Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC

Are we seriously still writing about Dragon's Dogma 2 and its mythical DLC here in March 2026? You better believe it!

Although it's never been officially acknowledged by Capcom, a potential expansion for the 2024 open world RPG has long stood at the heart of many rumours. And now, on the game's second anniversary, some fans are convinced that it's finally happening.

Usually, we'd be inclined to cast a cynical eye over this kind of thing — but the game's celebratory social media post does raise questions.

Said post features unique artwork made for the anniversary. At first glance, it looks fairly standard, but it's actually packing some strangely specific details.

For starters, a letter on the table — which has been accurately translated by fans using the game's own alphabet — reads: "Sightings of griffins flying in from the northern region of Organ have been confirmed."

This is interesting because previous whispers had suggested that some kind of northern kingdom would be the main setting of the phantom DLC. There are also a small number of references to a northern realm in the game itself.

Then we've got the mysterious character in the background of the picture. They've got their back turned, they're enveloped in a strange blue glow, and they're wearing armour that doesn't exist in the base game.

Yeah, now you're starting to see why this post has Dragon's Dogma fans sitting up and taking notice.

But it gets even weirder. The image has a banner that reads "2nd Anniversary", but some of the letters have red backgrounds. If you take those letters and rearrange them, you can make "2nd Arisen" — the Arisen being your custom main character.

Again, we find ourselves pointing back to previous DLC rumours, which claimed that the expansion would feature another — a second — Arisen.

At this point we don't know what to believe, but it really does feel like something's going on here — the artwork is just way too deliberate. Either someone at Capcom's taking the p*ss, or we're on the brink of a Dragon's Dogma 2 revival.
