So Blizzcon 2018 is underway, and during the event's opening ceremony, Blizzard revealed what's next for the Diablo franchise. After months and months of rumours, speculation, and a bit of expectation dampening from Blizzard itself, Diablo Immortal was officially announced.

Diablo Immortal is a brand new Diablo game that takes place between Diablo II and Diablo III. It's an action role-playing title complete with multiple character classes, powerful abilities, and loot, but it's safe to say that the reveal has not gone down well. Why? Because it's a mobile game, of course.

At the time of writing, the official gameplay trailer, which we've embedded above, is sitting at 45,000 views. It has 400 likes and almost 10,000 dislikes. The cinematic trailer is doing just as poorly, with 90,000 views, 800 likes, and a whopping 22,000 dislikes.

Now, we're sure that Diablo IV is coming at some point. Blizzard has hinted at this several times, but concluding your big opening ceremony with a Diablo mobile game seems like a misstep to us. Well, either that, or some absolutely top notch trolling.
