@Steeleye50 I really dug Bright Memory Infinite for as short as it was. Had some cool ideas and ultimately is a joy if you get it for a few bucks to kill a few hours.
Finally finished Slitterhead. Almost finished with Metaphor ReFantazio; it feels like it goes on forever.
So I’m ready to move on to Silent Hill 2 or most likely I’ll get lost in Infinity Nikki some more. I’ve also considered diving back into Night City and finally helping the president.
@breakneck same. About 45 hours in I lose my tolerance for them. I’ll never understand it either because so can spend 130 in Elden Ring and 80 in FF7 Rebirth among others. I think it’s just the overwhelming amount of dialogue. If I wanted to read a book I’d be happy to go do so like I often do, but I need a game that doesn’t force me to be “social” with comrades for 85 of its 100 hours.
Still on Metaphor. While I really enjoy it I also can’t help but realize that Atlus games are too long for me. I never finished Persona 4 or 5 and I’m trying to finish Metaphor but golly it really does go on forever.
Beyond that I’m enjoying Infinity Nikki way more than I thought, still working on Nine Sols and Slitterhead and I’d really like to play something new.
So I may start Mouthwashing on PC or find something like System Shock to play for the first time.
I’m in kinda of a gaming I want to play but nothing is sticking out slump.
Edit. Forgot POE2 is also brilliant at the moment.
Working on Nine Sols and deep into Metaphor Refantazio.
However having watched Secret Level I feel like Space Marines 2 is back on the menu, along with the new HellDivers 2 update (which is very good by the way).
Edit. Forgot to add in POE 2 as an absolute gem of ARPG goodness.
Still stuck on Metaphor. Stuck meaning my limited time to play as father of 3 dictates I get through maybe 3 calendar days a session or one dungeon if it’s short enough!
Other than that I’m also balancing Nine Sols and Path of Exile 2. I love both so far and really am glad I did early access for POE2.
I may get back to Slitterhead. I really enjoyed my 10 hours with it I just haven’t felt the mood for that or Silent Hill 2 lately.
I’m tempted. I’ve got a lot to play but I really got into D4 upon release and that has shown me I’m a sucker for these games. Combine that with the souls like challenge I keep hearing about and I’ll pony up the money to support them.
Infinity Nikki, Nine Sols, and Metaphor for me. I’m really tempted to join EA for POE2 but the unexpected server overload has me waiting to purchase and dive in until that is sorted.
Enjoy your weekend everyone and may it be blessed!
I am pretty excited about this one. Whether it winds up janky or not, I will play it, as Wanted: Dead did a great job with gun fu. Highly underrated game that wanted a certain playstyle from people, and I think when most couldn't solve it, they wrote it off as poorly designed. I think this will risk the same trappings, but I will be there to play it Day 1.
Need to get back to the first one, started with the story mode, and then realized how closely it followed the arcs and just was not in the mood at the time. I will dive back in at some point next year I am sure.
As a full time employee, married, father of 3, yea I watch more than I play, but only because it is way easier to put on a video while I work or to put on a video while holding a kid for a nap than it is to play. And I follow a handful of creators who I enjoy the commentary more than the game.
Having played the beta it felt like it would be easy to spend 50-60 hours with this and no even consider a mtx or battlepass. And I say that as someone who stuck 60 hours in Genshin before even considering any mtx and has spent 20 with ZZZ without spending a dime too.
@Rich33 I would hope that swap you are talking about is saved for a more expansive sequel. I’d love to see P along with a cast of characters you bc a swap between. Expand the universe so to speak.
Played the beta this month on PS5 and have to admit, it’s up there with games like Snowrunner or Stardew Valley. And by that I mean it’s nice to plop on a podcast, chill, and not stress over anything but very lite combat, collecting stars and materials and crafting new dresses. Could be a nice complement to play alongside something more sweaty like Souls games or MP fair.
I have been interested in this one all year and am happy it is finally on consoles. I need a smaller game to play alongside Metaphor, and this will fit the bill nicely.
I went from rolling my eyes on this to signing and playing the beta and I’m really enjoying it. I have one issue and that’s what feels like stuttering framerates here and there. Even for a chill game it really rips me out of the experience.
@Daleaf Stellar Blade is my GOTY so far. The combat is a blast and I loved the boss fights so much I regularly dip back into boss rush mode to play it again.
I’m on Chapter 5 of Black Myth Wukong and it too feels like it has no business being the first AAA game from a studio. It’s long and is more a boss rush game than anything with areas to explore and cannon fodder between.
@breakneck amen to that! Loved AC6. I feel like you might enjoy GhostRunner if you can get past the one hit one kill aspect. The breakneck speed of dodging perfectly through a level mowing down enemies is fantastic.
This sounds perfect for me. It's a shame that everyone will cry "deep sale" or at a discount, and then lament when they get the same AAA garbage fed to them that everyone buys on Day 1. And that is their choice, but I prefer to vote with my wallet and buy the goofy stuff Day 1 and let the other stuff sit if I know that company will be just fine without me.
I love Mike Bithell games but John Wick Hex was a little underwhelming the more I played it. I sense this is taking a bit from Volumetric (if I recall correctly that’s the name). It looks fine, but I sense as much as I love Tron this will not satisfy.
I’ve been enjoying this so far. I’m only level 5 but everything I have done has satisfied me as a single player of games. I’m sure I’ll bounce before end game content so I’m not bothered not having a guild to run with.
@Golem25 I have no doubt there is toxic positivity infesting the team; add to that a desire to take all the DEI funding you can and it’s a recipe for creating another game trying to spread (and I can’t stand this term) “the message.” When you have people make a game who have swallowed the belief that politics belongs in everything, you get a game like this. Look around the whole industry and it’s more prevalent than you would think. They think Gen Z cares about this messaging, but I work with them and they don’t even see it.
Never heard of it but if it is anything like some of the other excellent indies to come out and surprise people (Doki Doki) then we are in for a treat.
Loved the first. Was terrible at it, but excited for round 2. Glad to see there are devs out there capable of making great games on a budget that is easy to recoup.
I am still working on Astrobot. The birth of my 3rd slowed down my gaming a bit hahha.
Otherwise I have really been enjoying Black Myth Wukong, just started Chapter 3. I'll also be touching on Vampire Survivors for a few rounds here and there, and hopefully returning to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC at some point.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
Finally wrapping up Metaphor. Great game but could we stop having 3 endings before the actual ending?
Beyond that I may move into Silent Hill 2 and something with a shooter spin to it. Thinking The Ascent looks real appealing on Premium.

Re: Game of the Year: Sammy's Top 5 PS5 Games of 2024
I feel like this could very closely mirror my own top 5 this year. I never got to Infinite Wealth, but the rest are up there for me as well.

Still crawling through a trio of games:
Slitterhead
Metaphor Refantazio
And I was working on Prodeus but have since picked up Nine Sols and now I am itching to keep diving deeper into that.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 556
The very 2000’s Slitterhead. I can’t stop.
Also deeply ingrained with Metaphor Refantazio and loving it.
Beyond that may get back into Prodeus before it leaves Premium and dip into Blood Omen.

@Enuo Came here to say the same thing!
Re: Do You Really Want Devs to Make Lower Budget, More Original Games for PS5?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 555
Finally on Chapter 6 of Wukong. So wrapping that up sometime soon.
Beyond that it’ll be plenty of Metaphor and Slitterhead. Loving both.
Re: Reminder: PS Plus Extra, Premium to Lose 18 Games in a Week
Started Superliminal and got sidetracked. Time to wrap that one up!

@Lyedecker I’m still in disbelief how much I’m enjoying Infinity Nikki. It’s so…..chill.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
@Ravix Nobody Wants to Die is a lowkey GOTY contender for me. Loved that it was a chill detective narrative game with no risk of failure.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
Slitterhead my friends!!
Along with the Infinity Nikki Beta, Black Myth Wukong, and Metaphor. So much to play!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 553
Still working on Meraphor.
Started back up Black Myth. Near the end of Chapter 4. Difficulty is getting there.
The rest of the weekend will probably be spent on some co-op in Dead Island 2 or smaller indies like Kill Knight
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 552
Just finished Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider. Excellent short Shinobi meets Mega Man style game.
Now to continue playthroughs of:
Black Myth
Metaphor Re
Balatro
I’d like to maybe pick up Silent Hill and put it in the rotation. We shall see!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 551
Working on too much.
Trying to platinum Rise of the Ronin.
Black Myth Wukong Chapter 4
Metaphor Refantazio through the first dungeon.
Hmmm what else lol. Oh Timesplitters. Never played it so figured I’d dip in!
If time on my stinky switch I’m working through Link’s Awakening.
Re: AI Limit PS5 Demo Available for One Week Only
Andddddd downloading now. Will play when the kids and missus is in bed.
Re: TRON: Catalyst Is an Isometric Action Adventure Set within Disney's Video Game World
I love Mike Bithell games but John Wick Hex was a little underwhelming the more I played it. I sense this is taking a bit from Volumetric (if I recall correctly that’s the name). It looks fine, but I sense as much as I love Tron this will not satisfy.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 550
Trying to be a good boy and finish Rise of the Ronin and Black Myth before I go crazy and buy Silent Hill 2 and Metaphor Re.
But I only have so much patience and my wallet is burning with the cash for both!!
Edit: forgot I was also dipping into Kill Knight which is excellent!
Re: Throne and Liberty (PS5) - Beginner MMO Is Plagued with Technical Issues

@astro911 a fellow Wanted Dead fan! There are dozens of us! Loved that gem.
Also really enjoyed Valkyrie Elysium too so you are in for a treat!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 549
Everything and nothing it feels like.
Black myth Wukong Chapter 3
Rise of the Ronin working on Chapter 2
Links Awakening Dungeon 2
Dabbling also in some indies:
Kill Knight
Black Light
And if time allows Doki Doki LC

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 548
Playing the excellent space marine 2. What a throwback to the PS3 Xbox charm of the bro shooter. It’s Gears of War all over again.
Also workin on Black Myth Wukong.
If time allows I’d like to revisit Rise of the Ronin or start Blacklight.
Re: Twee Free PS5 Gacha Infinity Nikki Looks Cute as a Button
I hate how much this game has grown on me with every trailer. I went from hard pass to thinking this might be a nice relaxing cozy winter game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 547
Platinum time for Astrobot.
Then between caring for the newborn I’ll aim for more Vampire Survivors and finally get back to Wukong.
Time allowing: Start Space Marine 2
