Death Stranding 2 all weekend baby. Maybe I’ll finally wrap up First Beserker and then I can split my time between DS2 and Wuchang. And I’ve got a certain play test I’m in I cannot speak about so I’ll be doing that too! Happy gaming everyone!
@Northern_munkey had to scroll down a bit to find someone making sense over the review versus personal opinion. I feel the same about Khazan and I’m excited for this one. YouTubers who cover souls games almost exclusively seem to like this one so I’m good. I’ve seen and read enough.
But what do I know? I loved Wanted:Dead because it really forced you to play it a certain style and that didn’t jibe with most people.
I’m also stuck on a boss in First Beserker which is not unusual. I spend days working through those because the little ones afford me little time to practice.
Finally, I’ve gotten an itch for the First Descendant mainly because it’s Live Service Slop and I’m preparing to earn the Nier gear.
I loved it. I easily bought enough digitally to earn upwards of $100 in store credit or more just for buying and playing like I normally did. It’s a shame it basically died like the vita. Bad strategy and lack of interest.
As someone who work with teens these comments are all painfully unaware of where and what kids play. Believe it or not Fortnite, Roblox, and games like Genshin Impact or other F2P games eat up my students time when we talk about gaming. I occasionally get the kid who loves RPGs, or something beyond sports and F2P, but the Gen Z audience is different.
@Kidfunkadelic83 I got several chapters or levels in and remember quitting because I hit a wall. What started out, as I recall, as tactical and fun became a management of AP and position to a degree that felt like it wanted me to move through the level in a very particular way.
I’ll be on the beach with Death Stranding 2 along with First Beserker and Ender Magnolia, even though the latter 2 have fallen by the way side for the first.
What an incredible time of gaming. If anyone believes there’s nothing to play, they haven’t opened the browser on the store!
@Kraven I agree on all you said about DS2. Dollman is a blast!
No one seems to have mentioned, and I am sure this is not on accident, that Kojima chose the voice actor for Dollman who also happens to play Jesus in The Chosen. Surely the tiny doll who helps guide you and give you advice being the character of Jesus in another piece of media is no accident on Kojima’s part.
@RaZieLDaNtE Khazan has made a lot of changes since it first came out, so by the time you get to it I imagine it’ll be ina very strong form. Added difficulty options are nice as it’s the hardest Soulslike I’ve ever played.
And DS2 is exactly what Kojima needed it to be as you said. Refined gameplay and more of his weirdness and vision! Enjoy your weekend my friend!
@lazarus11 I love already the idea of a mutiny of your own self against you lol. That would irritate me, but I imagine you can go back to a save state?
Waiting for Death Stranding 2 this week so I am considering The Alters. Other than that trying to work on Khazan though I think I’m giving up in favor on Ender’s Magnolia.
I may go back to Sinking City this week until DS releases.
I think this can easily be misinterpreted as Kojima being arrogant or foolish or proud. He wants to avoid conventional games. He would rather it be divisive and polarizing because that’s what pushes conversation forward. If we all agree you create a hegemony that becomes cliche and trite. If he didn’t challenge us he wouldn’t know what would succeed. After all that what was made the first one a cult classic. It polarized people with the idea that the landscape was the enemy more than BTs. I guess you can all go back to your Ubisoft and EA games.
@whitejessegpfc Nobody Wants to Die was wonderful as an experience and I constantly recommend it to those looking to play a walking detective sim. It never frustrates, the atmosphere is the Blade Runner Noir game I’ve always wanted and the run time to finish it and platinum it perfect. Enjoy!
I’ve spent more time than I care to admit playing a level a day of First Beserker to the point I may quit with 4 bosses left. It’s worn me down.
I’ve begun the wonderful Ender’s Magnolia and the Overture Lies of P DLC. Beyond those two gems I think I may continue back up my Sinking City playthrough or move onto something else until Death Stranding 2 which might be the only other game I stick with since Expedition 33 seems to have left me wanting.
@ShogunRok came here to say the same thing. Just downloaded it to catch up on the Nighty City DLC I never got to and now they want me to pick it up again later this month!
@Splat I highly suggest looking up or changing around your builds. I managed him on the second try after realizing I could one-shot my way through each phase by utilizing synergy between my party members.
Finally bagged the platinum on Clair Obscura Expedition 33 and it’s easily my top 3 favorite game of all time. I started a NG+ run to dip in and out of.
Now I’m back to First Beserker and Blue Prince but I’m really temmted to pick Deliver at all costs as a palette cleanser.
@BusyOlf Yea S was wicked with that. However, I intentionally made sure that those who came after were capable of one shotting so I didn't have to worry about dragging out the fight.
The older I get, the more I cringe at long timelines for games, and the more I think about how few games Kojima has left in him, and how I have less and less in me. Nonetheless, I'll be looking forward to it!
This weekend is all about Expedition 33 as I wrap up Act 3 and work on the platinum. What an incredible game that has moved me more than many games. Afterwards I continue to chip away at Blue Prince and First Beserker Khazan which both fell into hiatus with Expedition.
Lastly I’ll try out some Blades of Fire and maybe touch Onimusha or Trepang 2
This is a fantastic month for me. I skipped Sandland, Soul Hackers 2, and STALKER, hoping to add them to the to-do list one day, so now I have no excuse. Are they top tier? No. Are they aligned with my curiosity and interest in games that are of a 7/10 quality, yes!
My guess is word of mouth continues to push Expedition 33 upwards, while something like Oblivion or other titles will sell continually, but their big pop came at launch.
I am one of those who will get Oblivion down the line, but saw no rush as I've had twenty years to play it; Expedition 33 however was new and priced fairly, so I had to dive in to support a new dev.
It would be nice to see more smaller teams get their flowers for a few weeks, let the larger market continue to expand its palate.
About to wrap up Expedition 33 and hoping to avenge those who came before by taking down the paintress! So we shall see how close I am to the end. Afterwards I’ll do the end game content and work on the platinum. What an incredible game!
Then it’s back to Blue Prince and my notebook.
I’ll mix in some First Beserker of Khazan as well as I am slowly chipping away one mission and boss at a time.
@Korgon Ah ok, I think I misread your initial comment then. I can see that for sure. I think whatever or wherever Sandfall goes from here that could be a “let’s do this in our next game” goal.
Now you’ve got me thinking about other AAA RPGs and how much or little they accomplish that goal where the main character is absent from the conversation.
@Korgon I think the bonding for me occurred a lot during the optional Campfire scenes. That was when I laughed, smiled, and even lamented the most how this journey has developed. Hopefully you are hitting those as a supplement to help see that camaraderie.
Near the end of Act 2. It is easily a top ten game for me of all time, and that's growing up with Atari as my first console. I love the story and the originality of it, even if it hits some tropes on occasion. The combat, honestly, has yet to get stale after 20 hours, and I suspect by the time it "gets old" I will be in the endgame content and satisfied.
This is easily a game I would replay years from now to enjoy again.
I’m obsessed with Expedition 33. This has cracked my top ten games of all time and after Act 1 I can see it cracking my top 5. Truly incredible work and as a gamer who has been playing since owning an Atari as a kid, that speaks to what they’ve accomplished here.
Also still working on Blue Prince and First Beserker of Khazan. What a year of games!
@Northern_munkey @freddquadros @shepherd_tallon @rusty82 @kidfunkadelic83 @Czar_khastik funny to see us all wondering the same thing, but also love seeing what you all and the rest of the posts here are playing every weekend! Always the highlight of my Saturday morning. Cheers all!
Blue Prince has me enraptured but I still am wrapping up Atomfall endings and still grinding away bosses in First Beserker of Khazan. I’d like to finish two of the three before Expedition 33 this week but I doubt that will happen! Too many games!
@roe I couldn’t pinpoint why I picked up my Switch again this week either but I think you solved it. The justification that I deserve the new one because the original still gets used!
@Kraven the third boss before and after the patch was night and day for me. I spent a good chunk of early access stuck on him, but post patch wiped the floor with him. This is one of the hardest souls games by far. I imagine it will filter out many players by boss 3 or 4 (where I currently am).

Still keeping on with Death Stranding 2 and it’s everything I hoped it would be from top to bottom. An incredible piece of work from Kojima again.
Other than that I dabble in First Beserker; I am three bosses away from being done.
Lastly, I’ll dive into a few backlog games when time allows.
Re: Of Course Hideo Kojima Would Want to Make a Game in Space
Future headline: “Sony helped Kojima make Physint in space” lol. Oh Kojima.
Re: Ghost of Yotei's Pricey $250 PS5 Collector's Edition Is for the Hardcore Fans Only
Before kids I would have been all over this. With 3 of them under 6 running around, I’ll let others enjoy it lol
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 587
Death Stranding 2 for me this weekend. Beyond that maybe some Kahazan but honestly all I can think about is building some bridges!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 587
Late in posting but it’s all Death Stranding 2 this weekend for me!!!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 584
Still grinding Khazan and finally making progress.
Tried out Cairn and it’s relaxing and stressful at the same time.
Otherwise all my time will be on Nioh 3 Alpha and the Lies of P DLC
Re: Lies of P: Overture DLC Out Now, Costs $30 on PS5, PS4
And purchased! Easily my most anticipated DLC this year right next to Stellar Blade. Let’s go!
Re: Standalone Sequel Mortal Shell 2 Brings Adrenaline Charged Combat to PS5

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 583
After the Platinum in Expedition 33 nothing has stuck with me the last two weeks. I started NG+ in it just to experience it all again.
Beyond that working my way through First Beserker slowly while playing a few new things including Trepang 2 and The Sinking City
Re: Completely Free PS5, PS4 RPG Features Unknown Heroes from Other Games
Jack Move and Chained Echoes! I know Chained Echoes always gets its praise but I really enjoyed Jack Move too. The aesthetic was right up my alley.
Re: Free DLC for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Presents an Otherworldly Venture on PS5, PS4
I should pick this up. Loved the demo but had other things to play. Might be a nice game to squeeze in before DS2

@Marquez just said the same thing below! Scrolled up and glad to see I’m not the only one who feels that way already.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 578
Expedition 33 which is already my GOTY unless Death Stranding 2 can prove me wrong.
Otherwise it’ll be finishing up Blue Prince and First Beserker of Khazan.
I did finish all 6 endings for Atomfall this week as well.
What a year already for me. Those games are all easily the best games of the year and can see only one or two others knocking them down for me.

Blue Prince has me enraptured but I still am wrapping up Atomfall endings and still grinding away bosses in First Beserker of Khazan. I’d like to finish two of the three before Expedition 33 this week but I doubt that will happen! Too many games!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 576
Wrapping up Atomfall I hope. Then more First Beserker of Khazan. What great games!
Then I am fascinated to try the Blue Prince and on my Switch I’ll finish Thank Goodness You’re Here
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 575
@roe I couldn’t pinpoint why I picked up my Switch again this week either but I think you solved it. The justification that I deserve the new one because the original still gets used!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 575
Working on First Beserker of Kahazan still along with Atomfall as well.
I’d like to wrap up both next week so I can begin to prepare for Expedition 33
If time allows I’ll also chip away at building my team in The Show 25 and I’ll work through Prince of Persia
Lastly on the switch I started Thank Goodness You’re Here and it’s brilliant. Humor is top notch.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 574
@Kraven good luck to you as well! This more than any other souls game definitely has me memorizing patterns before success.
