This looks miles better than the first. I really loved the first as it was clear they were punching above their weight. This looks like a lot of lessons learned.

@Shepherd_Tallon how is Screamer? I’ve seen the reviews and debated whether or not it was enough to justify the price.

I’m fully locked and rotating between Minishoot Adventures, the incredible Resident Evil Requiem, and the amazing Crimson Desert. What a game! It’s an incredible sandbox, and honestly, what story there is I am digging. Gathering lost brethren to return your clan to glory while solving the mystery of the “rocks in the sky.” There’s something to always stumble on or a quest to begin. Enjoy the weekend all!

@Mes_Urson I have about 10 hours on launch day PS5. Honestly, and maybe I am not a graphics snob, but the world feels alive for me, and it looks good enough. I watch videos from PC of it, and no, it does not look like that, but I have found that if I adjust just a few menu settings, I have no issues. Turned Blur all the way down, reduce the particle effects for framerate (just a smidge), turned off VSync, and I still feel like I am playing an incredible experience. Sure, something like Requiem puts it to shame, but the scope isn't there either.

@Divergent95 If that is your reasoning, you are missing out. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. If you are going to let politics infuse itself into your purchasing habits, you might need to return that PS5 that could have parts made in the Foxconn factory.

Great game, enjoyed my time with it. Hopefully it gets resolved or returns in some fashion

I would hope this to be true, not just for fans of the game, but simply because this is the fun side of gaming I sometimes miss. Companies playing with and then fulfilling expectations.

@GalacticHam I've messed with settings a few times too, but I am going to try yours out later and see the difference vs my presets. I think I missed the depth of field one, so that might be the key for it to look even nicer than before!

Either way the removal of these is a start. I’m all for anyone making and creating games, but let’s be honest, there is a line in the sand about what should constitute a game. Call it the Nintendo Seal of Quality if you like.

The age of those in the comment section are being revealed. That or the memory. We used to have such bizarre control schemes back on PS1, without uniformity, and yet some of those games today are so highly remembered for what they were. Go play Syphon Filter again and you’ll see how some choices were baffling.

@mac_da_man Brutal turns it into a Hotline Miami style game for the first few levels while you are under leveled. Very rewarding and really forced me to engage in the arena space.

@mac_da_man Metal Eden is one of those games that got ignored during release, but I thought was very enjoyable. Playing it on Brutal difficulty really opened up the mechanics.

Platinum #147 this week, Romeo is a Dead Man! Now I’m fully locked and rotating between Minishoot Adventures, the incredible Resident Evil Requiem, and the incredibly divisive Crimson Desert. This game, for my money, is what I wanted. It’s got Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Tears of the Kingdom and KoreanJank (the cousin to EuroJank) all in one package and I love it.

Honestly, I have tested it on two different screens, played about an hour, and for me, I don't mind the visuals one bit. People spent too much time riding on the hype train for this one (partly Pearl Abyss' fault too). I am enjoying it for what it is, and maybe it's because I am playing Balanced, without HDR on a base model without VRR on (my TV does not support it) so I have had few issues.

If one reviewer says the story is fantastic and another says it wasn’t there, then we have to ask what the disconnect was.

If one reviewer deducted for bugs, but another said they been patching during pre release then we need to consider that as well.

This game is divisive and everyone will believe what they want to justify their non purchase or purchase. As I said, they made up their minds before reviews.

@DETfaninATL Agreed. Played it on the hardest difficulty, and it felt like another Ghostrunner, Hotline Miami style game as there was little room for error before death.

About to finish the final boss in Romeo is a Dead Man and I want to platinum it I think. I’m also slowly working my way through RE Requiem and I must say, this will be a top 3 game for me this year. Otherwise Art of Rally as I work on the platinum, and I will add Minishoot Adventures in there as I’ve waited a long time for it to come to console. Really I’m counting down to Crimson Desert. This will be a game everyone has decided on before it releases. It will be one side screaming they were right about it being overhyped and the other side convincing the entire internet it’s the next level of AAA experience. Very few will say they were wrong or that they changed their mind for better or worse.

Space Marine 2 is dope. Metal Eden is very enjoyable on the hardest difficulty. And I almost bought Blasphemous 2 so I’m glad I waited.

Dynamic pricing isn’t just a Sony experiment. Sadly, this is the digital and brick and mortar future. The moment price tags become full digital, there’s opportunity to price it differently across stores in an area.

@Kiefer-Sutherland agreed! I’m a few hours in and the atmosphere and Bioshock vibes allow me to easily forgive performance issues. I just wish the trophy for money would get patched as I’ve seen it is glitched for me (says in game I’ve earned it but I haven’t yet).

It’s here! Resident Evil Requiem has been a blast so far. It’s a fantastic homage to what the series is after 30 years. Beyond that spending some time with Crisol Theatre of Idols. What an atmospheric Bioshock meets Resident Evil style game! And of course Romeo is a Dead Man has also been consuming my time. The more I play the more I love it.

Lastly, Arc Raiders has been eating my time as I try to goop my way to the expedition. Happy gaming all!

It is very much a mix of those two. I’m pretty sensitive to that stuff, from framerate drops to screen tears, etc. when something isn’t consistent I can tell. From what I’ve seen it might happen in a later level with enemy density. At this point I haven’t hit that portion of the game.

@rustym82 I’m about two hours in and have no issues. It may be a later level thing, but I often find I don’t always have the same issues others do with certain games.

Finally finished AI Limit. A good souls like and honestly one I’ll go back to. Beyond that spending some time with Crisol Theatre of Idols. What an atmospheric Bioshock meets Resident Evil style game! I’m going to love it I can tell even if it is janky. And of course Romeo is a Dead Man has also been consuming my time. It’s my favorite Suda so far.

Lastly, Arc Raiders and maybe I finally get Nioh 3 and begin my journey. We shall see! With Requiem around the corner I’m torn on waiting or diving in!

Sony has already been tight-lipped this generation in a way that hasn't made them look as foolish as Xbox. Their choices, however, from Concord to FairGame$ to this closure and GoW seem to be filling the void.

@Fiendish-Beaver agreed. Anyone who played it seems to understand it was a wonderful homage to all of what came before it. I’m a little shocked it didn’t sell more, but I think that was a lot of games media complaining they had played “this game before.”

Trying to wrap up AI Limit so I can fully focus on Romeo is a Dead Man. It’s been fantastic so far, but I also loved Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw, so I know what I’m fully in for there. Honestly, the Push Square review here was a bit harsh by comparison.

Otherwise I’m finishing up preparing do the Expedition in Arc Raiders and working my way through a second playthrough of RE3

Banging on with AI Limit to reach the end so I can get back to Nioh 3. I also am working on Art of Rally which I’m really enjoying. Beyond that I’ve got a backlog of started games I’d like to also work on.

I still have my PS3 Netflix Disc. Crazy to think that support for the PS3 is still going. I did fire mine up last year to play some older games though.

Honestly, I’m all over the place this weekend! Nioh 3 demo along with Resident Evil 3 and AI Limit. I’m also dipping into Arknights Endfield because I want to see what the building aspect of it is like. I also need to work my way through FF Tactics.

A little bit of everything when I’m not busy with the kids.

I really think they want to be this generation’s Witcher 3. Looking back at that game it’s hard to believe we got what we got at the time.This feels unreal too, and it’s becoming my most anticipated game.

@RudeAnimat0r you had me at Streets of Rage 4. Does it have more to it than Cosmic Invasion? I enjoyed that but felt like when I was done with it there was no reason to stick around.

@KundaliniRising333 I got it on sale during the holiday event on PSN. If you liked Code Vein I think you’d like it. I’m impressed by it for what it is: China Hero project developed game, first game by the developer, and an anime style soulslike. In other words, it’s not clunky, but it’s not top tier, but well worth the price.

I’ll still play it. I liked the first one. It just might be a sale game since Nioh 3 is coming and I’ve already got AI Limit as my current soulslike.

I’m curious but have so much to play I’ll see what the community decides. Some people are too quick to crap on games, because they forget what truly awful games are like.

Platinum on Marvel Invasion finished. Did the whole thing solo and loved it. Still working on FF Tactics and AI Limit

I also started messing with The Exit 8 and it’s awesome as an experience.

Don’t know how much time to play I’ll get before we lose power in the nasty ice storm coming our way.

Honestly, been playing the same stuff and itching for a new experience but have no idea where to go next, and hate to abandon what I’ve been playing, but time constraints have made it tough to not play something in short bursts.
