Ghost of Yotei’s dedicated State of Play has been hugely successful at raising the profile of the upcoming PS5 release.
In fact, with 3.2 million views at the time of writing, it’s actually been watched more than Sony’s summer State of Play, which aired on 4th June. That video has three million views.
There is some important context to consider here: these numbers exclude reuploads and simultaneous broadcasts from other channels. In addition, all of the announcements from the aforementioned summer State of Play got uploaded separately as well.

But it does show how successful these individual broadcasts can be at getting the word out about specific games. We’ve seen Nintendo have similar success: its dedicated Donkey Kong Bananza broadcast currently has 4.1 million views, for example.
We’d like to see Sony do more of these dedicated events for both first-party and third-party games. Could you imagine how many people would tune in for a Marvel’s Wolverine livestream? Or an Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet broadcast? Exactly.
