Coffee Stain Studios has announced a console port of its massively popular sci-fi factory-building game, Satisfactory.
Developed in early access on PC for years, the game hit its 1.0 launch in 2024, and now, it's coming to PS5.
As the new trailer shows, Satisfactory lands on Sony's console on 4th November, 2025:
You play as a colonist on an alien planet, looking to set up infrastructure for humanity's arrival.
Optionally playable in co-op, it's a game of gathering resources, gradually building up your factory, and exploring the world — engaging in a little combat here and there.

As you might expect, your factory can grow enormous and elaborate, able to produce all kinds of objects and materials you need.
Satisfactory has almost 120,000 Steam user reviews rating it Overwhelmingly Positive, and the PC release was also very well-received by critics.
Hopefully the PS5 port is a good one, because it sounds like this will be a great factory title for the console. There aren't too many games of this ilk on PS5, so it could be pretty popular when it arrives later in the year.

Very excited for this one. My most anticipated release remaining this year.
Dude, nice! I remember seeing a trailer for this and thought it looked really cool. Seeing a trailer for it on a platform I actually own and still think it looks really cool!
I am interested in this game, but I really wish that Coffee Stain Studios would make another Sanctum game, and bring all of them over to consoles too...
Nice! i love this management kind of city builder games. I've played a lot of them on pc back in the day and it's the only thing i miss on PC gaming. I am currently playing age of empires 2 on playstation and the controlls actually feels great, did'nt think it was possible without mouse and keyboard. So i hope this also plays well!
When on PS Plus Monthly Pick it will be mush have.
Great, I've been waiting for a sim building game for a while now since Cities skylines 2 has disappeared all of a sudden.
I think I own this on Steam but have never played it. My brother likes it.
I was once interested in this game, until I realized it’s like a 150-hour commitment. Good value for the money tho, I guess.
I feel a word of warning is warranted: This is one of those games that is secretly a time machine - you start the game and in a blink of an eye, it's next morning. Very dangerous!
(It is currently taking up waaaaay too much of my free time)
@FuriousMachine My first month with Satisfactory was basically 17:00 clock out of my real job, 17:01 clock into my factory job. I think it’s the first game I have played that throws out a message letting you know how long you have been playing every few hours…coffee stain knew full well they had created a drug in game form.
@GeeEssEff Absolutely! Now, I tried to get a hold of those FICSIT protein bars A.D.A. spoke of, but to no avail Fantastic game
@GeeEssEff Yeah this game is crack. I’ve put 70 hours into it in about 3 weeks after starting a co-op game with my friend. Just finished a computer factory yesterday that makes 15 a minute and am currently getting ready to make a 20 per minute heavy modular frame factory.
Seriously do not play if you value your free time (you will have an absolute blast if you do decide to start though)
@Glassneedles Sounds like you are way better at it than me! I don’t have the logical brain for it so my world is an inefficient, barely automated mess but I still love it nonetheless. I have about 130 hours under my (conveyor)belt and taking a break at the moment but intend to start a fresh game soon to take what I know and speed things up. Easily one of my favourite games of all time.
@StarZinger I have recently been playing a few games on PS5 with my mouse and keyboard plugged in and it's been great. Hopefully Satisfactory coming to PS5 will have mouse and keyboard support, since it already has that on the PC version.
I basically tried the Battlefield 6 beta just to test out if it support m&k on PS5 (it does) and that confirmed my purchase, it makes first person games so much better.
@GeeEssEff my secret has been to use Satisfactory calculator to do all fiddly calculations for me. With the computer factory I just said I want X number of computers a minute (then turned this down a bunch till I got a number of refineries that didn't make me want to cry) and then followed that. Still ended up building 28 refineries for those 15 computers a minute but at least I got to use the heavy oil left over to power the whole factory.
The friend I'm playing with is more like you and loves their spaghetti mess! We've made an agreement that I will have designated connection points in the factories for them to connect stuff up without messing up my (slightly) neat and orderly system.
@Glassneedles Haha that sounds like me and my cousin. I introduced him to the game (he’s already doubled my hours on it) and called myself the foreman while I showed him the ropes. He quickly overtook me and now he has these insanely intricate, perfectly efficient factories and scoffs at my spaghetti nonsense. He ropes me in when I go to crazy.

All excellent! (just don't build more than 20 crushers on Techtonica)
@Gedrick haha what! I didnt even know you could do that😄 i will definitely look that up, thanx for the tip!
Very naive question alert! I’ve found it hard to play games such as these with a traditional PS5 controller. Planet zoo, Tropico, et. I want to try but I keep running out of patience. Just something I need to get used to?
@StarZinger yeah man it’s great! I just plugged in a USB-C extender, connected to a USB hub, then connect a wired mouse and keyboard to the hub. A bit of a mess of wires but I like not having to Bluetooth pair anything, plus zero latency.
I play on my recliner with the arm rest as the mousepad and lay the keyboard in my lap
@GoodOlDubs easiest thing to do would be to see if those games support m&k, see my post above ⬆️
Great to see, it's coming along well.
