Re: Sony Reveals PS Plus' Most Downloaded Games on PS4

GamerDad66

How cool would it have been to have a list of all future Plus games ahead of time?

Sadly, most of them I had already bought before they got added...

I still add them to my library, mostly just in case my disc copy fails.

When reinstalling, I still use discs because I hate long downloads.

Re: PS4 Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary Today

GamerDad66

My first unit was pretty glitchy and it drove me crazy for a time.

It was affected with auto-eject bug and would eject during play.

As I recall, the games wouldn't suspend, they just closed with no save.

Had to open the unit and put electrical tape over the metal touch button sensor pad.

After that it was fine, and then Sony redesigned the whole thing...

Re: Round Up: Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Reviews Are Hot, Hot, Hot

GamerDad66

If it turns out the disc only has 31GB of data, then this looks really sloppy for Activision.

The 19GB update (rest of the release) could have been on the disc, if they had waited long enough to manufacture this properly.

This whole thing just smells funny.

But ATM, I'm also annoyed with Activision for making the next Diablo game an MMO phone game...

Re: Obsidian, InXile Will No Longer Make PlayStation Games

GamerDad66

Sounds like MS is always looking to buyout developers who are teetering on bankruptcy. Maybe we should thank MS for keeping these studios open for now. But I'm not convinced yet that any of this will help MS restore itself in the gaming biz. At this point, I don't think they know how to win anymore.

I almost feel sorry for people who spent $500 on the Xbox X. No sooner than it came out, MS said they were working on yet another system. Why did they even bother with the X? MS just seems to be flailing around: loose hardware talk and buying up random studios. I just don't see the coherent focus needed to build something that's going to last.

Re: PlayStation Classic Allows You to Create Resume Points in Games

GamerDad66

There's a Gamespot review video on YouTube...

They weren't impressed and felt the product was rushed & limited.

Bought Mini NES & SNES for my son and the features are really polished.

You get scanlines and wallpapers, little items in the interface animate.

They feel fun to use, work well, and make the older games look good.

Re: Guide: All PS4 HDR Compatible Games

GamerDad66

I wish there was some update on Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Xbox has had HDR for like a year now, and we were supposed to get the finished, best version of the game when exclusivity ended.

Yeah, right...

Re: Report Suggests Diablo 4 Announcement Was Removed from BlizzCon 2018

GamerDad66

There's so many exciting things they could have announced...

Why isn't Diablo (PS1) available to downloaded on PS3?

The game costs alot on disc (very rare), so that would be great.

People have been asking for Druid to be add to D3, that would be cool.

People have been asking for a full D2 remaster with console versions.

Then there's D4, but I get that that's a long way off...

But instead we get a freakin' mobile game loaded with microtransactions.

10 Health Potions for only $5... anyone?...anyone?

Re: Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Soundtrack Has Original Composer Stewart Copeland's Blessing

GamerDad66

I have a dual-channel cable modem on major urban broadband service.

My 5-year-old PC can download a 500MB virus update file in 8-10 seconds.

But on PSN even a small patch or game download can take almost a half-hour.

When the Tetris Demo finally appeared today, it downloaded at about 2-5MB per second on a PS4 Pro connected to the 5G band on my wireless network.

My PC is also connected to the same wireless network (legacy 2G) and gets about 45MB per second.

No, it's really on Sony's end... everything with Sony is pretty slow mostly.

If anything downloads quickly with Sony, I'm borderline shocked.

Re: Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Soundtrack Has Original Composer Stewart Copeland's Blessing

GamerDad66

When this game ships, it's going to be hilarious if someone checks the disc on a PC and it's half-empty...

Seriously, my main issue with this whole thing is how unreliable the entire PSN store is.

Downloading anything is a tricky proposition and can be pitifully slow.

Many times it doesn't work at all or even load game icons so you can see what's there.

I went in this morning looking for the Tetris VR demo and as usual the whole store was barely working, then it quit altogether and wouldn't show anything.

I bought a small game (400MB) a few weeks ago and it took an hour to download, which drove my son crazy.

Maybe that was during Red Dead pre-loading (?), but Sony network infrastructure/capacity is highly suspect in my experience.

Re: Diablo III Cross-Play May Not Be Happening After All

GamerDad66

A little worried about erradic moves by Blizzard lately.

Diablo comic announced...and then cancelled.

Netflix show announced...and then cancelled.

Cross-play announced...and then retracted.

I'm hoping for BlizCon announcement about D1 and D2 remasters now.

Having all Diablo games ported to console would be amazing!

Maybe they could have in-game rewards (classic transmogs) for playing all the games on PlayStation.

Re: PSVR Passes Three Million Units Milestone

GamerDad66

I'm just glad that PSVR now plays 3D movies...

If my 3D OLED ever fails (god forbid), I'll still have PSVR.

I also wish Sony would have a VR Anniversary sale in America.

I'd like to get good deals on SuperHot, JobSim, Bzone, and Rez.

Usually only the VR duds are on sale here, from what I can see.

Re: New Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Screenshots Showcase Year of the Dragon

GamerDad66

This feels like the Xbox One rollout debacle.

Activision is playing with fire here and will regret it.

If all three games are on the disc, they need to say it.

If they had some 'unlock' policy, they better change it.

It's going to be very obvious what's going on at launch.

They need to fix this now, before blowing all their sales.

Re: E3 2018: Ikaruga Finally Fires to PS4 on 29th June

GamerDad66

Back when this game came out, CRT TVs were still the thing.

They were really heavy even at normal sizes, like 27" for example.

I remember alot of stories about people accidentally breaking their TVs by rotating for vertical play and then not securing it properly.
