Steel Yourselves: The Game Awards Nominees Are Being Announced Imminently 1

It's that time once again, everyone. The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley's big, year-ending awards ceremony and pseudo-E3 conference, in nearly upon us.

However, before we get there, we need to know which games are up for what awards.

On Monday 17th November, all the nominees will be revealed in a special announcement presentation:

The nomination show begins at the following times:

  • North America: 9am PST / 10am MST / 11am CST / 12pm EST
  • UK/Ire: 5pm GMT
  • Europe: 6pm CET / 7pm EET
  • Asia/Oceania: 2am (Tue) JST / 1am (Tue) AWST / 4am (Tue) AEDT

Obviously, we won't know which games are getting nods and which aren't until Monday, but it's always fun to speculate.

A hot ticket title this year will very likely be Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which surprised everyone earlier this year and won the hearts of many. We'd be very surprised if it isn't shortlisted for a few awards.

PlayStation is always present at these things, so we reckon Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei are also likely to receive nominations across numerous categories.

Split Fiction was an early-year banger that may have slipped under the radar for some. However, It Takes Two won Game of the Year in 2021, so we wouldn't count out Hazelight's co-op adventure from some nominations.

We can't forget about Hollow Knight: Silksong either, which dropped at the end of the summer like it was no big deal. Given all the excitement and the critical acclaim, you're probably looking at a couple of nominations here.

We don't really have time to run through every last game worthy of being nominated, but it's safe to say the jury isn't starved for choice this year.
