@tatsumi Any game with early access for a fee is 'pay or delay' to me. I realised it's dressed up in special editions but remains a pay or delay.

We might be coming at this from different angles, but in my book, this rush to get things out and add stuff in later (and patch) trend is to the detriment of overall quality of a title.

@tatsumi Yes, how dare (edit:) gamers raise concerns about the general trend of being asked to pay more for less content and getting told to wait longer behind a paywall.

Yeah, yet another reason for me to not get this at launch. Wait for bugs to be patched, content to be added and save about £30 in the process.

This and review embargoes exist for a reason. Alas, none of them are there to help the customer.

Throwing this out there....Who's really to blame though? The publisher/developer or the people who are actually buying it?

Publishers wouldn't do this without demand. So if gamers keep lapping it up, of course they'll pull stuff like this.

@Giygas_95 Haven't seen a single ad yet! Cod Ww2 was plastered across a few stations over here but that was after release if memory serves.

But yeah, if it's Japanese, then the subway, malls, handout tissues (lol)... Etc are covered in ads.

I'm interested to see how they are going to handle post-launch content support, dlc, expansions, live-service or whatever the heck we call it these days.

Any news on this? Companies seem to crow about this to the nth degree these days but not heard anything for this game.

Looks fab. Saw a lot of gameplay at Tokyo Game Show this year and it plays well. Deffo giving this a whirl when it comes out.

@Jacaso How's Elex? Saw a gameplay clip of it the other day, first I've seen of it. Reminded me of gameslike Arcania, but with mini jetpack lol

@R1spam I'll echo what Splat says, it hasn't aged well in some repects but if you can look past some of the 'dated' aspects of the game, the universe, characters and story are amazing. One of my favourite franchises in gaming.

If you have a PS3, definitely worth picking up. I bought the trilogy on sale for about 5 pounds. You're looking at potentially hundreds of hours of entertainment.

Have a look at a few let's play or walkthrough videos on YouTube. It's what i do when i'm wondering if a game is worth it

Assassin C and RDR2 for me.....next year lol

DQ11, Persona 5, F1 2018 and a rerun of the Mass Effect series will keep me busy until then.

Will definitely pick this up but only after it's been out a few months and patched a few times. Including a remaster as part of the season pass is a great way to add value to the pass I feel.

@Marios-love-child Me too! Spent so many hours over the years on golf games. I have EG but i was really put off by the randomness of the club impacts. A perfectly timed drive often just ends up going nowhere near where I aimed it. So i gave up in the end

@Cowboysfan-22 played the first one and couldn't drive the ball straight. Found it to be a lesson in frustration.

Miss golf games so much that I recently bought Tiger 2012 on Ps3 lol

Oh hell yes I'm getting this. My favorite Tales game. Will be sinking a lot of time into this one.

I've always felt that [most] indie developers make money to make games. [most] Triple A publishers/developers make games to make money.

Generalizing, but you get my point.

Ordered it last night. Cant wait to play it once the countdown stops! This and Persona 5 will keep me going for a looong time. Backlog be dammed

@VotesForCows Definitely. I actually pre_order the day before it comes out (to get the crummy bonuses). But only for games that i know won't be a bug infested mess... Like an Ubisoft open world game lol

Hoping to go to Suzuka myself in a couple of months as i live in JP.

Skipped 2015, bought 16, skipped 17 so might dip into 18. Looks like some interesting updates to the series.

I get a feeling this will go the same way GTA5 did and release at the end of the gen and be a cross gen title. Can't see it coming out in the next 12 months.

Looks like publishers and developers are taking a season pass literally. Season pass is lookinglike a year now. Not lomg before we see "Pre-order the Spring pass for only 19.99".

Probably similar situation to GTA5. That released just before the Ps4 but didn't seem to do it any harm. Backwards compatability will remove the need for a double dip, if it happens that is.

"Issuing a challenge". So you have to accept a challenge to initiate combat?

Maybe the ultimate challenge is to get a nuke 1st and then that weapon can only be used directly on the group you're challenging. Both parties have to agree to this before it can happen.

But yeah, different ways to grief exist and need to be taken into account...or i won't buy it.

@tomassi agree with you on this. Top titles not low enough to tempt me (prefer disks), i don't buy EA, better sales previously. So all in all, money 'saved' for once! 😃

Oh hell yes. I just hope the art style isn't unduly modified. It's my favourite style of the whole series! Such a great game

Good! My backlog needs som hammering. I'll polish off Ni No Kuni, Sudden Strike and Yakuza 4.

The camera in 5 almost killed it for me. Liked the game and the world, but the jarring camera shaking was horrendous.

@BAMozzy Thank you the detailed information. I think a 4 TB external will do the trick as i am a collector and don't have any problems with an extra box near the tv.

Can someone help me here. How does an external HD impact on the dashboard? How do i install games? Do i have to choose the 'partition' to install to?

Good chance i might pick up a hard drive tomorrow but not sure whether or not to just get a 2tb internal or save the cash and get a 4tb external

Edit: i should say i'm after a regular HD not SSD as i don't want to spend a lot!

@get2sammyb i think this has been coming for a few years. The proliferation of these conferences to almost 4 a year (for PS) means E3 isnt what it used to be.

@crimsontadpoles that's pretty much all we can do. I haven't bought a new EA or Activision game in a long time. Vote with your wallet/feet is pretty much the only thing a 'consumer' can do to get their point across.
