first. Feels more like £27.50 for each PS4 then. We'll probably still argue who gets the better TV. I want all that 4K HDR goodness for TLoU2.
No way in hell.
I read and see the story yestarday, hope this game flop hard and Sony fire Druckman and put some order on ND.
Just a friendly reminder that this is not the place to discuss The Last of Us: Part II spoilers, nor begin to hint at them.
@makina Some of you are really beginning to embarrass yourselves.
@makina If the game flops then it'll be more then one person fired but as long as one person is punished because you didn't like their story right?
I'm still pre-ordering this.
Fan fiction or not, I'll have to see the entire story and the context behind it myself to have a definitive answer, and the gameplay and visuals are truly magnificent.
I noticed you deleted my comment because I clearly gave a negative response to the game and didn’t actually spoil anything. Can I get a reason why please?
Edit: The link I gave on my previous post do not contain the spoilers, do the mods even read these articles correctly?
I'm not pre-ordering, but I will play this at some point. I'd feel like a massive sucker if I purchased this at full price.
I definitely would wait for reviews.
@Gladiator995 If you have an issue with moderation, please use the contact form: https://www.pushsquare.com/contact
@LiamCroft Why can’t you just answer my question? Is it because I gave a negative view of TLOU 2 due to the spoilers?
@Gladiator995 It is against the community rules to discuss moderation issues in public. If you have a problem, use the form.
@Quintumply Done, looking forward to the response.
@makina you hope a Sony first party studio fails because you don’t like something they are doing? Isn’t this a PlayStation centric website for PlayStation fans? I personally have no interest in the likes of MLB the show or the GT Sport but would love to see them do well. If you have no interest in this game and don’t intent to buy it or wish it well then why are even bothering to post about it?
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Because people on online websites and forums are entitled to their opinions? Half of Naughty Dog’s staff aren’t happy with the agendas pushed in this product, that says something about the state of the game.
@Gladiator995 so you also wish Ill on something because you don’t like it. I don’t care about agendas because I have a mind of my own and can make my own decisions and will not be influenced by a video game story. You must either work for naughty dog or personally know someone who does to have all this inside information!
A lot of people are cancelling their pre-order after the leaks (and I agree with them), this situation is really bad for ND... :/
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Uh yeah that’s called having an opinion on something pal. Take a look at Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann’s twitter pages and look at everyone’s responses to this leak; the same feelings are shared for all the right reasons. The information comes from an article that I’ve posted on this article but keeps getting removed by the moderators for some unknown reason.
@Gladiator995 there’s having an opinion and peddling hate because you don’t like something. I’ve seen some of the things posted on Twitter towards naughty dog and especially Neil Druckmann and it’s disgraceful, they are not a well thought out opinions they just reek of entitlement. That’s my opinion pal
This has been quite the roller coaster 🍿
the game might be too gritty for my taste, but we'll see. probably get it eventually...hope those who get it enjoy it!
Ordered. Now to dodge them spoilers like Sans on a genocide run for two months. Hmmm. One thing I've been wondering with all the storm in a tea cup "backlash" though, is when did straight dudes stop liking lesbians?
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk So you approve of employees at Naughty Dog being unpaid and fired do you? People hate the decisions made by Neil and the studio for the right reasons and yet again, when some of the studio’s own workers don’t approve of the product, I’d say there’s more than enough reason for the dislike and hate.
This situation has become far too messy for me to wade too deep into. All I will say is that anyone expecting one of the biggest games of the year launching uncontested in a quiet month to bomb because a few homophobes are having a temper tantrum might want to get off of Twitter and spend some time in the real world for a change.
@Starkei I don't think that's the problem, people knew this since the trailer.
Isn’t the story just an excuse to cross the post apocalyptic US killing stuff and solving puzzles?
@Gladiator995 you didn’t answer my earlier question..... do you work for naughty dog or know someone who works or worked for naughty dog because if you don’t you are just putting other people’s opinions up as your own, which is quite sad. You must have no real world experience because people don’t get paid and get fired in any job in the world.
@Cornaboyzzz I get it, people's main issue seems to be with the story direction. However . . . that its got people narked, suggests they haven't played it safe, and that makes me more curious to experience it for myself as intended . . . It's entirely possible that it is just bad and I'll join em come July.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk No, I got the information from articles that I just posted above. I actually have made my own opinion off the spoilers which presents the game as literal garbage and I guess in your dumb logic, everyone who disagrees with this direction Naughty Dog have taken is also “quite sad”. Try thinking for yourself sometime instead of acting like a consumer sheep.
@Gladiator995 @Fuzzymonkeyfunk Can we please put a stop to this argument based on rumours now? The comments section is designed to discuss the article at hand, the fact that The Last of Us: Part II is available for pre-order once again. This is off-topic.
@Gladiator995 at what point have I defended naughty dogs story decisions? I may very well not like the story and not agree with it, but you know what I won’t do is go bitch about it and send hateful messages to naughty dog. I just won’t play it again and move onto something else.
@LiamCroft Argument over peace out ✌️
Dang, Cascina Caradonna is a real hottie! <3
The article stories about “making characters more trans friendly” in a video game are concerning though, and remind me, unpleasantly, that Sony’s censorship policies are still a thing. I’ll also wait for the first reviews to pop up and decide afterwards if I should get the game.
@Starkei Yeah the story direction is... interesting to say the least. Stay away from spoilers as much as you can because you're in for one hell of a ride.
I'll just say that storyline smells fishy and doesnt even match the footage. Dont be gullible people.
Neato, but I'm going physical with this one. TLOU was one of my favourite last gen games, so I'm looking forward to this one.
Always liked the gameplay more than in Uncharted (still good, but the crafting on the fly makes it a bit more involved).
@lando I heavily doubt that tbh. I think it just comes down to wanting to depict women more realistically. Which makes sense considering how far technology has come, besides I don't the trans community would have that much influence in AAA gaming where most titles have to reach as many people as possible.
Regardless of the outcome, Sony will need to have a serious long look at how Naughty Dog is run.
@JJ2 oh, I dunno know about that! Hahaha
There's quite a few screens and clips that match up perfectly with what I, at least, dislike about the overarching narrative. Being gullible has nothing to do with being apprehensive, and I think waiting to preorder, for any game while I'm on about it, is the smart move.
@Constable_What it’s never a bad thing to wait for reviews before buying. I have re-preordered but I’m a sucker for a first party 3rd person action/horror game 😊 Most games that come out now I either wait for reviews or wait till they drop to a price I’m willing to pay
Where is the popcorn? I will get the game eventually but not full price. Heard its not the result of money or crunch but cancel culture. Wrtten by an australian website sausagerol something.
I will absolutely be pre-ordering this game. Really can't wait for this. Have had nothing spoiled for myself, and hope to keep it that way. Naughty Dog is my favorite studio, and each of their releases are a big deal for me, and this being no different.
My only disappointment with this game is the departure of Bruce Straley. Would have loved to see a sequel with both Neil Druckmann and Straley directing, and finishing what they both started together.
Been sitting on a physical Special Edition on Amazon since September 2019.
They still have the regular available. Never pay full price digital if the Physical is still around
@Enuo it’s clearly not going to bomb, but blanketing the people disliking the apparent story as Homophobes is a bit exaggerated and poorly directed isn’t it? Maybe you also might want to get off Twitter and out into the real world.
(Though not literally of course, stay in, save lives and protect the NHS etc etc etc!)
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk That's great man. I hope you enjoy it! I can't in good conscience buy this game at full price knowing what I know. I know I'm not really going to enjoy 50 percent of it.
@Constable_What Star Wars xD GoT season 8 and The last of us. I see what you did there Lol.
@Sanquine The LAST Jedi? The LAST of Us?
Coincidence? I think not!!! Hahaha
I mean, both those stories obviously aim to...ahem...subvert audience expectations... I must be a philistine because I don't appreciate a narrative being upended and uprooted for the worse in the name shock value.
What a load of GoT season 8, if you know what I mean. ;]
@DonJorginho As you should, as everyone whining should lol! No, let’s all hop on the hate bandwagon!
Wonder how many are gonna comment that they’re not preordering because “agenda this, agenda that”, or because of out of context cutscenes that you morons spoiled for yourselves without understanding the context behind any of it/getting the full picture. They stated a LONG time ago that this game was going to be about vengeance, anger, etc. I knew from the get not to expect the same tone from the sequel. I’m not spoiling it, or reading the spoilers because I’m one of the many that wants to experience it for himself. Everyone on the hate “this game isn’t the story I wanted told so it’s s—t and not buying it”. Boo hoo! There’s plenty of other games to play then, move on!
@JesWood13 Morons? Where are the moderators?
@LiamCroft
Are staff members taking shots at readers considered off topic? Asking for a friend.
@Constable_What
Oh that's not what I mean. What people buy or not isnt my concern. I'm not even interested. Just I dont like misinformation and I believe there s some fake statements going on. Wont get into details of course.
All in all, theres too much drama and passion. Take it or leave it who cares?
If I wanted a agenda forced in my face I'd watch cnn. I will save my money for ghost
Looking forward to it, avoiding all spoilers and not everything is about story, heck I thought the first story was bang average. It's about gameplay and immersion, if they nail it again it will be good.
@JJ2 When people invest time, money, and energy into something it's reasonable to be passionate.
Aside from one thing in particular (which is a 4chan meme, I'm sure), I don't believe there are many false statements. If there were Naughty Dog would have said so, and they would have to keep the hype from deflating.
I enjoy the discussions about this though.
@Sanquine Oh no! You’re gonna tell on me! Someone call the internet cops! I said people were morons for jumping on a bandwagon! God forbid developers tell the story they wanna tell! While I don’t like Naughty Dogs’ crunch culture, they have YET to make a critically panned game, so I’m gonna judge this one for myself. Unlike everyone jumping on the “agenda” “This isn’t the story I wanted told, so it sucks” bandwagon .
Agendas? Cancel culture? Woke? WHAT DO YOU ALL MEAN?!
I find it a little weird that it was taken off and everyone was refunded when it was still gonna come out, especially when the final release date turned out to only be a few weeks later, but hey - it is what it is.
That being said, a few people are probably glad they did get refunded now.
Idk why people are fussing over Naughty Dog’s storyline ? They never created any game without a meaningful experience so please give them benefit of the doubt cuz they are one of the few developers who deserve it. Look at every character’s death in TLOU Part 1, they killed almost off everyone and still satisfied us cuz it made sense so please play the game with whole story instead of whining.
O ya I'm pre ordering it for the 2nd time
The story is terrible
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk I don't agree with everything he's saying, but many sources have said that cancel culture is a big thing in Naughty Dog, that many developers aren't happy with the narrative direction, and anytime someone spoke up they got called a bigot or a "phobe" of sorts.
Not verified, but a few sources and articles have brought it up.
@No_Cartridge define hate speech. I've seen none here.
End of the day if you loved the first one just go out and buy it, ill buy it just for the sheer fact it will be a good game. I'm going in open minded. May just preordained digital so I can preload.
The world in tatters and people put all their expectations and frustrations on it and all the people involved to create it. It's just a game. And, most likely, a great one.
By the way, I'm "concerned" with Elven Ring. Where is it?!
Conservatives are such snowflakes
@PSbest And also, seemingly, motivated by a burning sense of social injustice.
@PSbest Trivia i am left leaning. I vote every 4 years for the Green party in the Netherlands. Your a snowflake for thinking people are againsr tlou because ellie is gay. I knew that since tlou left behind. Its the story that is ruining of. You will understand. To that time call me evertyhing you like have fun in Trumpland and no universal healthcare
@JohnnyBastos Totally
@oldschool1987 people from the UK/US cannot handle different views... thats why they have only two or three parties (torries, conservatives, democrats, labour). They cannot handle discourse:p
@Sanquine . When did I say anything about you? Huh? When did I say you were left or right leaning huh? Your immediate defense mechanism is showing your true snowflakes colors.
@Sanquine you don't like the story that somebody else created for their project?....... Boo hoo.
@oldschool1987 if that was true that would be discrimination and those ND employees would be well in their right to seek legal advice. Don’t get me wrong I read a lot of rumour and speculation but until it is proven that’s all it will ever be for me. If I believed everything I read on the internet I think I would go mad
Thanks to the leaker I'm going to pass on this one, the gameplay might be better but the story looks horrible, I just gonna keep the good memories of the original on the PS3 and pretend this game doesn't exist
@Sanquine I don't agree with that, the fact we have so many parties speaks to how open we are to different views and ideas.
@No_Cartridge I'm not one for social media, no. I know what the leaks are, I've seen them. But I've seen no "hate speech" on this site. Except one person calling anyone who criticises this game homophobes.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk I'm not saying I believe them, I did state its only "sources", so it's anecdotal. But I'm not surprised. A californian based studio, and it's 2020 so cancel culture is a thing unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised is all I'm saying, given the direction of the game, some people might be a bit sensitive.
@oldschool1987 I think some people forget that at the end of the day it’s just a game. You hear a lot of stories so I suppose there’s no smoke without fire. If people aren’t happy with the way they think naughty dog are being run then they need to vote with their wallets.
@Arugula
For what it's worth, you really should play the first one in entirety. It's an amazing game. I would imagine not completing the first and then playing the second would make things a little confusing
@Sanquine You are the joke
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk I agree, people need to vote with their wallets. I don't think this game will do as well as it would have before these leaks.
I'll still get it, I'm excited for it, I want to see how this direction is executed. It might be great.
It was actually taken down? Oh dear... That's not good. Normally they just extend the date.
I guess they were going to make it a PS5 launch game (bit slimey and low effort but I wouldn't put it past them) then thought better of it?... so I wonder why they brought it back again?... All seems very indecisive and discordant... And STILL no news on the system or much of the lineup... Dear dear.
June 19th is a long time to have to avoid spoilers. It can't be fixed now, but I think Naughty Dog should just have released on schedule. I know it wasn't to their satisfaction because they wanted everyone to play it at the same time, but the situation they were in before the leaks was about as good as it was going to get. It's debatable whether or not the leak still would have happened had they stuck with their May release date, but I'm betting things might have turned out differently.
