Wow, I still remember the very first WAYP 10 years ago! Crazy how time flies. I love this website and visit it multiple times a day. It’s great for people who don’t use social media imo. Thanks for the memories and consistency, Push Square staff! As for what I’m playing I’ll be out of town this weekend. I finished up my replay of Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the plane last night. Not sure what I will play on the way back though. Probably going to play some games I just recently picked up: Doom (2016) on Switch and/or Sword Art Online: Lost Song on Vita.
@Max_the_German I like the look of it too much and I have little toddlers that would break it quickly if it was being used regularly. Trying to preserve it as long as possible.
I loved the word ‘abilitease’. Brilliant. This review definitely makes me want to watch the anime. I tried the demo and it reminded me I’m not a fan of side scrollers but the cut scenes are terrific. Going to try and track down where to watch the show now.
I’m only halfway through the game and I’d give it a solid 7 at this point. So many positives to this game that are slightly overshadowed by the repetitive gameplay structure and layout. I don’t play Mafia games for the stealth. I think the game has leaned too heavily into that aspect and the realistically janky guns don’t help the game much either.
Hoping to finish up Robocop: Rogue City next week so I’ll be playing that as much as I can this weekend, which won’t be much. Loving the feel and atmosphere of this game a lot.
Excited for Banishers! That games been on my future games to play list since it released. Glad my large backlog can help me out by forcing me to wait to play it until it’s released on PS Plus.
I loved Gundslinger on Switch. Played and beat that last year. I have fond memories of Bound in Blood and never played the Cartel due to mixed reviews but now that I’m looking back I wish I had played it. I really love the two I’ve played and find them to be extremely fun and some of Techlands best work next to Dying Light.
I’m currently playing through Robocop and about 5 hours in. I am loving it so far and way more impressed with it than I thought I’d be. I feel like the reviews didn’t do this game justice. However, I also have Terminator: Resistance in my backlog and would like to complete that before taking on this DLC. I will likely pick it up in a year or two when it’s discounted as I’ve currently got so much to play. We’ll see how it compares to the base game.
I’m on vacation and the Portal is t working well on this shoddy lake house WiFi so I’ll be digging into Bayonetta 3 on the Switch. It’s surprising how much this game reminds me of Final Fantasy 16. Some of the boss fights are reminiscent of Eikon fights and I’m really happy to be finally playing this game.
I’ve played them all and InFamous: Second Son is by far my favorite. I’m probably bias though being from Seattle. The game blew me away when it released though and I platinumed it as soon as I could.
The game captures Seattle and the surrounding area at the beginning better than any other game I’ve played. Heavy Rain is a close second.
There is no good excuse to add Resistance 1 & 2 and then remove them so fast. And no one is a fan of less options. Removing games so players can “discover” new ones is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
I just played Mafia: Definitive Edition this year and was so impressed. This looks like a bet tree r version of that with a hint of Uncharted-level cinematics and gameplay.
Picked this up day one from GameStop. Wanted to support the new small studio putting out a perfect length game that is also single player at 50 bucks on launch! Incredible value for a game featuring three of my favorite actors currently (Andy Serkis, Charlie Cox, and Ben Starr). Couldn’t turn this down even after just picking up and loving Oblivion Remastered.
I just beat Silent Hill 2 remake and it is one of my favorite games I’ve played on the PS5. I am undoubtedly hyped for this game! Although I need to get Dead Space remake finished up before this.
MW2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I recently completed the remastered campaign a couple months ago. It really holds up imo. MW3 is not as big of a deal to me, but I’m happy to revisit the campaign again to experience the finale to that iconic trilogy.
Give me MAG! I know it won’t ever happen, but I loved that game and the small dedicated community that played it was pretty awesome. Would love to see FEAR 2 and 3, as well as, the Condemned games. Pupeteer would be nice to have also.
I am so happy about this! I went and bought every copy of Game Informer my GameStop had the day they announced they shut down. Glad to hear an iconic magazine will live again.
I’m bummed I picked this up day one for $70 because I love the series, but the writing is so bad and cringeworthy constantly that I couldn’t get past 5 hours without putting it down for better games. I would’ve happily picked it up and played this through PS Plus though. These services can be great but also discourage full price purchases because of reasons like this.
I finally finished up The Callisto Protocol this week and loved it towards the middle to the end. Final boss was a little weak. I think my plan is to plug away at some Yakuza 7 and Like A Dragon: Ishin! if I can find a chance. At night I’ll be probably lean towards Silent Hill 2 on the Portal. Feels nostalgic playing SH on a handheld. Reminds me of the PSP days.
I preordered this months ago while playing through Valhalla. I have high expectations for this game and I think it’ll be better than most expect it to be. I hope it sells well. I’m not sick of the franchise yet, and there’s so much more they can do with it.
I didn’t vote in the poll. My answer would have been “ No, I was already planning on playing single player offline games anyways” Mafia: Definitive Edition is an amazing experience and game. Highly recommend.
I had a new GameStop open up near my work a year ago and I have been visiting it weekly to see what new used games they get. I love it. The workers are nice but definitely bored. Sometimes I find some gems for an amazing price. I also just love the nostalgia of browsing physical games. I’ll buy physical till I can’t anymore. GameStop is my go to retailer for games.
Excited for this but need to finish a few games first! About to wrap up Yakuza 5! What an epic game that is. Shinada is one of my new favorite characters in the series.
I love the Marvel universe so I’m happy this game is doing well, but it’s definitely not my style of game. I hope other teams are taking notes when it comes to style and art direction because this game is crushing it.
Happy New Year Push Square staff! Thanks for the daily entertainment. My wife is sick of me reading this site daily, but I’ll never stop! Here’s to another great one!

Re: Instead of a Splinter Cell Game, What About a Netflix Anime?
I would watch this day one if it had Michael Ironside voicing Sam. Will wait to see how it is now though before watching.
