Ghost of Tsushima has a new update on PS4 (and PS5 if you're playing through backwards compatibility). Patch 1.17 features a handful of bug fixes as well as improvements to both network stability and its Legends multiplayer mode. It's a 949MB download.
As far as we can tell, no official patch notes have been released yet, but we'll be sure to add them to this article when they're available.

Where is the multiplayer mode in TLOU2 again? GOT is the GOTY.
Still maintain it’s basically just FFXV’s Comrades mode!
@nessisonett Maybe, but still better than nothing
@nessisonett Basically... Except it's not dogsh*t.
(Sorry, I have to keep up the appearance of me hating FFXV.)
@Turbodream why is having a multiplayer mode a prerequisite for the GOTY title?
@TheIdleCritic
It's not. Haters gonna hate...
@TheIdleCritic It's not. The free mp update just shows Sucker Punch dedication to their game.
@ShogunRok Hahahaha, that’s fair enough, the multiplayer mode really really isn’t very good at all.
I have yet to touch GoT. I had it before getting the ps5 but wanted to wait to play it on the ps5 for the Frame rate bump but I want to atleast finish spiderman remasters trophies (just the last dlc to 100% and the 2 new game plus ones) before I start it.
Odd I just booted my PS5 and it is downloading a 10.6gb update. I deleted the update to make sure I was on the previous patch and I am on 1.16 so not sure what is going on.
Ok I forced the download again and it is now at the correct 950mb.
@ShogunRok Because it was a mediocre game that felt dated when it was released. The new combat system couldn’t save it. Honestly I’d rather play a proper JRPG like persona.
Currently at the start of the FF7 remake and honestly feeling the same way, though that has nostalgia.
@Turbodream
What you talking bout dog?? I was with you. I agreed with your comment above. Some people have ridiculous expectations for their "GOTY"
@Mega-Gazz You can all say what you want about final fantasy 15,but i thought it was better than the whole of final fantasy 13...
@rachetmarvel I never played 13. I’ve played 1-11, tactics and 15, but not 10-2 and I never quite finished 11 because it was a rental.
@Mega-Gazz Wait how could you rent 11? It's an MMO so it should have came with a unique key unless the console versions only required you having the disc as proof of ownership.
This is far and away my personal favourite game so far this year, and Legends is a solid free multiplayer update. I’m genuinely curious to see what Sucker Punch does next with this formula.
Postponing playing the game because I want to play it 60 fps on ps5
I wish SP add the option to turn off thunder storm weather from stealth kill.
@SilentHunter382 sorry, you’re right, I was mixing up 11 and 13.... which means I did play 13 . It was 12 (the zodiac one) I never played. I did try 14 out for an hour but didn’t want a console based MMO.
@Turbodream TLOU2 needs multiplayer like pizza needed ananas.
I'm surprised that they still haven't fixed the issue with the Hunter's hair. Without a headband it looks like a piece of her head of scooped out.
If TLOU2 wins GOTY, it'll be PRIMARILY for political commentary reasons and to reinforce the "professional" critics that think the audience is too stupid to know what they like...
@Clayton_Bigsby Woah.
FWIW I was comparing persona to Final Fantasy, nothing to do with GoT.
That said, Ghost of Tsushima is a relatively uninspired open world game. Beautiful to the point that screenshots feel like cheating. The combat is tweaked, but it may as well be AC: Japan.
Apples to oranges comparison, but Persona 5 is a much more original series with deeper characters and a plot that tackles more complex issues. It also oozes style. It also has better trivia tests.
Just as an obvious PSA, the comment made by @Clayton_Bigsby is not acceptable in the comments section.
@NYJetsfan123 My bad, sorry ! I deleted my comment.
@LiamCroft I almost didn’t reply, feel free to delete my comment if his is moderated.
@Clayton_Bigsby You are not winning anybody over GOT with that awful comment.
@Mega-Gazz Yours is fine!
@Clayton_Bigsby out of order...would never advocate this kind of language..everybody is entitled to an oppinion but well out of order..
@Mega-Gazz i feel exactly the same as you do. Managed to complete GoT over the weekend but imo, boy was it a slog. Started out loving the game as the setting is just my cup of tea and it looks stunning to boot. I soon got the AC feels for it tho and quickly tired of the classic "clear the encampment" quests and by half way through i felt i had seen it all and was ready to be done with it. I was going to try go for the plat but just dont think ive got it in me now. Couldnt have been that bad tho as ive never actually completed an AC game due to rinse and repeat gameplay boredom.
I hope the other guy will one day become secure in his sexuality and wont feel threatened by homosexuals... Or indeed a video game.
@LiamCroft Maybe think about deleting it instead of letting it sit here for hours, then...

Cadaver on the Amiga was my GotY
Well, that escalated quickly. How did such a casual update article turn so nasty. I suppose it's only one person, but still... Wow!
@wiiware To be honest you can hardly notice it changes the weather, maybe if you go through a camp stealth killing but even then I hardly notice, also a quick left swipe on touchpad and its gone. The weather changes fairly often anyway and is quite subtle, the quickness of the day/night cycle I found was more distracting like the dawn and dusk is only a few seconds spoiling so beautiful sunsets and raises.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Yeah don't think the 3rd island being a lot more blander to look at then the first 2 helps, with just snow everywhere I felt like I rushed through to get to the end not long after getting there, unlike the others where I took my time more, mainly because there was always gorgeous vista or horrifying war crime round every corner. It'd of been nice if there was a bit more daily life happening, especially in the larger settlements but I suppose as it's during an invasion the devs hands were tied. A few mini games would of helped as well.
@LiamCroft Glad to hear they were banned. Can't say I agree with the approach of leaving the comment up, though. I understand where you're coming from, but this amounts to hate speech and I don't believe that should ever be given air to breathe. There's a very real difference between this and someone just voicing an unpopular opinion.
At the very least I wonder if adding a visible label or tag stating the user was banned wouldn't be a bad idea, making the site's policy more readily visible.
@HUMPERDOO "At the very least I wonder if adding a visible label or tag staying the user was banned wouldn't be a bad idea, making the site's policy more readily visible"
Exactly what i was about to say. Slap a great big skull on his post to say hes no longer here ☠️😂
@HUMPERDOO Don't worry, it's being worked on.
@SlyASpiE I love the weather but always thunderstorms is boring, and it’s annoying to play the flute after every encounter. I love my experience in the first island where the weather is always changing, from sunny to rain and the first time I see thunderstorms in the beach is super amazing.
@wiiware yeah that thunderstorm is getting really tiresome. Just finished the game tonight but the last act I rushed through because of the constant thunderstorm.
Useless mechanic imo and very poorly communicated to the player. I feel like Im being punished for playing a certain way.
Other than that a great game
@wiiware I never really noticed it even though I knew about it but I've just been playing it again for few hours after my reply to you and now I can't help but notice it lol 😂 although it's not so much thunder storms, but I am constantly in drizzly rain lol. So yeah it should of been implemented better like maybe after killing a lot more stealthily, or just not at all. Still I did giggle to myself about how dishonorable I must be lol but it's so much easier to smash the encampments by stabbing fools in the back or with a bit of death from above.
@Flurpsel @SlyASpiE Right? I hope SP give us the option to turn it off, the weather system and the skybox in this game is gorgeous, it's better if (stealth) players experienced all the weather rather than only thunderstorms. Can't wait to try the game on ps5, 60 fps will make the game looks like native ps5 games 😃
@SlyASpiE It allmost feels like you're not supposed to play this way, even though the whole plot revolves around it and you're constantly given new badass 'Ghost techniques'.
If I read that the thunderstorms are patched out I might give it a 2nd playthrough someday.
@Flurpsel it's certainly strange choice to implement as the game world is gorgeous to behold when it's not constantly overcast. I've just finished what is essentially my second platinum run lost my save for first play through before game + came out so done it again and started game + surprised how much extra content was hidden behind new game + Sucker Punch really out did themselves with that update what with multiplayer as well, but I don't think I could do it a third time, the last island just drains my enthusiasm, be cracking on with online now as I can't afford Cyberpunk yet
