Update []: After some extremely unfortunate wording in its original statement, the Horizon Chase Turbo dev has now confirmed that purchased copies will remain in players’ libraries, beyond the game’s delisting on 1st June.
A spokesperson for the studio said:
“You will continue to be able to download your owned copy.”
So that clarifies that.
Original Story: Horizon Chase Turbo, the sublime PS4 arcade racer, will be delisted as part of the ongoing Epic layoffs.
While it’s not entirely clear why the excellent outing will be removed from sale, a statement on the game’s official social media page says it’ll “no longer be available to download” starting 1st June.
We’re going to contact the dev and try to get clarification because it’s unclear whether the game will remain in existing owners’ libraries or not. We’re going to assume the statement is poorly worded.
For the record, this doesn’t affect sequel Horizon Chase 2, which is available on PS5 and PS4.
However, the delisting will presumably expand to Horizon Chase Turbo’s DLC, like the excellent Ayrton Senna-inspired pack.
We’ll update as soon as we get more information on this because the statement is confusing and unclear. As we understand it right now, though, only Horizon Chase 2 will remain available on the PS Store.
