Re: Dragon Quest 7 Returns in Reimagined Form, Out for PS5 in February 2026

Nem

You know... it's not bad, but i just couldn't bring myself to finishing it. The pacing is frankly horrible. It's designed like an anime where each episode aka island is it's own little adventure and without a central plot i lost interest.
This was on the 3DS remake. This new remake looks better but i still remember how bored i was of it all. Ofc, copious amounts of grinding.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Borderlands 4 PS5 Review?

Nem

That's ok. Doesn't bother me.
People shouldn't expect pre-release reviews.
Actually, it's preferable this way cause the review gains more legitimacy if it doesn't have the cloud of having to please the publisher for future acess, over it.

Re: Sony's Troubled Live Service Game Fairgames Just Can't Catch a Break

Nem

This studio is getting closed.
Everyone sees the writing on the wall.

Unless they somehow manage to pivot to a single player game.
But, with Raymond fired and the game director jumping ship, it's obvious the ship has sunk.

Even if there is a hero wanting to lay out a plan, the downsizing will come. Sony won't want to bury more money on this.
The game directors always know what's coming and they typically are the first ones to jump ship.

Re: Rumour: PS6 Handheld Device Can Be Docked Like Nintendo Switch 2

Nem

If it was the case, Sony would be positioning both PS6 products competing with each other.
Given they both had different specs, it may not even be accurate to be calling both a ps6 as the portable was more a portable ps5.
So... this will just be what the psp and vita were but with backwards compatibility with ps4 and ps5.
If this device is to run ps6 games, the next generation will be more hamstrung than this one.

Re: 'There's No Real Need for a PS6': Industry Veteran Weighs in on Next-Gen Debate

Nem

My issue is that as soon as a new hardware launches they start creating tools that hog the computational power for little gain and we get sub par gaming experiences under 60 fps.
That is my issue. We are always chasing the 60fps and always purposidly denied.

We should be having 60fps as the standard and then add new techniques if it doesn't affect it. Otherwise we keep buying the next system to run the games of the previous system at 60fps. It's exhausting.

I already hear the next scam "path tracing". Like "ray tracing" wasn't useless already.
Just do your lighting manually and create a masterpiece. Heck you can probably get an AI to do most of the work already. It doesn't make sense to tax the system to do it.

So, do i want the ps6? Yes. I want to play MH wilds and dragon's dogma 2 at 60 fps.
Will it be the last console i buy? It probably will be. I am tired of being screwed around with by these companies. I've got enough games to play till i die. Give me a gen with consistent 60fps and i'll think about it.

Re: Shinobi: Art of Vengeance (PS5) - A Gorgeous, Triumphant Return for SEGA's Ninja Series

Nem

Tbh the 3DS game was pretty good too.
I played the demo and this is a pretty modern and gorgeous take on the formula. What they did with the combat was especially unexpected. Shinobi didn't typically have deep combat.

With that said, it felt too much like a vanillaware game to me and i know i get bored and frustrated with those. I apreciate it, but i don't want to play it myself.

The Shinobi i liked best was actually the GG "game gear" ones. In particular the second where you hard for levels and challenging design. In the end of a level you would unlock another shinobi with a different playstyle and this could be used to acess new areas and make bosses easier. Actually, kind of like the megaman formula.
Playing this game, even though it's gorgeous, i can't help but get super meat boy vibes. There are many of these nowadays. The messenger also comes to mind. It's fine. They are fine games. It's just not what i feel like playing atm.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025?

Nem

Seemed to be more content drops about stuff we already knew.
As a WoW player, i like seeing the new expansion, but it's all pretty meh. The war within was a lot of wasted potential.
Demon hunter void spec was dropped out of nowhere. There was only one boss created for the current raid with one. It's weird to mix fel and void, but whatever. I'm just salty that we keep getting these things no one asked for while the obvious tech based playable class is still nowhere to be seen.

Re: Round Up: Total Lack of Mafia: The Old Country PS5 Reviews Is a Red Flag

Nem

@Oram77 As someone who bought early, i didn't find the problems that prevalent that they ruined the game, while in the internet the issue would get so much atention it would've scared me from buying and enjoying the game.
So, i prefer to have user opinions out there as well and not just influencers holding the whole narrative.

Re: Round Up: Total Lack of Mafia: The Old Country PS5 Reviews Is a Red Flag

Nem

Honestly, given the current situation with influencers, no publisher should be sending review copies early. There is a great reward towards negativity driving engagement and therefore revenue for influencers and it's important to not let them lead the narrative.

I am a big fan of how the Oblivion remake released.
