@BamBamBaklava89 lol right, I would have been happy with any game I didn't already own or hadn't already played elsewhere often many months before.
Just for clarity I am not necessarily saying the individual games released are bad quality. Just that me getting access to them on my PS5 when I either own them or have played them elsewhere isn't something for me to be excited for.
(Some genres such as extraction shooters for example I have zero interest in so when those appear it's a wasted slot on me.)
Well that an entire 12 months of releases I either already owned or had no interest in. Couldn't even manage a single game I was excited to play in a whole year, sigh 😔
I have nearly 45 million credits across all my accounts so I couldn't give a monkeys.
I don't care about collecting all the cars just for the sake of it and only tend to buy what I want to race in the multiplayer.
Usually the free updates that are just cars are nothing exciting so I ignore them. I mean how many SUV's do I need to buy just to not ever use them.
I would love for something that I am excited to spend those credits on but dull every day cars ain't it (for me) as they are rarely used in the content I play in GT7
Rennsport is aimed at a different demographic than GT7 and while there is some cross over it's still a difference.
GT7 is as much of a sim for cars as COD or Battlefield is for guns, i.e. not really a sim. Despite the marketing it's a simcade about in the middle so not as cade as say need for speed but not really leaning towards the sim side as much as ACC, iRacing etc.
Rennsport (& the soon to be released Project Motor Racing) are aiming at the latter and are trying to take on ACC & iRacing rather than GT7.
From the sounds of things it doesn't seem Rennsport quite hit the spot it was aiming for. Without playing it myself it would be hard to judge where it falls over just looking at it as a sim rather than as a GT7 competitor which is what the reviewer did (but as I mentioned above I don't think that is the correct point of view.)
I hope the Rennsport folks are able to realise their ambitions because I really want to see more console sim racing games be successful so we can see more on these platforms.
Oh & just to be clear I am not knocking GT7 I mean I pretty much purchased a PS5 solely to play the game but it has it's limits (which is fine) & primarily aimed at different racing demographic.
This dlc was the only thing in the entire show that made me sit up and take a closer look.
Sounds promising but they need to be sensible with the price.
@JayJ there are a couple of GT7 streamers that regularly host 200 lap community races. Depending on the track that can be 8 + hours of racing and I think they are both bonkers.
Most I have done in one sitting was a 4 hour but that was in ACC not GT7. Can't imagine trying a 24 hour solo race that's totally nuts!
Got bored with the first one and didn't try the second as it's more of the same with different protagonists as far as I can tell so no reason to give it a chance.
Not a franchise for me it seems despite the initial promise of the first one.
It's worth remembering that this monthly poll isn't asking you to review the games being released on essentials.
Already having the games or if you have already played the games being offered on other platforms or are straight up not interested in them are all valid reasons for saying it's crap selection.
Not every game will be a fit for everyone and that's fine. If we all liked the same things we would all be playing Fortnite and the world would be incredibly boring.
You can use stats to "prove" any point it's just a case of finding the right stats. At the end of the day everyone will view these releases differently and folks just need to accept that
Personally I have thought this years essentials to be pretty bad for me. I don't think I have even had one game released on essentials I wanted to play. That is mostly not based on the quality of the games themselves.
Many of the games released this year I either already own or have played on other platforms often many months earlier. So those games coming to essentials offers me no value and for me that makes it a bad month.
What I am getting from these comments and Push Square generally is that it's ok for folks to be critical of Microsoft about absolutely everything they do. However as soon as someone makes a slightly critical comment about Playstation it's OMG How Very Dare You!?! and many pearls are clutched.
Starfield was an ok game but just ok. It is still worth at least one play through. Bethesda did over promise a lot and got the expected reception as a result.
@DonkeyFantasy. The Xbox version has mods and some pretty decent ones too. Obviously pc is the best place for modding but Xbox does ok.
Games with mod support on Playstation has traditionally been the most limited due to a policy of not allowing external assets to be uploaded so mods could only repurpose existing game assets.
However around the time mods were made available in Balder's Gate 3 it would seem that restriction might have been silently lifted as that game and shortly after mods in Skyrim / Fallout 4 started to appear using external assets. It will be interesting to see if Starfield follows that trend when it eventually goes on PS5 and I would hope it's at least on par with Xbox mods.
@Anthony_Daniels according to my kindle stats I average 43 books a year. I also average 2.2 miles walking per day according to Google fit thanks to my doctor nagging me um advising me to do so. I sometimes sleep too 😉
@Flaming_Kaiser then go in with no expectations and have fun.
To use my sim racing I never go in expecting to win I finish where I finish but I try to set a realistic goal. For instance try to finish within 5 seconds of someone i know is faster than me or if I get punted off track then pass that person cleanly & finish in front of them.
I don't really play multiplayer shooters.much so can't suggest realistic goals for you but I am sure you can come up with something suitable.
Also if a game isn't relaxing enough and that's what you want you can always play something else better suited.
Trying not to jump to conclusions but playing against better players is the best way to get better yourself. If you play against folks you stomp all you are doing is padding your stats
I don't play cod but I do sim races that matches your skills to others in a similar fashion. My attitude is if I am matched against someone much faster then it's an opportunity to learn how I can improve rather than being upset I had no chance to win. Racing faster folks taught me to be a better sim racer.
I know different games are different but that principle is sound across genres
@SeaDaVie so just to be clear when I refer to mechanics in a game I am referring to what a player does with the controller to affect what is presented on screen. What you see on the screen visually in relation to that I would call presentation.

Once again I asked a question using a reference I understand to try to gain an understanding on how the game in the article plays out.
I have been met by folks aggressively replying to me but not directly answering what I asked while I have politely tried to refine my question to get an actual answer.
If it helps others I have since looked it up via YouTube and yes in essence the basic format is the same its still 4 Vs 4 tag team (presentation between franchises notwithstanding) The big difference in this game is a shared health bar between your team rather than individuals health bars per fighter and you need to fulfil conditions during the match to be able to swap out the lead fighter though you can still use the other members as assist before then, apparently.
Given the non replies I got as someone just trying to understand I don't think the games mechanical onboarding will be it's biggest problem.

Don't expect it will happen though for one reason um I wonder what that could be, looks at the publishers of both these games 🤔🙄
I barely use my base PS5 as it is so a Pro was never & will never be on the cards for me.
I suspect it's simply a case of not having a big enough audience for it to be worthwhile for the dev teams to put in more than the bare minimum effort (& associated cost)
@Ricky-Spanish Within the context of the game The Beast is set 13 years after the events of the original game which itself was an apocalypse situation.
So purely logically the clothes on zombies are going to not be in the best of conditions. Zombies are typically not know for doing laundry or getting a sewing kit out for spot repairs.
So shock horror there might be some bare zombie bits on display.
@WolfyTn it can get a little over whelming as the game does throw a lot of trash at you.
As for what to pick up that is very dependent on who you are playing and what you are trying to do with them.
Some general advice though is to have a gun that is strong against each elemental type. So basically a fire gun for flesh (red bars), corrosive for armour (yellow bars) & shock for shields (blue bars).
There are other elements and you can have more than one element on a gun. Lots of info online if you want to deep dive.
Once you get to level 25 you will start to see more guns with more & varied licensed parts. It's worth keeping an eye out on those as you can often get some nutty combos.
Other than that just see what works for you. You can respec at the main hubs if you are struggling or find a gun that looks fun but isn't right for your current set up
Just for reference it took me about 50 hours to do the campaign on my first character and I was level 36 on completion. I did do a lot of the side content though so it's possible to be quicker if you want.
@WolfyTn what level are you? I have got some good stuff out of the vending machine. Like all loot in the game it gets better the more you level up & that includes the stuff in the vending machines.
There is a quest involving vending machines you can do early for a guaranteed legendary, a vending machine on a weekly rotation with guaranteed legendaries and as you level you see more legendary / well rolled purples generally in them.
The pathfinder was better for me once I found the setting that made it stay on screen longer other than that no complaints.
The mountain thing with invisible walls is annoying in all games that do it. I never understood why it's a thing anywhere that isn't a map boundary.
Hope you find some fun with Borderlands 4 when (if) you return.
The patents they used against Palworld were registered long ago I think. They may be covering more grounds on the new ones.
That is not entirely correct and that is why this is so controversial and destructive.
"The case involves three patents granted by the Japan Patent Office (JPO): two related to monster capture and release, and one related to riding characters. All three patents were filed in 2024, after Palworld came out"
If you don't trust IGN and quick Google will bring up other corroborating sources. This isn't straightforward & is a little complicated timeline wise. However Nintendo are doing some 💩 stuff to try and kill Palworld.
So if the rolls were reversed (Hell is Us is the big anticipated indie & Silksong was the fresh start upcoming indie.) they wouldn't have done what was best for their game.
They would taken a step back to give Silksong time to breath in the release schedule before they released their game, right?
I have seen this so many times and it's ***** every time.
Of the big three I have always thought Nintendo to be the least consumer & industry friendly. Yet they still continue to get a pass from a lot of folks who still rail on Sony & Microsoft for doing stuff that Nintendo also do, why? I don't know or understand.
I hope Palworld continues to be a success despite Nintendo best efforts to make it otherwise.
I can't speak on the PS5 version but I have six hours of play on the Series X (by visiting New Zealand 😉). In that time I had one frame rate slow down in the tutorial during a cut scene and apart from that it's been totally fine.
I am in performance mode though I did try quality and it does suffer a lot using that but in performance no issues.
Hope you all find the Playstation version runs well and you have as much fun as I have had over past few hours.
@Ricky-Spanish agree. an article every now & again 💩 on Sony doesn't balance in anyway the often multiple articles each week 💩 on Xbox / Microsoft. Sometimes it's hard to tell this is a playstation site.
To be fair to the bloke though such articles will get the site the most engagement and comments so I understand why it's done.
However it's not something I personally like and prefer the "a rising tide raises all ships" approach & being positive about gaming rather than punching down just because you can.
There are no victims here and you demeam your website by phrasing it this way.
Hollow Knight isn't attacking anyone and they didn't target these other games. Tough market conditions are tough and in other news water is wet, Sheesh!
@SeaDaVie must be the same sort of coincidence as Black Myth Wukong managing to solve it's supposed tech issues on Xbox so it launches exactly a year after the PS5 launch. 🤔
@BecauseBecause if I was feeling cynical I would think its planting the seeds of an argument by being deliberately antagonistic with the answers to drive engagement stats to the article.
Luckily I am not feeling cynical and am only thinking happy thoughts today. 😉
I agree your answer would be the better option
@BecauseBecause I think a lot of folks don't actually read the question this article asks. It asks if you are happy with the selection not are the games offered objectively good or bad
So with this month's selection I can acknowledge that there are some good games being offered. For me personally though the selection is still a poor one as I have played / own more than half of them.
So it wouldn't offer me anything and so it's a poor selection for me regardless of how good or not the individual games are.
@ConstantStateOfPlay you are welcome and I had a fantastic time playing the game. I am on my third play through but this time on hardest difficulty with added mods for extra immersion on my Series X
I hope you have as much fun as I had and continue to have with this fantastic game.

They half arsed it and got the results to match the effort they put in. Sheesh it's not rocket surgery!
Re: Round Up: Borderlands 4 Reviews All on PC, No PS5 Verdicts Anywhere
I can't speak on the PS5 version but I have six hours of play on the Series X (by visiting New Zealand 😉). In that time I had one frame rate slow down in the tutorial during a cut scene and apart from that it's been totally fine.
I am in performance mode though I did try quality and it does suffer a lot using that but in performance no issues.
Hope you all find the Playstation version runs well and you have as much fun as I have had over past few hours.
Re: Destiny 2 Does Its Best Star Wars Impression with Renegades Expansion
@Ricky-Spanish agree. an article every now & again 💩 on Sony doesn't balance in anyway the often multiple articles each week 💩 on Xbox / Microsoft. Sometimes it's hard to tell this is a playstation site.
To be fair to the bloke though such articles will get the site the most engagement and comments so I understand why it's done.
However it's not something I personally like and prefer the "a rising tide raises all ships" approach & being positive about gaming rather than punching down just because you can.
Re: September 2025 PS Plus Essential Games Available to Download Now
Well another bunch of nothing for me. Made it to September and I haven't got a single game I want from PS Plus 😔
Re: Borderlands 4 PS5 Wants You to Keep Playing for Months After Release
Have Super Deluxe edition on preorder and can't wait to get stuck in.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for September 2025 Announced
Yet another nothing month for me and it's a trend that has run for the entire year so far.
Re: Baby Steps Is the Next Hollow Knight: Silksong Victim, Delayed Two Weeks
There are no victims here and you demeam your website by phrasing it this way.
Hollow Knight isn't attacking anyone and they didn't target these other games. Tough market conditions are tough and in other news water is wet, Sheesh!
Re: STALKER 2 Locks in PS5 Release Date for 20th November
Stalker 2 is my favourite game released on Xbox and I hope it does well on PS5 too.
A very immersive and dark experience that I have enjoyed a lot.
Re: STALKER 2 Locks in PS5 Release Date for 20th November
@SeaDaVie must be the same sort of coincidence as Black Myth Wukong managing to solve it's supposed tech issues on Xbox so it launches exactly a year after the PS5 launch. 🤔
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for August 2025?
@BecauseBecause if I was feeling cynical I would think its planting the seeds of an argument by being deliberately antagonistic with the answers to drive engagement stats to the article.
Luckily I am not feeling cynical and am only thinking happy thoughts today. 😉
I agree your answer would be the better option
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for August 2025?
@BecauseBecause I think a lot of folks don't actually read the question this article asks. It asks if you are happy with the selection not are the games offered objectively good or bad
So with this month's selection I can acknowledge that there are some good games being offered. For me personally though the selection is still a poor one as I have played / own more than half of them.
So it wouldn't offer me anything and so it's a poor selection for me regardless of how good or not the individual games are.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for August 2025?
I don't have extra / premium but there is nothing here for me if I had access. So for me personally it's a poor selection.
Re: Death Stranding 2 Delivers Five Hour PS Plus Trial Next Week
Don't have premium but no matter I would touch Death Stranding 2 even if Sony paid me.
Re: Xbox Open World STALKER 2 Is Getting Some Huge Improvements for Its PS5 Debut
@ConstantStateOfPlay you are welcome and I had a fantastic time playing the game. I am on my third play through but this time on hardest difficulty with added mods for extra immersion on my Series X
I hope you have as much fun as I had and continue to have with this fantastic game.
