I would rather they let us choose 1 of 3 or so games for PS4 every month, as there's rarely more than 1 I'm interested in or don't have. ABZU this month at least!
Something thats not a platformer/puzzle/arcade game. Also tearaway and lb3 are so similar that they both cater to the exact same audience (not me, sadly)
Sure, fix the bad bugs, but it's not like they can fix the animations/planet scanning/etc etc. It's also unreasonable to expect them to after release when the actual paying customers have already begun playing the game as is.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS Also dang the consciousness of the enemy theme better not be the sole layer of multiple playthroughs as that is so original Nier and um, obvious this time.
I have a question, is there any point in reviving/retrieving/praying for all these dead androids? Like the buffs on retrieving only last 15 seconds I'm assuming, so it seems that'd only be useful in a boss fight, plus I already have more Gs than I know what to do with.
Picked up Scholars of the First Sin in the sale last weekend, so I'll be trudging along in that (with spurts of Rocket League, as always) until I get my hands on Nier.
Lots of indies that I'm close to biting on...firewatch, witness, enter the gungeon, inside. Gravity Rush would be neat, haven't tried it. Mirror's Edge Catalyst seems like a decent candidate.
They've got their own things to work on, don't need to be wasting their time on a money-grab movie. Let's not pretend the absence of game devs is why video game movies tend to suck.
Played the beta, seems well-done and all but not interested enough to invest the necessary time to be half-decent. Combat seems to rely too heavily on reflexes and habituated responses to visual cues for my taste as well
Yeah it's not in the store, but just keep this article up that's blatantly wrong, it's cool. Why not put an article out saying the new half life is available now too. Good job
I, too, couldn't find the beta in the US store. I searched "for honor" and all that came up was the pre-order option. Similarly I couldn't find the option to download Rainbow when it was free2play last weekend, unless I was supposed to download the 1-hour trial.
I prefer to support niche titles rather than hits with my pre-order money when I know I'll play both eventually, so I'll be playing NieR while everyone else is playing Horizon it looks like.
Wow, cringe-worthy scene. So hyped by the ideas behind Horizon and Mass Effect but actual footage has been off-putting besides from some great stills/scenics.
Yes, Witcher 3 combat is certainly a weakness, similar to Red Dead, but good story/world/characters is soooo important, which those games did exceptional with.
Maybe I'll just preorder Nier Automata instead, nervous to watch gameplay of it though.
I really enjoyed NieR, found it to be an unexpected, novel joy. Not sure I would buy the remaster, but I'm glad to support Automata, never expected a sequel.
Love me a good flash. Picked up Child of Light, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Risk of Rain (now to convince a few friends to do the same!) Tomb Raider is tempting but not sure I liked it so much that I want to play it through again
Just read in a preview elsewhere that running is the first option in this game. I think I'll pass, too much has changed and I'm not a fan of the running gameplay style in horror games.
That last answer is a huge turnoff for me. I did not like outlast and do not want gameplay to be running away from a bad guy with no/minimal way to attack/strategize. Is this a horror "experience" or a horror game. I do not want an experience with lame set up jump scares being the main form of horror. Thinking of canceling my pre-order
@RedMageLanakyn Yeah that's my experience with Outlast. Felt like a cheap way to elicit "scares." I didn't like RE6 or Revelations 2 either, but neither felt nearly as well-backed or ambitious as Biohazard. I probably shouldn't trust that it'll be good but sometimes you just have to go with your gut and hope for the best (if you like to dance in the fire that is preordering).
Pre-ordered! And I detest pre-orders but alas I want to play it and the $48 widely available for pre-ordering nowadays (amazon, best buy) makes it a decent rational decision. I just hope it's not too much "you're powerless and being chased by monsters" which always feels like a gameplay cop-out. Give me the tools dammit, just ramp up the difficulty rather than making me helpless. Please no
@verynaughtyboy Looking forward to revisiting the uncharteds on ps4 at some point as well. I played UC4 on crushing first playthrough, which was a horrible, horrible mistake. I imagine I'll enjoy the gameplay much more if I play it again on a lesser difficulty, but yes, the first uncharted will always have the (most) special place in my heart as my first gaming crush.
@verynaughtyboy Agreed, while perhaps it's technically the best (which later iterations usually are and should be), I personally like Uncharted 2 (and 1, blasphemy I know) better. 3 is about a tie.
@dryrain Exactly, there's no competitive advantage. People buy it because they like what it offers, shouldn't hurt anyone. Why wasn't this info in the article? This comes across as a "trash and hate on CoD" article with minimal substance. Come on Push Square...
@adf86 So if they'd released it as a standalone game, exactly as it is now, it'd be justified? It's not like Dark Souls III (3!) and Deus Ex are all that different from their predecessors.
I can't see it doing much better than the previous games. I was a huge SoTC fan and have ICO as well but won't be touching this until it's at 20 or less. I waited this long...
Also, 'DLC'? We need a new term, as every game can be downloaded nowadays and it's inevitable that it'll likely be the norm rather than the exception. Expansion? Additional Content? Alas, I know the gaming community does get rather attached to its acronyms.
What's all this negativity!? Blood and Wine can easily clock in at 20+ hours. So the content amount is on par with (and exceeding many) "full" games. Plus, I love that this recognition advocates putting this amount of time and effort into DLC.
For a long time I was against a sequel because the first stood so well on its own, but hell, I miss it! I've played it four times, tried Uncharted 4 once but they are quite different games, considering.
Nothing for me, $30 for complete Witcher 3 edition is great value obviously if you somehow haven't gotten it yet. After Walking Dead Michonne and general burnout of their formula, I'm avoiding Telltale until reviews strongly suggest otherwise. Is there ever a week without Rockstar sales of GTA and the like?
I did get Titanfall 2 bc of good campaign reviews, and I am enjoying it. However, none of these recent games focus much on narrative, just pure gameplay that I've seen before. And no, I will not be "pre-ordering" (people still do that?) The Last Guardian. It honestly hasn't spurred much excitement in me and it seems too similar to ICO/SotC, which were great at their own respective times for their unique atmosphere but weren't the most "fun" or "exciting" games.
Was hoping for more of a comparison to XCOM: Enemy Unkown, this reads like a basic overview that could easily have been copy/pasted from the first XCOM game. Didn't learn much

Thanks for the heads up. After seeing this story I listed mine and sold it for $39 (!) on ebay.

Anything that's not a platformer/puzzle game

Looks good! Except for blank face protagonist. He has less emotion than 2B...

Rocket League is beyond comparison. Just kidding, but I love Rocket League.

Re: Talking Point: What Free PlayStation Plus Games Do You Want in February 2017?
@MinerWilly Been waiting for Firewatch to get a decent discount or on plus so that'd be amazing.
I'll take the bait...give us Resident Evil 4!!! I played it on PS3 a year ago and wow that game is still a blast. Top 5 all-time for me
Other hopes: Enter the Gungeon, Salt & Sanctuary, Grow Up, Abzu

Re: Talking Point: Has Holiday 2016 Devalued New Games?
I didn't buy anything day 1 this year but I can see myself buying day 1 for some upcoming games:
Last of Us 2
Horizon (possibly)
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Red Dead 2
I agree it was fatigue with the titles more than consumers waiting out sales (which will always happen to some degree)
