I agree this practice is a lame money making scheme at the expense of genuine fans of the product. I also appreciate some people really badly want a PS5. But at the end of the day it's just a toy guys. Just wait a bit and stock will replenish.
@Grimwood even an open world is still bound together by, hopefully, a decent story. But I agree the impact is not as big as a purely story driven game.
To be fair it was given to him, it's not like he went out of his way to obtain one just to sell it on for a profit. He doesn't like it enough to keep it so he sells it. And demand is high so the price is too.
Just spend close to 90 euros on a bunch of indie games last month and I preordered Cyberpunk so Im keeping my wallet closed for at least a few months. Happy hunting for all you others.
@naruball Nope. But it has a couple of very distinct advantages (and disadvantages ofcourse..). Maybe some day in the future it will actually work for the majority of people and instant game installs and updates will make our life objectively better for it
I like to keep as many games installed and up to date as possible because installing and updating a game can take up to a full day sometimes because of massive update files mostly. If they did something about that then maybe 650GB would be enough.
Remember that thing called Stadia, you can add infinite games to your library and launch them instantly. You have to admit that is pretty sweet.
The previous spider man just barely kept me entertained. Im just not much into superheroes and in open worlds so that was still better than I expected. I did enjoy the heck out of Batman Arkham Asylum back in the days. Man that game was good.
@deathaxe yeah to be honest that's the main reason right now why I wouldn't buy one. 600-somehting GB is just not enough to be practical. Funny how they introduced a 'multiple quick resume' option when you can barely fit 4 games on it
Didnt buy a PS5 but still I would never take a day off for the launch of a console or game. Too many uncertainties and you would just end up with a wasted day off. I can imagine getting superhyped and then having to sit through a 12hr system update process
@Wormold Fantastic game. Basically Commandos but set in Japan. The level design is fantastic and there are a lot of different ways to approach an objective. Bonus objectives and higher difficuly mean it also has replayability. Can highly recommend, especially for this price.
@GamingFiend right, because London has never been done before How about Paris, or Stockholm, Prague, Bangkok, Johannesburg, anything other than LA, SF, NY, or London for the umpteenth time.
I guess nice for Sony but personally I would've liked it if sales weren't this high and Sony had to step up their game a bit with their value proposition. The console itself is good value for money sure, but the price increase for games is sketchy and value of Plus has been diminshing over the years while gamepass is only getting better.
A while back there was some discussion on this site whether Sony would change the subsciption models where Plus would include PS Now, and perhaps there was some cheaper alternative for online only. None of that came true unfortunately. In the meantime Sony is still killing servers for games less than 2 years old and shelving out monthly games like NFS that never sold well, were critically burned to the ground and are laden with MTX.
I'll see how it all plays out the next year or so. I have a Pro with an internal SSD so I can hold out for at least a year. The systemselling game hasnt arrived yet in my opinion. On PS4 it was Battlefield that pulled me over the line with 64 player servers rather than 24. That was a big generational leap (even though I played BF2 with 64 players on my laptop years before..). If Cyberpunk was an exlusive that could've been a system seller for me, but it isn't.
if it's days gone I might give it a shot to finish it. I bought it 2nd hand and sold it before I even finished it. maybe I can lower difficulty and run it though to the end. I suppose it had it's moments but it failed to really impress me.
@pip_muzz I was on the fence on getting this someday but your comment has shown me this is not for me. god I hate poor checkpoint placement and unskippable cutscenen. really the bane of gaming for me.
Great list, thank you very much. scribbled some names down to play with either a buddy or my gf. Another coop game someone recommended to me was Think of the Children. I've downloaded it but have yet to play it. It looks pretty funny though
@GREGORIAN It isn't garbage though, it's just failing to innovate itself. Which isn't strange when you release games yearly. But say you haven't played a FIFA game ever, then it's definitely not a bad game to buy. Plenty of content, decent graphics, a lot of gamemodes both online and offline etc etc.
@J2theEzzo opening it and cleaning with a can of air can help a lot after 5 years. Combined with a clean install of the OS and you'll definitely see some performance improvement. Even more so when you take the opportunity to replace the harddisk with a SSD
The power system sounds a lot like Elite Dangerous where combat revolves for a large part around placing 'blips' at the right place (engine, shield or weapons). But hey if it works it works.
Personally I'm not interested in this but it's good to see a Star Wars game made for a niche of hardcore fans. I'm sure a lot of people will really enjoy this for being more difficult.
Still playing this with my gf every now and then but we consumed every last drop of content. Does anyone have a suggestion for a similar light hearted coop game that is fun for her (noob) and me (gaming for 20+ years)?
A generational leap for me was playing Battlefield 3 on the PS3 with 24 players and 12 fps with half a second input lag, then going to BF4 with 64 players and smooth input.
BF4 was the reason I bought a PS4 and I still play it to this day. PS5 has yet to show me such a game. Maybe Cyberpunk on PS4 and PS5 will have massive differences and could be a system seller.
So you pre-order something that isn't even fully revealed yet AND they allready can't meet the delivery date. Sounds like a great deal. I'm keeping my money in my pocket and will probably walk into a store sometime in 2021 when I know exactly what it is I'm buying and when I will get it.
Hot Pursuit was a decent arcade game but not my cup of tea. There wasn't any braking involved so it's not really racing imo.. If you ask me Hot Pursuit 2 back in the days was without a doubt the best NFS of all. It had a perfect balance between realism and arcade handling, a little bit like Driveclub. Also fantastic (sound)tracks, great police chases (didn't care much for the helicoper shooting missiles though..) and car selection. A remaster of that would be mental.
Since there are so many different builds and ways to tackle a mission this should only add to the replayability. I did complete the Witcher 3 and all it's DLC over the course of a couple of years. I then started a new playthrough but it's just too much to all do again even though I'm curious to how some of the decisions will play out.
Maybe with Cyberpunk being shorter I might do a full 2nd playthrough.
@GhostInAJar Rift Apart looked impressive, but with Horizon etc coming to PS4 it makes you wonder how much these games rely on this SSD, what is supposed to be its biggest selling point.
In my opinion they shouldve opened with a PS5 booting up and launching a game from inside the UI, to show just how fast it is. Put your money where your mouth is. Then show a bunch of games and end the presentation with price, release date and pre order information. Then drop the mic and walk away
yeah I'm not pre-ordering. I mean it looks decent and all but especially the price hike in new games is something I'm not too happy about. Maybe an Xbox with gamepass is a better value at this point. I'll just calmly wait to see how things play out next year. I'm sure the stock will be replenished if and when I'm interested in a PS5.
I wonder what would be reasonable. I think a free upgrade is too much to ask. But for 5 or 10euro when you allready own the game? Isnt that a win win? And you can allways play the PS4 version on the PS5 to get some improved performance if you're not willing to pay.
@S1ayeR74 I agree Sony should know better. I do think they have their reasons. A console laumch isnt something you do on a monday morning and I think covid has thrown around their plans a lot. Maybe they feel its better to say nothing than make promises they cant keep, because thats even more dangerous
@Kefka2589 Totally agree. Gaming can be expensive if you want to, but if you have patience and make smart decisions it's easy to get an amazing value for money.
@S1ayeR74 I'm not sure how you translate a Twitter sh*tstorm to a lack of interest..? People are very interested, just a bit fed up with waiting. And these days when people are mildly annoyed about something they start a rampage on social media.
