Crimson Desert Dev to Patch PS5 RPG's 'Uncomfortable' Controls 1

There’s a lot to love about PS5 RPG Crimson Desert, but its control scheme is not one of them.

It takes cues from the worst of Rockstar’s releases, and is somehow even more cumbersome and complicated than even those.

In a message on X (or Twitter), dev Pearl Abyss says it’s been listening to feedback and is planning a patch to improve this aspect of the game.

A spokesperson wrote:

“Since launch, we have been listening closely to your feedback and doing our best to make improvements to the game. In particular, we are aware of the discomfort many players have experienced with the controls, and we are currently preparing a patch to address this. We also want to apologize for not providing keyboard and mouse players with a satisfactory gameplay experience.”

The studio added that it’s taking feedback very “seriously” and working to “improve your gameplay experience as quickly as possible”.

It included a link where players can submit bugs and concerns for review by the development team, and you can find that through here if you’re having any problems at all.

In our initial hands-on article, we noted that Crimson Desert is a bit bizarre, due to its unorthodox control scheme and non-existent narrative structure. We’ll be bringing you a full review ASAP.
