Silent Hill 2 was always announced as a timed PS5 console exclusive, and that period is coming to an end.
In all the old promotional materials for the critically acclaimed Bloober Team release, the small print from Sony stressed that the game would only remain a console exclusive for the 12 months following its release.
The title originally launched on 8th October 2024, and so at the time of writing we’re just two days away from that contract lapsing.
Now eagle-eyed YouTube Rebs Gaming has discovered changes to the game’s web page, which includes slots for two other platform logos. The assumption here is that said systems will include Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.
All of that seems logical to us, and it stands to reason that Konami will want to give the game a second-wind following its successful PS5 and PC release.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the multiformat release is accompanied by some updates to the PS5 version, as Konami still needs to fix the game’s wonky PS5 Pro implementation – a task Polish dev Bloober Team appears to have washed its hands of.
