Doesn’t seem so bad to me, why would buying one game entitle you to a remaster, especially if you can still play the game you originally bought on new consoles?

Great article! I think the crowd here is pretty anti-hardcore BR in general, but it’s true that this game seems to lack depth that makes it hard to maintain dedicated following.

What about an option to turn off BTs completely? I often found myself driving around them because after a few hours they are just really boring and a slog. No gameplay skill and limited tension since even if you’re found you can just run past black goo.

No problem with it. It’s a marketplace and a niche luxury item to be used as a status symbol. I guess MbS bought a playstation.

@BridgeToClarity Fair enough! I think the combat system in Red Dead tampers my enjoyment of the story and quests unfortunately. Not a fan of needing to rely so much on aim assist and dead eye. Might be a ‘me’ problem though.

LOL at all the uninformed Fortnite hate on this site. H1Z1 looks and plays terrible compared to Fortnite. I'd say lots of console players are giving it a shot, since Fortnite is their only experience in BR, and that the lack of polish will quickly dissipate player numbers in addition to better alternatives coming out in the near future.

Pricepoint and free on Xbox has this game barren on PS4 side now. To put it in perspective, I'm on top of the elimination mode leaderboard and probably just above average at games.

Generally, I just buy remasters when I want to play a game from a previous generation. The graphics up-scaling is nice, but playing through the gameplay of a Resident Evil 4 or something is my real interest.

@RedMageLanakyn Very wrong, they sell skins on average for $15 a pop and a "battle pass." I'd say roughly half of people I see have at least one.

What's the deal with telltale always getting plus games, must be cheaper option for Sony? I used to really enjoy telltale (1st Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Borderlands) but got sick of the formula, and quality seemed to lose its consistency.

Love the list, makes we want to play Hellblade and Finch even more now and nice to learn about a couple other games I'd missed.

@KingSandyRavage I'm with you, originality is great, but it's not a good way to evaluate year-to-year. When exactly was there that much "originality" in a given year? The average release was better than the average release of most years, thus I say it is a good year.

Baffled by the over-sensitivity to anything and everything nowadays.

Maybe there should have been bracket regions based on game genre to reduce the bias there (might as well reduce bias if you have the opportunity rather than randomize)? That way fighting game fans don't have to take a loss for probably most of the first round matches. Could have been split (fighting, rpg, action, other)
