Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses an Astonishing 5 Million Sales in Its First Week 1

Resident Evil Requiem, the latest game in Capcom's popular horror action series, has gotten off to an incredibly strong start.

The publisher has officially announced the new entry has surpassed 5 million units sold since its launch on 27th February 2026, meaning it's reached that milestone inside its first week on the market.

As far as we're aware, that's a franchise record; Resident Evil 4 remake hit the same number in about four months, while 2009's Resident Evil 5 cleared the figure within three months. It looks likely that Requiem will become the fastest-selling game in the series.

For reference, the series as a whole sits at 183 million units sold, as of 31st December 2025.

Critically acclaimed and adored by fans, the most recent Resi appears to be another big success story for the series and for Capcom.

Swapping control between Grace and Leon — two very different characters — Requiem represents both the survival horror and more action-leaning gameplay the series is known for.

The Resident Evil franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary this month, so this news is a pretty good way to kick it off.
