PUBG Corporation has today announced its plans for PlayStation 5 support. The popular battle royale shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be playable on the next-gen system, although there won't be a new version of the game purpose built for PS5. PUBG can only be played on PS5 via backwards compatibility, then, but that's not to say there won't be any enhancements at all.
The developer has stated the title will "leverage the PlayStation 4 Pro build". When you play on PS5, you'll be able to choose a Framerate Priority option that will allow you to play the game at 60 frames per second. The title will also benefit from "faster loading times" on the new hardware.
In addition, your account and thus all your progress will carry over, so there's no worry about leaving your profile behind. You'll also be able to enjoy the game in cross-play with all supported platforms; if you're playing on PS5, you can continue earning those chicken dinners with your pals on PS4, for example.
Will you be playing PUBG on PS5? Tell us in the comments below.

does anyone even still play PUBG?
Biggest buyers regret i have ever had was buying this game on release. Put thirty minutes in and uninstalled. Fallout 3 on the PS3 looked and played better
@Medic_Alert yeah even at beginning of the game high pc’s had trouble running this game. Not because it was a stunning and very good looking but because very lazy dev’s.
There’s literally no change for PS5 other than faster loading due to PS5 SSD and even that could be bottlenecked due to PS4 code.
Are these extra modes hidden on PS4 Pro then? It'd be interesting to just see the difference in how they'd perform
tried one game when it was free on plus but it just really don't like BR games. It also felt very clunky.

'The “Framerate Priority” option releases on live servers for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro with the October 9.1 Update.'
I dont have the Pro but it sounds like it's new?
@BrintaPap @BusyOlf @Medic_Alert The people behind this game earn so much money! But they ain't using it on the game it self,! Unacceptable!
I like PUBG for the gameplay and I am excited to see it get some minor improvements for the PS5.
With that being said I can agree with others in regards to the devs being poor at their jobs, and the microtransactions are a little ridiculous. There is some things that you have to put up with regarding this game that I don't understand like glitched lobbies, teammates not showing up for you as a teammate creating moments where you accidently down or kill a member of your squad, and there are some minor bugs like the Kar 9 bullets hovering above the character. These are constant issues that will happen at least once during a play session, not something you encounter once a month but everyday.
