Gamescom 2020 is, understandably, going all digital this year, but what isn't changing is Opening Night Live. Produced and presented by Geoff Keighley, this is a live press conference that's being brought back after its inaugural showing last year. It's back for 2020, but what are all the details? When is Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020?
The Gamescom livestream takes place on 27th August, so there's not long to wait. Here are all the regional dates and times you need:
Thursday 27th August 2020
- North America: 11am PDT / 12pm MDT / 1pm CDT / 2pm EDT
- UK/Ire: 7pm BST
- Europe: 8pm CEST / 9pm EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 3am (Fri) JST / 2am (Fri) AWST / 4am (Fri) AEST
It's worth noting there will also be a half-hour pre-show before the main event starts.

Maybe this is where we will hear about the PS5 release date? then the following week news about price and Pre-Orders from Sony themselves, but looking forward to it anyway, It will be nice to have a big games show this year

I'll wait for PushSquare to report the PlayStation news. I'm not going to sit through a 2 hour show presented by a guy I'm not a fan of, when half to two thirds of the content will be irrelevant to me.
Prince Of Persia is all but leaked now so surely that will make an appearance
@Paranoimia two hours with Jeff Keighley sounds like the title of a horror film to me. Probably dodge opening night live myself. Wait for the videos that interest me to be uploaded to YouTube. But hey, I know some peeps love this stuff and have been jonesing for an E3 like conference hit.

IGN said they are partnering with Gamescom to bring coverage and will have show on their channels
@gmxs - there's a guy on twitter called ironman saying preorders will be starting on sept. 9 (25 years to the day since ps1 launched) - that kind of makes sense.
@DeepSpace5D - that would make perfect sense - bluepoint has been killing it with the remakes.
@DeepSpace5D I think blue point might be dependent on the demon souls game.
I'd love to see Sony step it up with something nice to show. I only just realised Microsoft owns both Obsidian (I knew this part) and Inxile, basically the two successors to Interplay/Black isle. With that kind of godly RPG history in their books Sony should look to up their game in that aspect.

Mainly just wishful thinking on my part, but would be awesome if true. Gamescom was used for a big announcement from Sony last time though, so we’ll see if another one happens.

Is there just a raw feed or do you HAVE to watch Shilley's version of it? I don't mind having to wait and read all all the news in 5 minutes instead of 2 hours if there's no raw stream.

Thats what I was thinking too. They would be able to do what they wanted in making their own game because I'm sure Sony would make it happen.
Fingers crossed that we get another Insomniac style breaking story midway through.
