Thanks for the review. Everything I've seen and read about this screamed 'generic' at me. Just nothing to justify a day one buy, especially when the buy is up to 70 quid! As others have said, discount sale pick up.

Rrp for Xbox One X is what, 450 to 499 USD. So next Gen will be this much minimum I'd wager.

Lots of nice shiny new parts, super power this, ssd that... Surely this puts the price 550 to 599 USD.

Maybe Xbox and Sony take 50 to 100 dollar hit but I wouldn't be surprised if it's north of 500 USD and 449 gbp.

@redd214 yeah, that's pretty much my conclusion. I said to the Mrs the other day that basically our plans are on hold for a year.

Cerny said almost all the top 100 PS games to be backwards compatible. Occurred to me then that Sony may well add a good few of these to ps plus before the launch of PS5 so that folks would be more likely to stick with the brand into next gen.

Having upgraded versions of the current gen ready to go day one on the new console, in addition to one or two launch titles that folks buy would push aside that lack games feeling that a lot of people get when the new Gen launches. I remember plenty of people groaning (me included) due to so many delays at the start of the current Gen.

@GigaGaia wasn't it just in one place in China? In the US, it's in multiple major urban areas. Far harder to control when it's so wide spread.

Didn't he say you can transfer the games about between an external and what's inside? It's all bit technical for me but I got the impression I could swap the data about. Having a 3TB external in my ps4 gives me hope I can seamlessly move them around. I'm no tech person though 🤔

Oh hell yes. Bought this recently for my PS2. Played it to death on X360 too. Loves me an open world car game!

Gamers pay for this stuff which is why developers charge for it. Pee and moan all you want (I know I do) but as long as a sizeable enough segment of the market is 'happy' to pay for it, stuff like this will exist. I used to blame developers for this kind of stuff, but now I think gamers are actually to blame.

Forgive my ignorance on this issue, suppose PS5 goes backwards compatible with PS4, could i still install a disc and play on a PS4 & PS5? I realise nothing has been confirmed on BC, or anything else PS5, but i'm kinda worried about the future of gaming. Is it becoming a time period specific hobby whereby i had to 'be there' to appreciate [play] it.

If it's delisted from the store, does that mean it is just unavailable to buy? I have a digital copy. Can I still download after it has been removed?

Maybe won't go free to play but will be discounted regularly, like ESO. I'll play it when it's 7 or 8 quid...in a few years like I did with ESO

I filled this out last night (im in Japan so 24 hrs ago as I write). Mostly asked me about ownership of hardware, how often I play, hours handheld vs traditional console and types of games I like to play.
