Anyone know how many people actually went through with that MS offer of trading in your PS3 for $100 off the Xbox One in the run up to launch? Makes me wonder as this kind of comment seems to be a bit contrary to them feeling the need to tempt PS3 owners off in the first place.
Yeah, I've been having the same thoughts. Might sound like overthinking but when we are constantly told we can have TV "on demand", place bets "your way/on your terms", "buy now, pay later"...etc, I do worry that people will just end up having no patience and just expect things there and then. These paid for shortcuts to me seem like just another way of exploiting this attitude that is being built up in society. I don't blame the developers, if we didn't buy them they probably wouldn't exist.
That or maybe I actually am overthinking things
Sammy, I hear you about the gripe on this game. But to be fair, the lead up to release hasn't done itself any favours - heavily delayed, microtransactions, reversal in PS Plus policy....etc These things don't exactly get gamers excited for the title. Like me, my interest in this game has waned over time and other car/racing games are likely to be out in the same quarter. I'm personally more intrigued by Project Cars than this and feel that one may well get my money
Absolutely...100%...Child of Light. Super game. Super soundtrack. Super art and animation. This ticks all the right boxes IMO and is a nice change of pace from killing zombies, FPS...etc
I would wager that PS Plus is definitely a safer bet if you are not too sure about how you think your game will do.
I have no idea how PS Plus works, but I would imagine it is along the lines of "we'll pay you Xmillion (£/$) if you put this on PS Plus for X amount of months". The developer then has to gamble on security vs potential runaway success. Tough, tough decision.
Kell, would be interesting to get your thoughts on this, any insider knowledge of how PS Plus works?
Fair enough. In my mind i have always kind of segregated JRPGs from RPGs (...Skyrim vs Tales of for example).
Either way, can't wait until we get some top quality (J??)RPGs on the PS4. Much as i love the PS3, i just vastly prefer the DualShock 4. Sequel to Ni No would be most welcome!!
I echo the sentiments already mentioned. I'm a recent convert to Tale of games and I have certainly gone out of my way to promote the brand to others. Adored Vesperia (my first Tales of game) and loved Graces F but struggling to get into Xillia. Still, very much looking forward to Chronicles, Hearts and Vesteria.
Got to agree. This was going to be a pre-order for me. But i'm certainly holding off on ordering or buying at all until I know more details. The always online requirement isn't a seller for me either. Full retail price + microtransactions really doesn't scream value for money in the run up to release.

Personally, I would definitely define them as JRPGs as opposed to RPGs but that's just me. What would you constitute a 1st tier RPG then?
