Re: Rumour Mill Points to 'Really Big' Sony Acquisition, But It's Just Speculation

Floki

@Richnj I hope not. They would just be a waste... Sure they have a bunch of great IPs. But they don't really have anybody to develop them anymore. Sony would have to buy them and then throw a ton of money to build back up the Studios.

It would be better to wait till Konami game development fully kicks the bucket then buy the IP off the carcass.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Floki

@TheRedComet Both the OG Xbox and earlier 360 library was good, but it was nothing mind blowing or groundbreaking. Phantom dust, Fuzion Frenzy, and Blinx 1 and 2 were all fantastic games on the OG Xbox. Blue Dragon on 360 was also my favorite game of the generation.

But there is a reason we only still just have Halo, Gears, and Forza.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

@Fenbops Microsoft has generally struggled since the original Xbox to deliver "quality" exclusives. This isn't something that started the during Xbox One. The Xbox One generation was only slightly worse than the previous generations (not by a lot), and the only thing they was missing was a decent Fable game, and true Rare game.

Microsoft has just finally learned they that can't rely on the back of other developers forever. As game development has changed a lot since the 360 days, and developers don't need big publishers any more to get games out the door. As we have seen a lot studio start to self publish.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Floki

@Reeneman Netflix can't deliver a quality show/movie cause it Netflix. They was never about quality in the first place. Look at Disney+ and Disney, they've managed to released 2 banger in the year (encanto and Turning Red), 3 if you wanna count Luca. These are just about better than any full price movie in the cinema.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Floki

@UltimateOtaku91 343 had the time and budget. They have failed to deliver a quality product going back since they took over development for Halo Reach. Halo 4 wasn't good, Halo 5 wasn't good, and the MCC wasn't good. These games all released before Gamespass was thing. Arguably Halo Infinite has been their best tittle yet.

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Floki

@Amnesiac The line comes from the fact that not everyone stays subbed to gamepass 100% of year. Gamepass is good way to test games before purchase. Xbox also offers a good discount on games through gamepass which in turns cause people to purchase said game while still subbed, so they can play while unsubbed.

I'm sure your coffee bean subscription isnt giving you in store discounts.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Tiny Tina's Wonderlands?

Floki

Nope. I'm waiting till a friend picks it up we can play co-op. The BL games is one of last few remaining franchises that actually has online co-op day 1. That alone is enough to warrant a day 1 from me.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Ghostwire: Tokyo?

Floki

Yeah. I bought it day 1, but I bought it on PC so I was definitely able to get it a bit cheaper than retail. It pretty and a cool concept. Nothing groundbreaking, but not everything needs to be groundbreaking. It a good palate cleanser after elden ring and HFW before Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Plus I don't have an allegiance to Playstation, so I would still like to see what the developers can do and make future games.

Re: PSVR2 Is Playable at GDC and Is Already Blowing Minds

Floki

@lolwhatno Yeah. When it comes to PC anything can work with it as long there is someone with the coding knowledge and time to get it working.

The original PSVR and move controls can also be used on PC.

But as a mainly PC gamer I would love to see PSVR2 come natively to the platform. The PC VR space is dyer need of some actual competition in this space.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

Floki

@Grimwood The issue with Netflix is that they don't have the capital, the in house teams, or IPs. Their only source of income is from their subscription, and they rely solely on 3rd parties to provide the teams and IP. Which means everything they release has to bring in number to recoup development cost. Microsoft has the capital, the IPs and the in house Studios. Games are still being sold the traditional way, so they aren't relying solely on Game Pass to recoup development cost... Even then Microsoft has money to burn so they can afford to take risk. Netflix can't.

Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?

Floki

@mrtennis1990 Which is probably why Playstation is moving solely from releasing content on just Playstation. Services like Game Pass only work when you can give as many devices as possible access, or you're a trillon dollar company. Games Pass is available on just about every device now from Xbox to mobile devices. This is why Playstation bought Nixxes, why they continue to let Bungie develop multi platform games, and why they are working with Microsoft on cloud with azure.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 User Score the Lowest in PlayStation Exclusive History

Floki

@TheArt That suggestion would be great if this wasn't online only game which requires a consistent player base. You definitely don't want people dropping the game and moving on to other games. That is the exact opposite of what you want happening. If this was an offline game, then that would be fine.

This game survival will depend on keeping players happy, and awarding them.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Patch Restores Servers After 24 Hours, Polyphony Digital Comments on Microtransactions

Floki

@Titntin While FH5 had MTX, they never even came close to borderline focing you to use them. The game straight up gave you any car you wanted. The game also didn't just randomly change the value base of the RL value. So you can basically go through an entire playthrough with noticing them.

Also while Microsoft is a bit heavy hand with mtx. Halo Infinite is a f2p and isn't a $70 game.

Re: Poll: Will You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

Floki

@Lup Yeah. I saw that part after I went back and rewatch the video. I missed it the first time since I watch the stream while at work. XD

It sad that they spend more than 20 seconds on it tho.

Re: Poll: Will You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

Floki

I am so excited! I am big fan of the books and movies. The games have always been some of my favorite video games ever. So, I definitely can't wait. My only question is character customization and the option to pick your own house... I don't know if they said anything about that in the video.

Re: GTA 5 on PS5 Features Three Visual Modes, Faster Loading, Enhanced Graphics, Much More

Floki

@Texan_Survivor Not even a RTX 2080 equipped pc can hit 4k and 60FPS without massive dips in GTAV. A PC like that is still a bit stronger than a PS5, and that's without the enhancements promised.

Also the thing about older games... There not always a guarantee they're gonna run better on newer hardware. Depending on the game or engine, it not gonna take advantage of the massive CPU core count, or any other features that the GPU offers to get good performance. Alot of the time it up to the hardware to brute force good performance.

Re: Steam Deck Is Running PS4 Games Like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn Remarkably Well

Floki

@GADG3Tx87 Yeah... I'm gonna call bullcrap on that. There have been multiple report, articles, forums, reddit post about either the Switch getting hot or the fan getting loud. There also been hundreds of multiple teardown videos, so there would have been no way you could have gone a long time without knowing about the fan.

So tells me you don't actually pay attention or don't actual use your switch a lot.

Re: Steam Deck Is Running PS4 Games Like God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn Remarkably Well

Floki

@GADG3Tx87 Even the Switch gets hot to the touch and the fans spin up crazy in that. This is with the being the Switch being ARM based. It not surprising at all if the APU in the Steam Deck get toasty

@Ralizah The thing is Valve isn't thinking about any revisions of the current Steam Deck. This isn't a console, it a PC. They did what they could with the Steam Deck and now moving on to the Steam Deck 2. This system isn't gonna have the shelf life of a console where it see multiple revisions and components changes... etc
