Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Mass Effect Legendary Edition Squadmate?

Flurpsel

Really surprised Tali is so popular. She must be my least favorite character. Mostly because I dont like her powers and also because she has an annoying voice.

Voted Garrus btw. He's decent with assault rifles and snipers and the overload power is vital on higher difficulties. Hes also just a cool character. He looks badass, especially in ME2, his actions are also badass and his voiceacting is top notch

Re: Leaked Document Reveals Xbox's Opinion of The Last of Us 2

Flurpsel

@LordSteev personally I think it really added to the gameplay (besides realism). Before a encounter you would have to carefully chose which weapon to equip, considering your ammo and the range it gives you, or you would have to adjust your playstyle to the weapons you allready have equipped.

I also had plenty of cool moments where I did a quick weapon swap and went from being on the run with a sniper rifle to giving a chasing baddie a face full of shotgun. I really like the mechanic a lot better than pulling an infinite array of firearms out of my behind

Re: Gran Turismo Is Going to the Tokyo Olympics

Flurpsel

That's pretty amazing. Kaz took a bit of a gamble with GT Sport and it's focus on online racing, and when it released took quite a bit of flak for it. But the game has been going very strong and I think an affiliation with the olympic committee is pretty much a crowning achievement for him.

Re: Reaction: Days Gone Was PS4's Black Sheep, But a Darn Good Open World Game

Flurpsel

Played it but stopped halfway through. The gameplay was glitchy and the shooting wasn't very fun or felt very good. The story was mediocre and very few truly interesting turns and events. Lots of mediocre side quests and even the main quests weren't good. It was all just a bit meh and I can understand the decision to can it. It's not a terrible game, but when you're being compared to other first party titles like God of War, Last of us and Ghost of thushima the bar is set very high and this didn't reach it.

Re: Days Gone - Open World Comfort Food with a Survival Horror Spin

Flurpsel

@Nintendo4Sonic Same here. I bought it 2nd hand and sold it again before completing it which is sometime I rarely do. Was there more focus I wouldve completed it but the numerous filler missions really tested my patience (eavesdropping on the lab guys for example...). Also after about 10 hours I still hadnt taken on a horde which imo was the headline act for this game..

Now that it's free I'll give it another try and pick it up where I left it. Maybe I can see it through to the end as I dont like leaving games half finished.

Re: Stellar Strategy Title Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Gets Standalone Expansion

Flurpsel

@MJKatana No its not that hard. Of course it isnt easy but saving and loading is super fast so it's easy to just try something and if it doesnt work you just load your quick save.

Completing the missions is very doable with a bit of patience and good thinking, and theres also a hardcore difficulty and tons of challenges and different approaches for each mission so theres a lot of replay value and more difficulty if you'd want to.

And if you get stuck theres allways youtube where some guy does a speedrun while blindfolded or something

By the way I believe its on sale for just 5euro in the EU PS Store so thats a no brainer if you ask me

Re: Mini Review: Hunting Simulator 2 (PS5) – An Unexpectedly Tranquil Excursion

Flurpsel

I can totally see the appeal in just chilling in the environment. For example I find Ghost Recon Wildlands a very relaxing game because of this. In my opinion one of the most fantastic non fantasy open worlds ever made.

And I do basically the same in Elite Dangerous. Just cruising around, exploring the milkyway and taking in the sights.

Am I getting old? I'm probably getting old..

Re: DOOM Eternal Will Tease Its Second DLC Episode Later This Month

Flurpsel

I think DOOM Eternal went a bit overboard compared to DOOM 2016. Too many new mechanics to keep track of during playing which takes away the focus from just shooting things. It feels like 'sequel syndrome' where everything has to be BIGGER and BETTER where a more streamlined experience would be just as good or even better.

Re: PS5 Scalpers Reportedly Don't Like All the Bad Press They Get

Flurpsel

@MarcurShaw also the supermarkets are the ones delivering the product from a hard to get source to the consumer. It's not reasonable for a consumer to visit a farmer everytime they need milk.
The scalpers, however, are the ones making an easy to come by product more difficult to come by (allmost impossible even) ..

They're not lending a service or helping anybody other than themselves

Re: EA Reiterates New Battlefield Game for 2021, Reveal in Spring

Flurpsel

@Vacuumator I usually have a 3.4x scope and canted iron sight (and muzzle brake) on the slower firing DMR's. The faster firing ones I often run with a regular red dot scope because I use them a bit more aggresively.

I think the reason DMR's work so well for me is because you have to adjust your playstyle a bit to compensate for the lack of close range capability. So I moderate myself rather than rushing in and I take the time to flank etc.

But of course this depends on the map, some maps or areas of certain maps don't really allow for DMR's. I allways have a fast firing AR in Oplock for example.

Re: EA Reiterates New Battlefield Game for 2021, Reveal in Spring

Flurpsel

@joey302 well every class has a role and I dont mind snipers per se but it definitely shouldnt be easy. I think my most played class in BF4 is engineer. I allways felt useless as assault because everytime a vehicle comes by I have to cower in a ditch hoping he didnt see me...lol it depends on the map and gamemode though.

Man talking about BF4 makes me want to play it again

Re: EA Reiterates New Battlefield Game for 2021, Reveal in Spring

Flurpsel

@joey302 it's not necessarely the snipers, its more how they play. Sometime I snipe too but I still end up pretty high on the scoreboard because I actively attack objectives rather than sit on a hill for half the match.

And in BF4 because it's so hard to snipe at long distance when I get killed while on the move I just say "nice shot

Re: EA Reiterates New Battlefield Game for 2021, Reveal in Spring

Flurpsel

Used to be my favorite games but after the last iterations I'm not very optimistic about it. I'm mostly concerned about the stupid monetization models they're going to implement now. BF1 had a terrible progression system which took all the fun out of it with it's random lootboxes, rather than using a gun to earn upgrades for it (like BF3 and 4).

BFV wasn't my cup of tea in pretty much every way. the setting, the gamemodes, the maps, the weapons, the progression system and free to play mechanics...The only cool addition of V was the revive mechanic. This added a cool gameplay addition of having to choose to take a risk to revive someone, and shooting a guy holding his buddy in his arms felt pretty brutal.

Oh and for the love of all that is holy please nerf the snipers. BF4 was great in that regard, sniping was difficult so if you would just stay on the move you'd hardly ever get killed. Stand still and you die. In 1 and V you were just constatntly being killed by snipers because of the lame one hit kill addition in BF1 and the massive headshot hitboxes of BFV..

Re: PS Store Critics Choice Sale Cuts the Price of Many PS5, PS4 Games

Flurpsel

@nessisonett I agree Metro is great. I love the slower pace of the games compared to other shooters. Every move you make has to be considerate, managing your ammo, healthpacks, chosing what gear to craft and update. So many options to consider, especially on higher difficulty. You can't just go in guns blazing.

Only downside is the godawfull voice acting. I tried switching to russian but it was still terrible lol

Re: RIDE 4 (PS5) - A Motorcycle Crash Felt from the Inside of the DualSense

Flurpsel

@Nakatomi_Uk yeah they churn them out pretty often and usually they're relatively small iterations as some issues from previous games persist. Even as a bike enthusiast the full retail price is a bit steep for me and I usually wait a while for a good sale.

From a technical standpoint they're not very impressive games but if you like bikes and semi-realistic track racing (memorizing corners and braking points etc. as opposed to the need for speed style racing) you can certainly enjoy these games.
