I can't recomend DA Veilguard more. It's a really fun game that is complete, has no micro transactions, runs wonderfully, it's not buggy and has amazing graphics.

Sigh... hopefully we get the golden version from the off set this time.

@MrPeanutbutterz That is unfair. Many of us liked the victorian setting, which was unique and storytelling. The characters were well done.
It wasn't just a generic shooter.

The game was good, but the developer arrogance at the time was not positive (going as far as saying they wanted to go 24fps on it cause it was more cinematic lol). It was a talented studio, but badly managed.

@47Levi Well... the anime isn't worse than the game's story mode. You should see it as that as that is what it is.

Well... it still isn't anything good for players though. Consolidation isn't good for players and just leads more developers into unemployment.
We are not better now than say during the ps1 days when there were lots of publishers and games on offer.

Regular games make you pay upfront, F2P games make you pay later.

@VanguardKaiser It's lowkey really good. It's like Honk Kong GTA where you are an undercover cop, but it's mixed with a martial arts movie.
Better than GTA if you ask me. But, it never got a sequel cause it didn't sell as much as they wanted.

It's nice that it holds 60fps, but that could be achieved on base ps5 with some optimisation.
Yes, the RE engine is crap, which is why they need to work on it. There is no excuse to release the game in such a bad state and I am not gonna buy another system to make up for their incompetence when it hardly does anything to improve the situation.

@DennisReynolds ps5 pro doesn't fix the game and yes, they can be solved by actually working on optimising the game. The game looks ugly and it's not the fault of the hardware as there are better looking and performing games on the system.
My statement stands. No optimisation, no more buy.

Squeenix is known for abnormaly long development cycles. Fixing that will allow the games to be a success without needing to sell 4m+ in the first month.

For the best. The series was swamped in multiple releases across multiple platforms. The focus is appreciated.

Pretty sure we will see it by next year at the latest. Squeenix needs major releases for this year and the next and as far as I know, they only got this and kingdom hearts 4.

Will probably end next year though. Unless they fix wilds and the expansion doesn't run terribly and is riddled with low res textures.
Wilds doesn't really deserve the sales it had. Even though I am guilty of it as well. I most certainly learn and will not jump on the expansion without real fixes.

Awful sale! It's the same things we got before at the same price or higher.
For example i got Skyrim anniversary for 8 euros a few weeks ago. Now it's going for 19 euros. The oblivion effect i guess. 😂

I would watch it, but I was never enamored with the crime life, so it still doesn't appeal to me. The only GTA I could play to completion was GTA3 cause of the mafia/godfather themes going on and how groundbreaking it was for the time.
Nowadays they are not very different from any other ubisoft open world. Go to quest givers on the map, do some shooting, run away from the cops, repeat.
But, yes, it looks impressive. No gameplay footage though.

I will have to look into it. I am a fan of both series but I was uncertain about this one.

I want my 70 odd officers with their unique movesets and our conquest, musou and empires modes as well as co-op. No open world. Just the usual arcade like spectacle stages we used to have with the 2 button weak/fierce combo system. It works. It worked for decades and there is a reason why. It's fun.
I am hoping origins was the stepping stone for that. I really ain't interested in this souls hybrid thing.

@naruball They are based on real people. Arnold and Stallone have their likeness in the games even though they pass it as rambo or conan... but why does the distinction matter?
It doesn't change anything to me. I'd rather see characters from the actual series than guest characters that add nothing and are just cash bait for casuals. Guest characters don't make games better.
There are cases where series are so close that it makes sense. Say street fighter and KoF. But I still prefer a dedicated game for those crossovers than seeing guests on the other game. It's just disrespectful to your players that are there cause they love the series.
I literally stopped buying MK cause of the micro transactions malpractices and the abundance of guest characters. I love the series, I love the lore and the characters and seeing those nobodies instead of fan favorite MK characters always feels like a slap in the face. I got tired of being slapped.

Honestly, EA has to come to grips with the fact that it's not a huge publisher anymore. They have to accept that all their games aren't going to sell gangbusters above 4m copies. All they got is FC now. Even that has been in decline and their answer is to close studios and downsize even more when they need to rethink how they approach the market. They time of EA and Activision giants is over. They need to understand what they are now. Time to reduce budgets and be ok with modest hits (probably until they grow and ruin it all again).

@IOI Nah... i got the driver version and that will do me fine. I will save my money for the PS6 as it seems that will be costly. The pro is not worth it for me. It can't play my physical games.

"Biggest map" is not something that excites me. I prefer smaller map with a variety of activities than a huge list of repetitive objectives.

@Cornpop76 Indeed. There were positives and negatives. But, currently, the internet has become so negative that I appreciated not being bombarded with videos and posts on social network telling me to be angry. I do find this discorse hurt some games that deserved better such as Dragon age veilguard. Youtubers have way too much power if they are allowed to start the narrative and they will farm negativity.
I am perfectly fine with shadow drops if it curtails negativity.

On the other hand, yes, it hid the performance issues that while not insane, are there and can be distracting.
If only companies were trustworthy, I would be happy with just shadow drops. But we know they will use it to mask a turd soon enough.

I caved in. The price was strangely acessible and i found it worthwhile to say this is the way.

I was a bit taken back by some parts i had already forgotten. The game really isn't as good as skyrim. There is more quality of life and intuitiveness with Skyrim. But, it's still alright.
The graphics glow up is pretty nice and the models do look better than the ugly Skyrim ones. Hair in particular is awful on skyrim and it's nice here.

All in all, a nice entry to play again.

We know the game appears to be real. Doesn't mean the release date rumors are.

For further information, virtuos also developed the ps5 version of midnight suns. It's incredibly buggy. But i don't know if virtuos or firaxis (or 2K) are to blame.
Either way, i am expecting some bugs.

On another note, i hope the Fallout 3 remake is also true. It would make sense for them to delay it until the next season of the show though (sadly).

Well... i still remember when the PS4 was amazing looking not so long ago. I remember buying it and seeing on the screens a racing game that looked great.

The Switch 2 is not a super powered system. It's between ps4 and ps4 pro. The advantage is that it has Nintendo games and has a portable option.

End of the day, it's not the tech, it's the games and the experience being delivered.

Honestly, my reason to get one atm is to just upgrade the Switch games i got.

Well... if it helps, i don't think it will do as bad as concord. Marathon has a visual style. But wether it will capture players may depend on word of mouth and how good the game is.
Bungie also has a fanbase and it's likely a part of the destiny fanbase will give it a try.
