@render The closet thing to this would something likes MAC... But like I said, you lose that PC freedom, and you would have to deal with that proprietary hardware so a massive increase in price. There is no such thing as "best of both" worlds.
That PC freedom upgradability is what cause the OS issues and dealing with drivers. Even if you boil a OS to be bare bones, you'll still up dealing with driver issue cause Nvidia and AMD are both inconsistent with their driver stability
It either console or PC, no middle ground, and if there was a middle ground it would be what Xbox aka not completely a consoles, nor completely a PC.
@render What you're basically asking for is just a console. The whole point of PC is the dealing with Windows and drivers, tinkering... etc. If you take that away, you're basically just left with an Xbox...
You can't have the that ease of use and still have the freedom what PC offers.
@ChrisDeku That isn't always true. Nixxes always handled all of the day 1 releases of PC port while Crystal Dynamic handled the console version. The main developer alot of the time actually doesn't handle PC ports of games unless they are PC focused developer. Usually they leave a second studio to do the port. While the main team does the console ports.
@Vyns Yeah. I have the G7 and it my main screen for my PS5. I cant remember if the upscaler works with the 120hz. The last time I tried 120hz on PS5 I had to drop to 1080P... And well 1080P looks like straight trash since the monitor won't scale the resolution up. So you're stuck with a 1080P image on a 1440P
@Vyns It should be the same... But the last time I checked. The Samsung G5 Odyssey will only run 120hz+ for the PS5 at 1080P since the you need HDMI 2.1 for 4k and 120Hz+, and the PS5 doesn't support the G5 Native resolution of 1440P. So you better off just sticking to the normal fidelity Mode.
This reminds me that I still need to finish this game... I only played an hour and half of it around release cause it came free with my 2070S at the time.
@LTPenguin Of course the back compat wasn't going to stop the remaster. The way Sony is handling back compat is a cheeky way for them to still sell us remasters since it extremely limited.
@Rudy_Manchego When it comes to purchasing studios... It not just about the titles, but also about the Technology. If Sony did buy Square Enix they would also now have owner ship of engines like luminous engine.
It the same thing with Microsoft buying Zenimax. Microsoft didn't just buy the studios they bought id Tech 6, Zenimax work on VR, Orion.
EDIT: Micosoft purchase of Zenimax also basically crippled Vulkan. Since the next DOOM and Wolfenstein game will probably be running DX12U
@Shepherd_Tallon Yup. Back in 2001, Square Enix had financial problems and Sony bought their stocks. Now Sony was in financial trouble after every thing that happened during the PS3 era that Square bought back their stock to help Sony financially.
@Shepherd_Tallon Sony already had majority share in Square. They sold all of their share in 2014 when they was still trying to recover and streamline its business.
@thedevilsjester Housemarque haven't really been Sony exclusive. They have made games for all platform. Nex Machina was released on PC. The thing is that people only payed them any attention when Sony | PlayStation come into mention. Bluepoint on the other hand... They've was basically Sony exclusive minus the port they handle for Titanfall to the Xbox 360
@Bleachedsmiles The engine scales, but they are still stuck within the limits of what the PS4 Pro was limited it too. It would just spend the majority of the time in upper bounds of that limits.
I would love a full fat 4k mode. But we would also see improvement with load times.
Glad to see that the game is getting some good reviews. I downloaded the demo, and greatly enjoyed the game. To bad that I'll be at the beach, so I won't get to play the full game on release day.
@Subsided The issue at lot of time with cloud gaming is your actual location. I can Stadia and xCloud to run perfectly, but GeForce Now runs like straight dog poop for me.
Also xCloud for PC is still in beta, so it probably doesn't run as well as it does on Android
People are acting like this is gonna suddenly destroy Playstation. Playstation have out grown the need for exclusives, and can simply sell on brand alone now. Playstation is now the Apple of gaming, nothing more than a lifestyle brand.
@The_New_Butler Agreed. I finally received my black plates from dbrands. They look soo good. I also got one of their skins to cover the gloss black from getting scratched.
@carlos82 Not if that added functionality isn't something you wanted. People do buy products based off looks, and not functionality. So yes, for a lot people this is bad thing.
@XinGViruS If this was me. I would have preferred if they gave the option of a waiting list, and only gave the free upgrade to the people who wants it.
@vapidwolf Not exactly true. Look at Turn 10 with Motorsport, or even Polyphony Digital with Gran Turismo. Both games had verifying quality over the years. Playground have managed to take a IP that not even their own and out shine the original creators, and have consistently improve upon it ever release. Last year we should have gotten Motorsports, and we still haven't heard anything from Turn 10 this year. Playground have managed to stick to their release schedule even with the pandemic.
@Rob_230 I would love to see a id software or machine games developed Halo on id tech 7. They would just have to look for 3rd party company to deliver on multiplayer.
@Jaz007 Both Gears 4 & 5 was both impressive and good titles. Halo is what I'm mean with their issue with consistency, but I think the main issue with Halo is just that 343 is a terrible developer. They really need to get rid of Bonnie Ross, just like Disney needs to get rid of kathleen kennedy.
@Jaz007 Idk. Microsoft have managed to make some good and impressive games in the past. Their issue is consistency. I can only think of Playground games who have consistently made good games.
@Jaz007 Start comment by saying "Sony's games" when I said that first party games have made great use of it in my original comment...
Scarlet Nexus is probably like the only 3rd party game out of that list that I've been actually impressed with the feature. But like i said, the is rest... eh. and felt like it just being added cause "why not?".
But for a new feature like this... it just doesn't need "okay" usage. People need to actually be impressed by it with every game they pick up, or we'll just end up having people disabling it. Then developer will either not improve upon or just drop it.
We're only in year one, so it kinda hard not to call it a fad or gimmick right now until we know if it will be fully utilize through the whole generation.
But I agree, it's a seriously underrated feature, and it'll probably be the main reason I stick with Playstation as my main system this generation, and not go back to PC which was my main system throughout the Xbox One/PS4 Generation.
@Jaz007 We're not out of the water just yet on it not being a fad. Most of the games that I've tried that have add it... The implementation isn't great.
One of the games I play with it is FFXIV, and it is down right trash, and wasn't worth being added to the game. Really only the first party titles had good use of it. The rest... eh. and felt like it just being added cause "why not?"
@Korgon Well... Bethesda literally couldn't refuse anyway. Microsoft didn't buy Bethesda. They bought ZeniMax Media. Everyone keep ***** on Bethesda, but they had no complete say in the matter since it completed over their heads.

@lolwhatno Before you try to and make a smart remark about my comment. Maybe you should re-read what I posted. Sony's Funimation Global Group that bought Crunchyroll, not Playstation.
I have no need to edit or change my comment. Cause no body have yet to proven me wrong... We have literary gotten less and less Anime style games from Playstation themselves over the PS4 generation. They naming off franchise 20 and 10 years old. Isn't proving them correct.
What happened to stuff like White Knight Chronicles: Origins, Freedom wars, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, No Hero Allowed... etc?

@TheFrenchiestFry It the same thing with Sackboy as it is with Ratchet and Clank... It's an old respected franchise.
Astro is the last remaining gem from the old age of PlayStation. Lets see if they continue to treat him as nothing but a pack in title, or give team asobi the AAA budget to make an actual game.
Spider-Man is a middle age person in a open world... They want a story about mature and an aged Spider-Man XD
@Omnistalgic Playstation is now run by old western man in suits. They don't see the interest in making an Anime game. All we get now is middle age people running around a dark gritty open world.
@Luigia Wait... Where to do you people keep getting that these games made the most money on PS4...? Most information I can find list that the PC versions general sold more than the both consoles on release.
Any information after that is questionable. Even then I don't think the PS4 sales are that far ahead of the PC sale especially for a console that sold 100 million.
The only Bethesda game I see releasing on Playstation is Tango Gameworks games due to them being a Japanese Developer.

But playing with M+K on a 1ms response time monitor. 120hz is like a night and day difference. It makes 60hz fell like 30hz.
