Well, that was an eventful end to the week, wasn't it? We hope you've all got a working PS5 and won't be too affected by the recent price hikes. Let's try to unwind with some of our favourite games, eh?
Jamie O'Neill
My intention to play 12 PS5 games that aren't available on PS4 as a gaming New Year's resolution has hit a snag. Basically, I don't want to delete anything to make space to install Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, so I need to research how a new M.2 SSD will expand my PS5's storage.

I'm pottering about with a bunch of different reviews at the moment, which sometimes isn't my best idea as I struggle to focus on everything I've got in the offing. I'll try to get my sh*t in order this weekend.
That's everything we're playing this weekend, then, but as always we'll turn the microphone to you. What's keeping you busy this weekend? Let us know below.

This weekend I will focus on Assassin's Creed Odyssey as I am on Chapter 7.
I will play Resident Evil 1 (the OG) on Steam Deck with the analog controls mod.
And finally if the time permits some Metroid Dread
Happy gaming!
Resident Evil Requiem and Life is Strange Reunion
Continuing my Dark Souls replay with DS3 while listening to the Bonfireside Chat podcast (those guys are great). I've gotten back into The Blue Prince as my evening game, after loosing a 200 hour save to file corruption. The RNG can be punishing, but it's a cracking puzzle game.
I might even play a bit of GTA V single player, although I'm still having second thoughts about GTA 6 because of how Rockstar have been behaving. Can't have nice things
@Jamie O'Neill, you can get a 2TB from Amazon for about £200 (the Western Digital ones are horribly overpriced), they're dead easy to fit and you can just specify which drive to download games to in the system settings or just move games between the internal and additional drives (I think you get a prompt when you're downloading anyway). Don't forget you can hive off games to an external USB drive if you're not playing them at the moment, sometimes it feels faster to re-download them though The save data just sits on internal drives until you get rid of them, so when you delete and reinstall a game, you'll still have your save files.
Have a great weekend folks!
What I thought was the final region in Nioh 3 turned out to be not the final region. Onwards.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment: The combat is exceptionally fluid and pairs well with the new sync strikes as it takes no effort at all to switch between characters and it's fun trying them all out, my personal favorite being Calamo the Korok or Ardi the Gerudo Chief. The Knight Construct is also a neat way to kind of involve Link. It's a fun hack-and-slash that scratches that Zelda itch.
Finishing off Space Marine 2. For the Emperor!
Great solo campaign, but I just find the combat and the game all a bit sluggish. Space marines should be much faster.
This weekend I will be sheltering indoors from the delightful Scottish weather and will be playing: -
Alan Wake 2: unknowingly triggered the first bit of the Night Springs DLC last night and was not prepared for proceedings to suddenly turn into a Suda51 game. Gotta love Remedy 😂
Trails in the Sky the 3rd: I'd heard opinions were a bit divided on this one as to whether it is worthwhile, however, I'm having a great time with it. Some of the character interactions have had me in stitches, and the story is much more interesting than I was expecting. Usually I would be critical of a game that reuses so many assets from previous games, but Falcom somehow makes it work by having such a detailed and lore-filled setting.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
I managed to finish of the Devil May Cry 2 plat last night, which I’m happy about, as I have a few meaty games lined up for April and need every extra bit of time I can find to get them done. Will either make a start on World War Z: Aftermath or Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. I won’t have a lot of spare time this weekend but I’ll hopefully get a bit done on one of these at least.
I’ll also be returning to Gears of War: Reloaded tonight for one night only, to help a couple of guys out with TDM map wins and weapon kills. It will then be finally uninstalled.
I have about 6 games on the go which is unusual for me!
I’m currently playing Crimson Desert which I’m loving so far. I’m breaking that up with a bit of Dead Space and Trail Out on the side.
I’m also playing Dragonkin: The Banished co-op with my brother and we also have group multiplayer sessions on Saturday night in which we are playing Abiotic Factor and Toxic Commando
I’ll throw in Overwatch 2 as well because I’ll most likely chuck that on for a bit too!
Marathon, Crimson and Pure Pool Pro, love doing the challenges in the latter but suck at them.
In between battering Mewgenics and the odd bit of Mario Tennis Fever, I've been on a PlayStation Studios kick as of late.
In the week I finally went back to and finished God of War, a game I started way back in 2023 but just wasn't feeling. That game is special and I'm glad I went back to it. I'm now playing Horizon: Zero Dawn Remastered.
More of the superb Crimson Desert on PS5 Pro....this is a game im literally getting lost and immersed in, challenging boss fights but I HATE the inventory system. The game deserves its success. .
I'll indulge in some more runs on Marathon now that im really getting into the games systems - the gunplay and PVP elements are fantastic, as you'd expect from Bungie.
FF9 on PS4 - In my mind the BEST FF ..I pray for a remake daily
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!
😴🐕🐩
Just started a replay of Assassin's Creed Unity with the latest 60 fps update. Don't know yet whether it will hold my attention for long, but I was craving a good old fashioned AC experience for some reason.
After a lot of back and forth, I decided to not get Crimson Desert now and let the developers patch it up a bit first. Which is always the best thing to do but then sometimes you just really wanna play a new game when it comes out. It was a real hard decision this one 😅
Metal Eden - so I finished the last of Metal Eden and really enjoyed it. By the end I was hooked by the gameplay, the flow of the game and the fast paced combat is really good imo. But, its also pretty buggy. I ran in to some towards the end and then with the lastest patch I started a new game + but you get softlocked where doors arent opening after a fight like they should, which is game breaking so... Real shame, hope they can fix it sooner rather than later.
Other than that I havent started anything new, I do think I'll get Life is Strange Reunion real soon. I picked bae before bay so it maybe the game makes a little more sense to me than if you picked the other way around. Early reviews seem positive and I really like the LiS games. But, no real rush so I'll wait for some more reviews before buying.
Have a nice weekend!
I'll be on Warhammer space marines 2 and some resident evil 4 remake over the weekend hope you all have a good one!
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. After successfully obtaining all the ? panels in Mario Kart World, I have turned my attention to those incorrigible P switches. I'm also hoping to complete Final Fantasy XVI, which I have enjoyed immensely. Happy gaming time everyone.
Greetings, good people.
The weather in Moscow took an unexpected turn for good, so this weekend I won't stay at home and play, good weather usually doesn't last here. In the beginning of the week my kitty finally got better, so I could properly focus on RE Requiem, now on my third playthrough on Insane and gathering missed collectibles. Also finished Octopath Traveller and started the sequel. Lovely games.
That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.
I have to work until lunch, but after that;
@Eduard_Brenton Good luck with the P switches!!!
I got all of the ? panels and gave up on the collectibles after that.
Just about nearly done with acquiring the platinum for Resident Evil: Requiem. As a long time Resi fan I absolutely loved every second of it. Then thinking next game may try out Space Marine 2. Never played any Warhammer games before, so will be treading new waters. Happy Gaming All
Back to TW3 again, game is timeless. The current gen upgrade is just too impressive. And when playing it, you feel like playing CP2077, so it's that too. Then more of Henry's never ending adventures in KCD2.
@ApostateMage ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
I’m fully locked and rotating between Minishoot Adventures, the incredible Resident Evil Requiem, and the amazing Crimson Desert. What a game! It’s an incredible sandbox, and honestly, what story there is I am digging. Gathering lost brethren to return your clan to glory while solving the mystery of the “rocks in the sky.” There’s something to always stumble on or a quest to begin. Enjoy the weekend all!
Still finishing my 2nd playthrough of Avowed just got to the last main area so hopefully finish it this weekend. Might buy either Stellar Blade or Indiana Jones in the sale if i finish Avowed. I'll also be playing some Battlefield 6 later on.
I finished Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden two days ago and I'm still not over that emotional ending... Anyway haha, this weekend I plan to wrap up Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and maybe start Digimon Survive! Hope everyone is doing fine, things will get better hopefully.
@Shepherd_Tallon how is Screamer? I’ve seen the reviews and debated whether or not it was enough to justify the price.
@somnambulance I've heard that the first hands-on previews for LiS Reunion are extremely positive, and it's always good to see a fellow fan here. Hope you enjoy it! I'll get it a bit later, despite the wait killing me lol.
Gordian Quest for about £1.50. Highly recommended. Been caught in Clair Obscur for 3 weeks now, so needed something a little different for a bit.
@Shepherd_Tallon thank you, sir. There are a couple I know I won't be able to get, but I at least want to try them all.
I’ve been playing Possessor(s), which so far is quite good. The graphics, ambience and soundtrack are wonderful. I really hope the developers are not finished after the problems they had with Hyper Light Breaker.
I will continued playing one of the best jrpgs ever in the excellent the legends of heroes trial of cold steel.and I will be playing fan favorite the amazing diablo 3 eternal collection. I will be watching my michigan wolverines 💛 💙 play in the ncaa basketball 🏀 tournament. And I willbe watching my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.i will be watching legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.the wayans brothers.married with children. And saved by the bell.word up son
Playing more Dave the diver and Pokopia - as I’ve now technically finished the main story - but need to redesign all the villages.
More of the excellent Marathon, plus I'm going to pick something out of the backlog to play alongside it since I'm getting frustrated with Cairn. Absolutely brilliant game but I've managed to climb myself into a situation where it's practically impossible to continue forwards... three times now - and had to start again.
I'm thinking one of Aliens: Dark Descent, The Alters, Tunic or A Plague Tale: Requiem - an absolute spread of genres there!
Finishing off the Hell is us platinum hopefully. It’s been a collectible slog and I’ve been in two minds about whether I like the game or not. Having finished the game now though I can say I can see the effort that went into making this game 👍🏻
Hating my life while trying to beat Promised Consort Radahn 😭
Edit: Never mind. Changed my approach and blew him away without any trouble at all. Now only Bayle is left, plus a new game+ for the platinum trophy (final ending).
Edit 2: Platinumed Elden Ring and beat all the bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree!
I've been trying out some emulators and dipping in and out of LOTR: The Two Towers & Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams
Gotten back into Wipeout Omega Collection, and probably pop in and out of Marathon/BF6. Should probably finally finish Returnal before Saros comes out though
@Burnish1619 LOTR: The Two Towers is so good. Better than it has any right to be!
Thought I would try Screamer on PS5, but mainly Speed Running Resident Evil Requiem too.
Marathon running around outpost for upgrade salvage to get my Arachne upgrades. Need to get that shotgun for my rook
I've finished up Resident Evil Requiem, which was great (and also took me forever due to working so much lately). I've recently bought Fatal Frame 2 remake & Tales Of Berseria remastered, which have been taunting me from the shelf. But of course I want to play the new Life Is Strange, which I don't have! (As well as Monster Hunter Stories 3 & Screamer, so much great stuff lately!)
I lack the motivation to play games because right now here in SEA we're experiencing oil + gas crisis big thanks to orange man and satanyahu war.
sigh...maybe i'll play some Ninja Gaiden Sigma and imagine myself slashing orange man and satanyahu into pieces. F* these two ***** 🤬
sigh...hope you guys have a good weekend 🙏
Romeo is a Dead Man (PS5) and Resident Evil Requiem (PS5 & Switch 2).
Marathon, which is really great. And a bit of Spiderman 2, also great.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst

Finally got around to this follow-up to the great original ME. It's a pretty good time. The story is mediocre at best and the characters are your typical lot of rebellious youth as envisioned by a soulless marketing team, but then there are the great moments of wall-running and jumping across rooftops that make up for it.
LunarLux

A nice little pixel-RPG that is supposedly a lot like Mega Man Battle Network, but I wouldn't know since I never played that game. I like games like these as palate cleansers between bigger meals.
More Asgard's Wrath 2

This is one big-ass game for VR. This week I've got a new companion that is a half-hawk, half-dude that can transform into a hawk that can be grappled to fly around with. Also I unlocked fishing and beat up a giant scorpion in the desert.
After a lot of Requiem this week (insanity difficulty is the last trophy I need) I’ve decided give it a rest and focus on other games like Mass Effect and Alan Wake 2. I didn’t much like AW 1 so I’m not sure how much I’m going to like the sequel. But with my Pro arriving in about 5 hours I’m keen to discover it.
Vindaloo and films on the side today also.
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
It'll be a toss-up between Double Exposure, which I never finished, before LiS Reunion, Crimson Desert which I'm just going to try out (I played Cyberpunk at launch and still had fun), and more of the near-endless Divinity: Original Sin 2 - over 100h in I might finally make it to Act 3 of 4/5.
But it's also a nice day so maybe I'll guilt myself out to enjoy it.
Marathon!!! It’s so sick.
@ErrantRob tbh Crimson Desert is soaking up most of my gaming time so I've only spent a few hours with Screamer, but I'm really liking what I've played of it so far.
The visual style is gorgeous and I love the arcade feel of it.
That said, I don't think the drift mechanic is for everyone. I like it, but I've heard some complaints.
If you're not sure my advice would be to wait for a sale.
I went out this morning and bought my psvr 2 and I'm currently having my mind blown by GT7. This is just stupidly great. I will jump on marathon this evening but this weekend pretty much belongs to GT7 in vr..Have a great weekend folks 👍
Slay the spire and Hollow Knight.
Also a new tattoo today!
Have a great weekend!
Literally just finished Neva a few minutes ago. That was a superb and surprising experience. Genuinely brilliant.
Tempted now to get minishoot' adventures before I get South of midnight on Tuesday
I'll be playing crimson desert there's a castle ive seen in the distance that im determined to get to without getting sidetracked, then split fiction with a friend of mine who's really bad at games, its a mixture of hilarity and anger , "just jump, look down, look down, shoot , shoot, oh my god,go slowly, slowly , jump jump dash ,jump , jesus christ" 😂
Finishing the god awful Sons of Sparta.
@rusty82 I adore south of midnight , hope it gets a sequel
Arc raiders and baldurs gate 3 👹
I was away for a week, so what with the holiday prep and travel from and to a difficult location, I've not gamed for 2 weeks, so it's back to Skull and Bones today for instant arcadey gratification 🙂
Lots of Marathon, and then I also just bought Monster Hunter Stories 3 last night, and I’m digging it. Probably also tie on some Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
@thechetearly I have 5 kids in my house that always want to play Marathon with me, but I’m always up for making new friends too. If you need someone to play with, hit me up - my username on PS is the same as here. I can always easily find a third in my house if we need one!
@lazarus11 I've been looking forward to it for ages. Just not had an Xbox or PC to play it on so I've had to wait. Can't wait to get stuck into it, looks my sort of game
I’m on WWE 2K26. Will also play Fatal Fury COTW and Sonic Cross Worlds.
I’m just one trophy away from the platinum in Marathon, so I’ll be grinding it out this weekend. It still might take me another two weeks, but that’s okay.
What’s wild is that this might be the only multiplayer game I’ve put 60+ hours into and still feel completely outmatched. I used to play Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 at a semi-professional level, and I also competed in Overwatch at a high level—the last multiplayer game I seriously played.
And yet, Marathon is my kryptonite. There are moments in Marathon where I think I’m not only git-ting gud, but becoming skilled as well. My (random) squad strings together extractions, and I’m getting kills without relying entirely on my teammates. Then I lose a single match—and suddenly it spirals into a losing streak. It’s in these scenarios where I question my ability; but that’s the draw.
I beat Resident Evil 3 Remake this week, so I’ve moved on to RE4 Remake. I’m really enjoying it, so far, and starting to understand why everyone loves it so much.
@FinneasGH ....you try running fast with those muscles and all that armour on !! 🤣
@Kraven ...Marathon really is something special. Bungie are the masters of FPS multiplayer
Against my better judgement I have bought a couple of my favourite games on PlayStation that I already own on my Series X. I got them to play on my newly acquired Pro, even though the Pro probably does nothing for them because they are fairly old.
So this weekend I find myself playing yet another run of XCOM 2. I just love the game! I've decided to play through it whilst awaiting the release of Pragmata, and whilst waiting for Crimson Desert to have some of it's issues addressed, though it will probably have to wait until after I have finished Saros too.
I'm hoping to have another go at trio run in a Master Horde in Gears 5 too, but my mate is busy today, and not sure whether he will be around tomorrow, so I might go without this weekend, which is a shame because Horde is my favourite thing to play.
It's a busy time for new games for me (well except for XCOM 2), and I absolutely love it when it's like this...
@Divergent95 I can’t believe Square didn’t send out review codes. Either they don’t want reviews or press or they’re just hoping for positive word of mouth from the fans. I’m just glad we don’t have to deal with media outlets trashing on the series for once. 😂
Clearly the game would’ve had overlapping development with Double Exposure based on how quickly it came out after it. I’m hoping it recontextualizes how people felt about Double Exposure a bit because, even if it wasn’t my favorite LiS game, I don’t think it deserved all the hate it got. It was a LiS game for all the ways a LiS game is a LiS game, perhaps it was the most LiS game there ever was since the original. Lol.
My wife and I love the series. I’d like to finish Requiem before I play LiS, but my wife and I are playing Requiem at a glacial pace. I’ve beaten two other games in the meantime since starting Requiem. I wouldn’t be surprised if LiS gets finished first!
Continuing my journey through 1400s Bohemia in Kingdom Come Deliverance. I'm enjoying my time looting, boozing with wenches, cavorting with bath maidens, putting swords in shiny men, arrows in bandits, offering a helping hand here and there exploring the vast open landscape. Happy gaming weekend Folks.
@Northern_munkey Now you just need a racing wheel + pedals
@Gamer83 Have fun with Romeo is a Dead Man! I really enjoyed my time with the game. It’s a contender for the most underrated game this generation, in my eyes. It’s fantastic.
@Ichiban if you want to play LiS, play LiS! I mean, the previews were excellent!
@Marquez Aliens: Dark Descent gets fun fast, it's the most movie accurate Aliens game I've ever seen. From the sound effects to the interiors and the marine's gear and weaponry. The learning curve isn't that big either and you unlock new drop-points as you progress making returning to the area/facility worth while for anything you might have missed the first time around.
I made sure to name my squad right (Hudson and a couple of the others were dead at that point)
I'm on final story bit of star ocean 2 on ps5. And still in shock about the diabolical last mission of dying light 1, and maybe a bit of octopath traveler 2.
More Crimson Desert for me. Still in chapter 3 and taking my sweet time 😌
Have a great weekend all!
Having just platinumed Resident Evil 4 remake I’m now playing through the DLC for it - Separate Ways. It’s just as enjoyable as the base game itself. Hope everyone has a great time gaming this weekend and no rage quitting 😉😂
would like to play screamers and high on life 2 but they’re so damn expensive 😭
@rusty82 the music is amazing
Nothing. The obscene price bump to the console has sucked the enthusiasm out of my sails.
Feels odd to be watching the death spiral of console gaming in real-time.
@nomither6 yeah i was suprised at screamers pricing, it looks like a mobile game
@nomither6 Both games are cheaper than typical new releases in my local store, which is to say shop around a bit.
@Perturbator already do.thrustmaster t598 and a racing frame. Had those for almost a year 👍
@SuperSilverback I've been very tempted to delete my WipEout Omega Collection save and start from scratch. But it's at 100% 🤣
Finished up the slop of Yotei dlc, but still helping friends with that repetitive wave survival stuff. We can only play a few matches at a time before the tedium wins out and we have to stop. I wish they had released the Raid along with Legends just so that we could have gotten the whole mess over and done with all at once.
@Balaam_ Do you actually enjoy videogames? You make everything you play sound like hard work that you're being forced to engage with.
I haven't touched a game controller in more than a week. Not sure I will have time this weekend. If I do, I may jump back into Jedi Survivor or find a real light RPG to play.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
Playing versions of MARVEL: Cosmic Invasion simultaneously on PS4 and PS5. 🤷🏾♂️
@MrPeanutbutterz it’s because he’s a trophy hound. I also used to be obsessed with trophies (not to the level of @Balaam_ though), but then I realized it actually makes gaming less fun because you’re sometimes in the mindset of skipping a good game because the platinum is hard. Or playing a crap game because it’s an easy platinum.
@Northern_munkey Nice! Not much beats the immersion of VR + racing rig
@DrVenture69 Marvelous stuff, I've taken your advice, and I've just bought a 2TB M.2 SSD for my PS5 from Amazon.
I've even treated myself to the Switch 2 Edition of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, so I'm having a bit of a spoil myself Saturday.
It was kind of you to provide extra detail about being able to specify the drive to organise my PS5 library too, and how using a USB Flash Drive is an alternative to redownloading games.
Enjoy replaying Dark Souls III, and I also hope that you have a great weekend.
@MrPeanutbutterz fair play chap. I was near 100% on the original Wipeout HD and 2048. Never really gave Omega Collection a good rattle!
This weekend I will at least do my best to acquire the two elemental attacks in Crimson Desert. Keeping your focus on one thing is really hard lol. So much to see and do at all times.
Bought Avowed in the current Sale and downloaded it to see if I enjoy it.
And maybe continue my slow journey through the amazing Trails of Cold Steel II.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I completed RE REQUIEM and can't stop playing Alters. ALSO got my daughter a Switch 2 and she has been playing Donkey Kong Bonanza.
Playing Wrestlequest and having a mostly good time. A 16 bit wrestling rpg featuring various legends of wrestling was a great idea, however making one that’s 40 hours is not. I’m 27 hours in and the charm is starting to wear off a bit. The story goes to ridiculous places that just make the game feel more drawn out then needed. If it was 15-20 hours it would have been perfect.
@GirlVersusGame You have me convinced - installing it now! Let's see if I can tear myself away from Marathon to start it this weekend.
Gonna finally start my journey into playing and replaying everything in the Xeno series starting with Xenogears
And still chipping away at pokopia, still super fun making my own version of towns for these pokemon
A tlou part 1 grounded run. I’ve played the game loads but it’s the first time on grounded. It looks absolutely gorgeous on my oled TV with the new pssr update.
I just started getting some of western Australia on the chiral network in Death Stranding 2. It's great to be back in the boots of Sam again after beating the first game a few years ago.
Also I think some friends want to dive into YapYap to see how the game is.
Good night.

I played Animal Crossing New Horizons to make my quick preview of my ANTM Animal's Next Top Model photoshoot.
Here is the introduction part.
Yup, I became the host and head judge of ANTM. 😁
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt
Helldivers 2
Space Marine 2
Starship Troopers: Extinction
Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!
Toxic Commando
@GirlVersusGame
Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?
No, have you?
(Oh Vasquez, you're just too bad)
@SuperSilverback Thanks. Did similar on HD/Fury, and 2048.
The trophies (if you're so inclined) on Omega Collection are fractionally kinder - Best Zico 2048 is different and a bit easier. Beat Zico HD is still the same, mind (and the completion rate for a lot of them is still close to zero).
Be prepared to want to eat your controller occasionally; the Elite campaign AI is next level BS at times!
Enjoy though, one of my favourite gaming experiences ever.
@AhmadSumadi Bonkers mindset (I've OCD myself and one of the best things I ever did for gaming was turn off trophy notifications).
Can't help but feel they'd be better off with a Nintendo console.
Just got silent hill f, doom dark ages and space marine 2 in the sale, still undecided which to boot up first though! Got 2 weeks off work now so should get round to trying each of them.
@Marquez Some tips that might help would be to make sure you have at least one gunner with high impact rounds, a sniper (recon class) with a suppressor is great too, it means less likelihood of being spotted and then having the whole hive come down on you. Pouches are really useful for collecting more items/loot. XP comes more from objectives than actual enemies, it's tempting to camp the Apc for a lot of easy kills but the XP isn't there.
Sergeant is great for boosting command points which are then used to deal more damage, mines are really strong too unless they nerfed them. There's a perk that gives you extra ammo when you rest and rest is needed to keep your squad from freaking out. Sentry guns (like the ones introduced in the Director's cut) are great for choke-points and for dealing with waves. Definitely don't take ammo if you don't need it, they don't extract with it meaning it goes to waste, unlike the medkits. The Apc can drive over turrets if you place them in it's path, I learned that the hard way.
I used a trick with motion trackers where I'd place them near the Apc and as the hive were getting closer to my squad I'd overload the tracker causing the hive to go for that instead and then the Apc automatically took them all out. I think my initial squad was two gunners, one recon and one sergeant. I made sure one gunner covered the front and another the back, Xenos like to creep up on marines.
Crimson Desert. Loving this game so far. Just wish I had more time to play it. Mind you, I have a week off work soon so I know what I’ll be doing 😂
Xenoblade Chronicles X (DE) Another huge open world to explore, this time on Switch 2. Haven’t got my skell yet, but I am chipping away at the game whenever I can.
Absolum This is my “palette cleanser” between the other two huge open world games lol.
Oh yeah, and my PS5 Pro will be coming later today! 😃 Will hopefully get it set up tonight. First game I’ll be downloading will be Crimson Desert.
@GirlVersusGame
Such a good game. Combat can be a pain in the a**e but cracking nonetheless. Enjoy.
@Onearmbandit It can be worse if you spent years learning fencing then play the game and realize that almost everything you learned doesn't apply to combat in the game. Distance management and lunges go right out the window when a man is coming at you with a mace. I've taken to smacking them with a spiked warhammer until I get better with a longsword. I've also been leveling up strength to wield one by punching cows when no ones looking. With a bow it's easy, there are a lot of wanderers on the road and they tend to not suspect anything. Even if they run away they do it in a straight line unlike Jack Black in The Jackal. I can range them a lot easier when they aren't ducking and weaving. I'm paying for my transgressions.
Over one thousand gold, that was three hours worth of activities. If I don't make my peace with God people run away screaming once I enter a town or village and that's bad for stealth. The hardest part about the game was lockpicking and pickpocketing, I've definitely improved.
@KingPev 😂 They are genetically modified though, they can sprint at 50mph!
I snagged Void/breaker in the Steam Spring sale and it is getting its hooks in me quickly. Real fun movement shooter/roguelike hybrid. Love seeing solo devs succeed.
Ball x Pit still earns runs from me too cause it's so damn addictive.
@somnambulance
Oh yeah, I've definitely been having fun playing Romeo is a Dead Man. Typical Suda 51 and Grasshopper weirdness, the gameplay is a bit janky, which I expected, but still a blast once you get used to it. The lower review score didn't deter me, I enjoy the game more than many that I've played which are rated 90+ and if holds up through to the end (about halfway through), this may top No More Heroes 1 as my favorite game from that dev team. Would've likely completed it fairly quickly but I bought not long before getting RE and that has taken a lot of my attention.
Never played a JRPG before as I thought they definitely wouldn't be my thing. But giving Persona 5 Royale a cracker and am a little bit addicted.
Stealing a lot of my time! Only 20 hours in so barely scratched the surface but what other similar games should I try next of a similar ilk?
@rusty82 i loved Neva too. Knew i would after Gris. Really good stuff
@GirlVersusGame
Wow! That’s some Groschen. I only get a few hours at a time and I’m mainly levelling up my sword. Defence is Max as is Horsemanship but not getting very far in the story.
@old_gamer74 going to try Gris soon after having loved Neva. Don't know much about Gris but I'm getting the impression there's no combat. I liked the balance of puzzles, platforming and combating Neva. If Gris doesn't have combat I'm concerned it may feel a tad samey
@TimeDelayedGamer the night springs dlc is insane. Enjoy the coffee
Finished Gravity Rush during the week so I might start Seperate Ways. Like a lot of other people I will give Crimson Desert time to be patched up before I play it.
Enjoy the weekend all
@rusty82 yeah there is no combat in Gris but i completed it in nearly half the time that it took me to complete Neva so it is a tighter, more focused experience that depending on how much time you have you can potentially binge in 1 sitting (took me somewhere between 3 and 4 hours). probably would have more impact if you had gone Gris then Neva but i still recommend giving it a go.
@Onearmbandit I'm going at it three hours per night, give or take missing a few. Most of that Groschen came from going town to town/village to village then letting myself into peoples homes while they slept. It's easy to gently choke them out as they sleep and easy to practice pickpocketing on sleeping people too. The same for drunks, I wait for them to booze it up then empty their pockets. Guards are also a great source of coin, I strip them of everything then encumber walk to the miller and sell it all.
I found a secret side door in Rattay that leads to a hill. I've been Skyrim walking down the hillside with all of the loot, the mill is right at the bottom. The danger is falling. The first time I fell and broke both legs then bled out. The mill is right below, doing it that way dodges the town guards who are always suspicious of me being loaded down with loot.
That's the hill I died on.
@Gamer83 I’d give Romeo a strong 8.5/10, honestly. If the last couple chapters didn’t balloon so much in size and kept pace with the earlier chapters, I think it probably would’ve landed as a 9/10 for me. It’s a video game that feels like a video game and that’s a wonderful thing.
Don’t get deterred by my opinion that the last few levels are overlong, by the way, because you may feel differently. It just felt punchier to me with the shorter levels because I was limited on time when I played it and I appreciated having a game I could boot up for 45 minutes a night and get through a chapter easy. It’s the Suda51 game I personally enjoyed the most. I was surprised at how smoothly the game ran and honestly how little jank there was in comparison to his other games. Very creative game.
@GirlVersusGame
I’ve just started stealth by grabbing wayfarers but pickpocketing them first.
On PS5 I've been playing Pragmata demo, it's interesting concept but not sure if it's for me tbh. I'll wait for reviews and let's see. Then I did everything in My first GT and really considering to buy GT7 now.
On Steamdeck I'll continue playing fantastic Creaks. If I'm in the mood maybe continue Shadow warrior or Space Marine 1 or start something completely new.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
CarneyVale: Showtime (Windows Phone) - I'm in the final stretch with it now, then it's off to the boneyard and on to the next game.
Taking my sweet ass time with AC: Shadows. Naoe only. Yasuke is dumb to play. Beautiful game. All the usual Ubisoft things of course, but the writing, music, visuals, gameplay and combat are the best of the Ubisoft bunch IMO. About half way through maybe
@Zuljaras
I loved odyssey!
Was the first (only so far) AC I bought because of the setting and I had a great time playing it.
Part like a time machine to the fabled mythical ancient greece, part like a wonderwoman tomboy simulation.
Hope you have a good time with it!
Also, begining Trails 1st chapter remake
Loving it so far!
Playing with my super monkey balls
@Onearmbandit Another trick you could use it to keep redoing the pickpocket training quest with Peschek until he stops offering the option. I put on a movie (The Gate 1987, thirteen year old Stephen Dorff with some demons) and kept doing it, maybe twenty times until he put the foot down. It also trains stealth.
Yeah done that haha. I was watching the Running Man (Arnie) and the Krays 👍
@somnambulance
Definitely interested to see what I think about the final chapters of the game when I get there. No matter what, though, I'm happy I purchased the game now rather than wait for a physical copy (which I will get if they eventually make one), it's been a blast. Agree it's a lot less janky than Suda 51's previous games but in comparison to other modern action games you can still tell the difference. Crazy enough, that appeals to me.
It is a big (Week)end for me as I had tickets for my daughter and my brother's daughter to see the circus. Biggest in the north.
Besides that I've started the postmodern classic novel House of Leaves.
Also, I finished/finishing Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2 and Space Marines 2. I most enjoyed Spidey. I respect Alan Wake 2's postmodern dedication which made the whole experience into a visual novel. I have only played one online match in Space Marines 2, but already I've had my fill of that game.
I also started up som Monster Hunter games, but I don't enjoy those. Every time I try, I nope out.
I decided to work on the side content of Unicorn Overlord I missed (I beat the campaign back when it launched). It’s very different than other squad based strategy games in that victory is all about the pre battle composition and placement of a group and its members vi a vi those of the enemies. Once two groups make contact you can watch battles play out (the graphics are Vanillaware at its best) but skip them entirely.
I also played Helldivers 2 with an acquaintance and a couple randoms. Good, chaotic fun. We completed every mission but didn’t always all extract alive due mostly to enemy effort but also the odd bit of friendly fire.
Ive gotten close to beating Ironguard Salvation (a VR RTS). It is a lot more demanding than its predecessor because combat at all levels (including air, where the player’s drone resides) has gotten much more complex and chaotic due to both sides having many more options this time around.
