I enjoyed the episodic release. Gave me the week to watch videos, theorize about story beats, and genuinely just made the game last a full month for me instead of a typical telltale game where I play in a weekend and forget about it soon after.
Enjoyed the idea of The Ascent, but the execution was off. Story, characters, and VA were pretty weak. Also was a buggy mess. But the twin stick gameplay and RPG elements set a foundation for a hopefully far superior sequel.
I'm sure everyone will act normally and rationally when these are announced....that being said if KCD2 doesn't at least get nominated for goty I will burn the theater down.
Excited for this one from the first trailer as I loved Artful Escape and the trailer looked amazing. Didn't realize it was supposed to come out in 2025, so just taking this news as it was given a release window in 2026.
Tsushima is a far better game. Of course graphics and gameplay are slightly improved in Yotei. It's been five years. Would be ridiculous if they were worse. But the story is such a far step back that it seems like a typical Assassins Creed game rather than the complex samurai story we received in Tsushima.
Played the demo a while ago and I loved it. Animation is incredible, story somewhat unique (reminds me of an old Double Fine mobile game named Middle Management of Justice), and while the comedy is right on the edge of hilarious and annoying, so far from what I've experienced it's been hitting with me. Definitely will purchase it, but I'll let a few more "episodes" come out first.
I miss Bluepoint doing remasters of PS3 games. They'd knock those out of the park. But in cases like these where the original game is stranded on old hardware is where I'm pro remaster/remakes. It's the remaking games that already run on PS5 (and 60fps to boot) that make little sense to me.
It was a bit of a meme when they kept being named worst corporation every year. But you'll receive no argument from me with it's validity under the new ownership.
@Angelus3K the Crossbell series was the fan translation that added chest messages. And correct in Cold Steel going forward they no longer have them. My head canon just tells me that chests in Erebonia are more strict and not as laid back as Liberl chests.
Loving it so far. Giving it a 9 for two very petty reasons. The inexplicable reason to get rid of chest messages, and also the English VA director not knowing how Liberl is pronounced in the rest of the series.
Poor Gearbox developers are gonna need to perform a magic trick to get this game performing up to standards. Lucky for them I heard Randy has a thumb drive of magic tricks to give them ideas.
@ShogunRok Great review! Very excited to jump into this over the weekend. I do have a question about how tanky are regular trash monsters? One of my major complaints of Daybreak 1&2 is even with the addition of action combat, somehow it takes longer to fight trash enemies than the older games in full turn based (Rean one shotting with Gale for instance). Was hoping this game would make the action combat feel more trivial.
Fantastic month, but the issue with most fantastic months is I already own the highlighted games (psychonauts 2 and Stardew valley in this instance). I will check out Viewfinder though. Looks interesting.
Not to be a defender of a billion dollar company in Epic with all sorts of shady business practices, but why does Unreal Engine 5 get the blame for a developer sending out a poorly optimized product? In it's short lifespan UE5 has been used in the development of, just off the top of my head, Expedition 33, Split Fiction, Marvel Rivals, Black Myth Wukong.
Honestly this is in line with my expectations for how long it was gonna take. But getting exhausted with devs bragging about insanely long game length like it's a positive.
Weird I could have sworn this game was cancelled a couple years ago. Must have just been first impressions that it's a dumpster fire of a game and I just assumed it would be cancelled.
@Questionable_Duck oh Facebook as a company (I still refuse to call them Meta) are straight up evil. But if they are still willing to lose billions of dollars propping up the Quest 3 more power to us.
Also PSVR1 had my favorite launch lineup of all time. Full stop.
Picked in order E33, KCD2, and was pleasantly surprised to see Two Point Museum on the list. Respect to Blue Prince (haven't gotten to it yet) and Split Fiction (spouse isn't good enough to play this one).
I'm happy that the Motion Picture industry finally can get introduced to the Strand type genre. I am interested in unique stories in that world from a perspective of someone who isn't a UPS driver. So fingers crossed.
@Slayer25c yeah I meant if affects both. Doesn't affect everybody, but I have at least a couple friends it affects and it's been something people have been complaining about on Reddit since the update that introduced Welcome Hub.
@slabula it happened on my base PS5 and when switched to a PS5 pro. This is a known issue with the welcome hub. And yes shutting off your Internet connection does work. But kinda want that on!
Hell hath no fury like a voice actor scorned. Can't believe such a veteran in the industry just casually acknowledged the existence of an unannounced game.

Re: Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter Dev Not Quite Sure Which Classic RPG to Remake Next
As much as I love the Crossbell arc, you gotta finish the sky trilogy. The fact thats even a question boggles my mind.
Re: PS Plus Gets a Decent Black Friday Discount, But There's a Catch for Existing Members
And it's paid off to let ps plus to lapse and wait until black Friday to renew

Re: Final Dispatch Episodes 7 and 8 Out Now on PS5
Just finished it. Fantastic game. My favorite of this style (Telltale/Life is Strange etc). Top 10 goty for me....also easily top 3 dog of all time.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for November 2025?
When the highlight of your show is DLC getting DLC you're doing something wrong.
Re: Promising PS5 Story Game Mixtape Is Delayed to 2026

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 606
I've officially relapsed and am back to my Satisfactory ways. So good to finally have this game on console.
Re: Poll: Is Ghost of Yotei Better Than Ghost of Tsushima?
Tsushima is a far better game. Of course graphics and gameplay are slightly improved in Yotei. It's been five years. Would be ridiculous if they were worse. Re: Think PS Plus Essential's Monthly Games Are Getting Worse? The Data Shows You're Wrong
Used to be 6 games. Now it's 3. I honestly miss the days of getting hidden gems on ps+ instead of AAA games I bought 4 years ago.
Re: These 14+ PS5, PS4, and PS Plus Games Are Coming Out Next Week (3rd-9th November)
Satisfactory and 1000xResist on the same day. Super excited for both.
Re: For $1000, Maybe Get Married to Your Favourite Yakuza Character
I'm assuming Sega will require the purchase of the deluxe edition to gain access to the honeymoon after the ceremony.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ghost of Yotei?
Gave it a 7. It's essentially Tsushima again with better graphics and a worse story.

@Dalamar oh I forgot about that! Think that was just CS2 iirc.

Blockuza 3 getting a remake?!?!? I'm all for it. Let's polish up the entire series.

Steam got to Alpha test it. Nintendo will Beta test it now. Looking forward to it fully releasing when it comes to PS5 next year.
Re: 7 Years in the Making, Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Out Now on PS5, PS4
Still showing as just announced on PSN and can't even login to Steam. Silksong just broke the internet

Re: Satisfactory, the Popular Open World Factory-Building Game, Is Finally Coming to PS5
Very excited for this one. My most anticipated release remaining this year.
Re: Ambitious Open World RPG Crimson Desert Delayed to 2026
So even longer for DokeV then. All the kids who were excited for that game will have kids of their own when it finally comes out.

Re: Ghost of Yotei's State of Play Has Been Watched More Than Sony's Summer Showcase
Sony had a summer showcase?
Re: 88+ PS5, PS4 Games You Should Buy in PS Store's Huge Summer Sale
Something I just thought of. I've never been hit by the sticker shock of a $70 game, but seeing games on sale for $55.99 is still weird to me.
Re: Two Point Museum's First DLC Pack Will Have You Curating the Perfect D&D Exhibit
This looks amazing. With all the guesses for their upcoming DLC, never would have guessed this one.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Officially Game Over for PSVR2?
Bought the PSVR2 at launch. Immediately underwhelmed with the lack of support. Picked up the Quest 3 at launch and haven't looked back.
Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2025 So Far?

Re: Anticipated JRPG Trails beyond the Horizon Delayed into January 2026 on PS5, PS4
One of the few times I'm actually excited from a delay. 3 trails games in one year is a bit much. I still got a get to Daybreak 2.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Teases Big Improvements for Future Updates
I've been feeling very Whoo ever since finishing the game. But now I'm back to feeling Whee again!
