Update []: If you can believe it, February's Game of the Month vote has been... predictable. One game stood out from the rest — no prizes for guessing — and it ended up dominating our public poll.
Yes, Resident Evil Requiem is our official Game of the Month for February 2026.
Again, it wasn't close. The longstanding series' latest instalment has captured the hearts and minds of a sizeable audience; it's already on track to be one of the most commercially successful Resident Evil titles ever, and it's difficult to find that level of success without being a damn good game.
Over 800 votes were cast in our poll, and Requiem claimed more than half of them. And remember, this was a stacked month for new releases, so it's not like there was a lack of competition.
For reference, these were the top five PS5 games of February 2026, according to our readers:
- Resident Evil Requiem - 454 votes (56%)
- Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined - 126 votes (16%)
- Nioh 3 - 78 votes (10%)
- Avowed - 33 votes (4%)
- Reanimal - 19 votes (2%)
Resident Evil Requiem combines two distinct gameplay styles to great effect, making it feel rather unique even against the backdrop of such a storied franchise.
It also pulls on nostalgic threads an awful lot — but not to any obnoxious degree. In short, it's a fan-pleaser through and through, while also being super satisfying to actually play.
Well, when you're Leon, at least. Grace's chapters substitute the action with some of the most impressive horror Resident Evil's wheeled out in a long time. The best of both worlds!
